If so, the New York Times offers it grudgingly. They acknowledge that Florida’s death rate is no worse than the national average despite the state’s more liberalized approach to pandemic restrictions, which had critics predicting a catastrophe for months. In fact, Florida appears to have fared better than several states that imposed much more draconian lockdowns, although the NYT still casts Florida’s decisions as “an unspoken grand bargain”: To bask in that feeling — even if it is only that — is to ignore the heavy toll the coronavirus exacted in Florida, one that is not yet over.

On Monday, the Vatican reaffirmed the Roman Catholic Church’s 2,000-year-old doctrine that marriage is between one man and one woman and that homosexual acts are illicit. Therefore, the Vatican stated that the church cannot bless same-sex weddings because that would lead to confusion about the doctrine of marriage.
This should not surprise anyone with a basic familiarity with historic Christianity or with the Roman Catholic Church. The New Testament clearly condemns homosexual activity and Jesus explicitly affirmed the teaching of Genesis that marriage is between one man and one woman. The Catholic Church has a 2,000-year tradition of upholding this basic definition of marriage

Leftists are raging mad over jokes made by politically incorrect comedian and actor Bill Burr at the 2021 Grammy Awards, ironically meeting the comedian’s prediction at the award show that feminists were going to go “nuts.”
After walking on stage to piano music, Burr joked, “Was I the only one who wanted to kill himself during that piano solo?”
“I bought a suit for this. I thought I was gonna be on TV. I’m such a moron. I am losing so much money right now,” he then joked about himself. The award show was remote due to COVID-19 precautions.
When he presented the the best regional Mexican music award, he stumbled

For the past couple of days many of us have been transfixed by the sordid spectacle of senior military officers and the senior noncommissioned officers in the US Army and Space Force leveled attacks against Fox News host Tucker Carlson.
Carlson’s gave offense was pointing out the blinding stupidity and self-centeredness of military services who haven’t been doing all that great in the warfighting business suddenly becoming obsessed with hairstyling and pregnancy outfits for women in the military…and with general wokeness…while giving short shrift to things like combat readiness.

A Marine Corps Twitter account over the weekend lashed out at a civilian that suggested the service focus on China and not Tucker Carlson, then later apologized for the tweet after it received widespread scrutiny.
The move came after Carlson delivered a monologue last week commenting that China was focusing on making its young men more masculine, while President Joe Biden was focusing on reforms to make the military more accommodating to women, such as maternity flight suits.
Progressives in the military expressed anger over those comments, claiming Carlson was attacking women in the military.

The crisis on the southern border has gotten so bad that the Biden administration is now flying illegal migrants across Texas to El Paso. Once there, they are processed and dumped back into Mexico. Overcrowding of detention centers and Title 42 are the reasons cited for the change in how Biden originally decided to handle the crisis. Title 42 of the United States Code Section 265 allows CBP to quickly expel illegal migrants after they are taken into custody. President Trump ordered Title 42 to be in effect on March 21, 2020, as the coronavirus pandemic became a factor in illegal immigration

Joe Biden has yet to visit the embattled communities along the border as the migrant surge ramps up. This is unusual. For a liberal, this is a dream scenario. Not only could the president over-emote, blubbering all over the border, showing solidarity with citizens, but he could demonstrate how truly compassionate he is by embracing the new arrivals.
Think of all the photo ops.
But Biden has been absent and Democratic Rep. Henry Cuellar wants to know where he is.
“Any president should come down [and] really spend time with border communities. You know, the president sent a delegation and a bunch of folks from the White House

As President Biden set to make a victory tour through states with Senate races coming up to promote the passage of his pork-filled COVID relief bill, ABC’s Good Morning America shared their fear that the child migrant “issue” on the southern border would distract people. At the same time on Sunday, the network covered up how the bill had a trio of business tax hikes rounding out at roughly $60 billion hidden inside it.
As ABC started to talk about the relief package, their initial instinct was to boast about Biden’s victory tour.

At this point, every day that passes sees an army of immigrants swarming our southern border. Increasingly, we are seeing more and more unaccompanied minors either presenting themselves at border crossings or illegally going through gaps in the border wall to enter the country. Our resources to deal with these incursions have long since been exhausted and detention facilities (I’m sorry… “immigration input stations”) are overflowing. The backlog in our immigration courts is once again growing after a temporary respite during the previous administration. Now the problem is Joe Biden’s to deal with, particularly since he was the one who put out the welcome mat.

National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases head Dr. Anthony Fauci said Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press” that it is “disturbing” some supporters of former President Donald Trump are unwilling to get the coronavirus vaccine.
Anchor Chuck Todd asked, “I want to talk about vaccine. He has hesitancy here. We are seeing a bigger divide by politics. We talked about it earlier. For instance, among Trump voters, 47% have said they’ll not be vaccinated, 30% say yes, and half Republican men say they’re not going to take this vaccine. You have the PSA with all the former presidents except one, President Trump, in there. Do you think he

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said Sunday on ABC’s “This Week” that climate change has contributed to the surge of migrant children crossing the U.S.-Mexico border.
Pelosi said, “There are more children, about 600, 700 more children, unaccompanied children coming over the border. This is a humanitarian challenge to all of us. What the administration has inherited is a broken system at the border, and they are working to correct that in the children’s interest. I’m so pleased that the president, as a temporary measure, has sent FEMA to the border to help facilitate the children going from one 72-hour issue where they are cared for
