The U.S. House of Representatives passed universal background check gun control Thursday, criminalizing private gun sales conducted apart from an FBI background check. The legislation, H.R. 8, sponsored by Rep. Mike Thompson (D-CA), passed by a vote of 227 to 203. H.R. 8 would expand retail point-of-sale background checks so as to cover private points-of-sale. This will criminalize an individual who sells a 5-shot revolver to a lifelong neighbor, unless that neighbor first undergoes a National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) check, conducted by the FBI.

In the midst of scratching their heads over Governor Mike DeWine’s (R) Dec. 7 extension of his bizarre, unconstitutional “curfew” to guard against a virus that, evidently, becomes more deadly after 10 pm and before 5 am, Ohio residents might have missed the bizarre “high school sports” edict issued on Dec. 4… That’s the command that high school wrestlers are “permitted” to wrestle, but before and after the match, participants are...forbidden from shaking hands. Since Election Day 2020, President Donald Trump has claimed, without evidence, that there were some shenanigans in the presidential election — voter fraud, dead people voting, and the like. Social media was having none on it. In a 24-hour period between mid-morning Thursday and Friday, Twitter censored six of Trump’s posts. The posts weren’t immediately visible. Instead, there was this note attached by Twitter: “Some or all of the content shared in this Tweet is disputed and might be misleading about an election or other civic process.” Corrections*
The Illinois State Police accidentally approved a convicted felon for gun ownership and concealed carry licenses, prosecutors said Monday. Now, that man is accused of having a pile of weapons, a Kevlar vest, and over $114,000 worth of pot and heroin in his home. Chicago police armed with a search warrant raided Tracey Massey’s home in Englewood at 2 a.m. Sunday, authorities said during a bond court hearing Monday. Officers reportedly found a loaded handgun in his family room. But cops really hit pay dirt in the 52-year-old’s second-floor bedroom, according to prosecutors. There, officers found a loaded 12-gauge shotgun, a loaded “AR-15 style” rifle, Correction*
Like we’ve said for a while, the fix is in. We turn out attention to Wisconsin which is reporting 90% voter turnout. Considering dead people are still on the voter rolls and likely 20% or more of the residents simply didn’t vote, we can officially call an unambiguous Pinocchio on this one. According to the Milwaukee City Wire: Seven City of Milwaukee voting wards reported more 2020 U.S. Presidential election votes than they had registered voters, according to an analysis of results and Secretary of State files. Five of them are in the city’s eleventh aldermanic ward, on the city’s far Southwest Side. Correction:
But Joe Biden is ahead by 12 points! 38 circles were drawn on the ground today in Warm Springs for Joe Biden’s “rally” today. It appears the media was sitting in a few of the circles. AJC reporter Greg Bluestein posted this image. Correction*
Here in Middle America, there are small towns where going a couple of miles per hour over the speed limit will get you stopped by the town’s lone police officer. These “speed traps” are dotted throughout the region as, many times, a significant portion of a town’s revenue comes from issuing these tickets. Now, the entire city of Chicago will become one, gigantic speed trap. Mayor Lori Lightfoot is going to rig traffic cameras to automatically issue tickets for residents going just 6 MPH over the posted speed limit. Correction*
WASHINGTON - Ninety-nine days before the election that will determine whether President Donald Trump has a second term in office, first lady Melania Trump made a rare appearance in the spotlight Monday to announce she'd be overseeing the first renovation of the White House Rose Garden in 58 years. The first lady's plans are a throwback to the era of Jacqueline Kennedy, whom Trump has said she admires. According to the White House, Trump aims to restore the garden's original footprint to its 1962 redesign, which Kennedy helped oversee and which President John F. Kennedy commissioned from his friend Rachel "Bunny" Mellon, an heiress to the Listerine fortune who was an amateur authority on horticulture and landscape architecture. Correction*

Probably won't make it through the Senate, but still, what part of 'private' don't they understand...? It sure won't stop 'out of the trunk' sales in ghetto cities...
