Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) told Breitbart News on Wednesday that Democrat representatives, not Republicans, are being provided Secret Service protection per House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA) directives. The federal government built concrete barriers alongside fencing with razor wire surrounding the Capitol following violent riots on January 6, ostensibly to protect against a threat of “domestic terrorism” from conservative supporters of former President Donald Trump. Tuberville contrasted Washington, DC’s, reaction to unrest on January 6 with dozens of violent and destructive leftist-driven riots in large American cities in 2020. “In the last year, we had 230 riots,” Tuberville said.

Washington and Beijing are in talks about the first senior level meeting between the two superpowers since Joe Biden came to office.
A senior US administration official said the meeting will take place in the 'near term' but will not involve the countries' presidents.
Current discussions center around a meeting in Alaska between Secretary of State Antony Blinken and China's top diplomat Yang Jiechi. National security adviser Jake Sullivan and Chinese foreign minister Yang Wi could also take part in the talks.
Any such meeting would be the first such contact since President Joe Biden took office in January.

The banjo player from folk rock group Mumford & Sons announced today he is 'taking time away from the band' to 'examine my blindspots' after a Twitter pile-on for praising a controversial right-wing writer. Winston Marshall, the son of Brexit-supporting millionaire Sir Paul Marshall, was attacked on social media after tweeting support for US journalist Andy Ngo over the weekend, calling him a 'brave man' and hailing his 'important' book Unmasked: Inside Antifa's Radical Plan To Destroy Democracy.(Snip)
A source claimed that Marshall's staunchly right-wing views had been causing 'tension' in the band for some time, and that the decision was made

HBO is reportedly “very disappointed” upon learning of a “Lovecraft Country” actress who’s going viral for revealing that the production darkened her skin on set for a role. “This should not have happened, and we are taking steps to ensure this doesn’t occur again in the future,” the network admitted in a statement the Hollywood Reporter obtained regarding the shady incident. In a TikTok video posted last month, actress Kelli Amirah accused the 2021 Golden Globe-nominated horror drama’s makeup crew of casting a dark shadow on her appearance, so she could portray a younger version of a character in a wedding picture.

New billboard messages demanding Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s impeachment appeared in Albany on Tuesday—with one mocking the nipple rings that appeared to jut out under his official state shirt last year. “6 strikes → CUOMO’S OUT — Free the Nipple, Fire the Boob,” one digital slogan says in hot pink and white letters against a black background, according to a mock-up posted on Twitter. Another says, “I AM ONE MORE WOMAN — Impeach CUOMO,” while a third features an image of a bald eagle and the words “MAKE PUBLIC THE CUOMO ADMINISTRATION FBI INVESTIGATION!” The poke at Cuomo’s nipples—amid spiraling accusations of sexual misconduct

Aides to President Biden hurried the traveling press corps away as they shouted questions at an unresponsive commander-in-chief in Washington Tuesday—his 48th day in office without holding a solo press conference.
The incident occurred toward the end of a visit by Biden to W.S. Jenks & Son, a hardware store in the nation’s capital that benefited from his temporary extension for smaller businesses of the Paycheck Protection Program. After quietly watching Biden interact with store owners and employees for about 10 minutes, reporters began shouting a series of questions at him to no avail. Immediately after, handlers for the 46th president began yelling

The Chicago Public Library is temporarily removing six Dr. Seuss books from circulation after Dr. Seuss Enterprises announced it would cease to publish the books due to racist and insensitive imagery. ”It is important to recognize that what society understands to be relevant and/or common knowledge changes over time, and so too does the Library and the needs of the communities it serves,” Patrick Molloy, a spokesperson with the library, said in a statement. “Library staff encourage patrons of all ages to engage critically with our materials, but materials that become dated or that foster inaccurate, culturally harmful stereotypes are removed

Apologizing for your very existence isn’t just for straight White guys anymore. A coffee mug emblazoned with an apology for the dreaded trio of being straight, White and male now retails on Amazon for $12.95 with the sales pitch that it “makes a perfect gift for everyone.” Once associated with Hollywood virtue signalers or those whose racist behavior was exposed by social media or video, apologizing for a White birthday suit has become more mainstream.(Snip) In Amherst, Massachusetts, the Town Council issued a letter of apology and recommended its members for anti-racism training after a White female councilor attempted to participate

A French schoolgirl has admitted to telling lies about a teacher who was beheaded after an online hate campaign kickstarted by her comments.
The unidentified girl had claimed that high school teacher Samuel Paty showed an image depicting the Prophet Mohammed during a lesson on free speech. She said that Paty had asked Muslim pupils to leave the class before he showed the image, which had appeared in the satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo. On Monday, the girl's lawyer revealed that his client, 13, had confirmed that she did not actually attend the class and was off sick at the time.

President Biden on Monday seemed to forget Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin’s name at a White House event—calling the Pentagon chief “the guy who runs that outfit over there.” Biden was announcing the nomination of two female generals to lead US military combatant commands. “And I want to thank the sec—the, the, ah former general. I keep calling him general, but my, my—the guy who runs that outfit over there,” Biden said.(Snip) Earlier at the event, Biden mentioned the Defense Department leader by his name, “Secretary Austin,” while appearing to read from a teleprompter.

NYC has a system wherein taxicabs must have a "medallion" license to operate, which sells for some $250,000. The debt service on the loans to buy the medallions is hurting cabdrivers during the Great Pandemic, but instead of NYC or the lenders working something out, in comes the US taxpayer to the rescue, and we don't even get dinner and a movie beforehand or a cigarette afterward. A nice thought as April 15 approaches.
