If Joe Biden gives a State of the Union address sometime this March, it will be late, based on precedence, but still in accordance with an 87-year tradition. All of which brings up the question: if Joe Biden does not deliver or cannot deliver a State of the Union address, is he truly the president?
In 38 days, he has not held a full press conference. Each of us who frequent Townhall.com and read the articles has known for quite a while that poor old Joe lacks the cognitive capability to handle the job.

President Trump's CPAC speech was so powerful that it will pressure Team Biden to have a SOTU Address and hope he doesn't drool on himself.

The President did give the State of the Union Address, yesterday at CPAC.

This "State of the Union" stuff is sheer nonsense. Please, "Patriots" point out the Constitutional requirement for any more than a Presidential communication to Congress "from time to time". This meme should go where all stupid stuff goes...

Since every member of Congress, the Supreme Court and executive branch have undoubtedly been vaccinated, the China virus cannot seriously be used to cancel an in person state of the union address. Perhaps the real reason that Fauci and his minions resist any attempt to return to normalcy is to keep the senile Biden under wraps for the next four years.

#4; you are correct as far it goes, but anyone with common sense knows there's more to him not giving the address other than because it is not required. His handlers want to keep him hidden as much as possible, and for good reason.

I still want to know who is writing those Executive Orders that they push in front of Old Joe to sign!!! He doesn't even read them or understand them much less write them. Were they written before the election so they could be signed day one? We pay the bills and have a right to know. I don't care about the State of the Union address. It is just a show. I want to know who is the real power behind the facade.

Legally by constitutional standards Biden is required to give a SOTU speech, or at least submit a written report to congress and release that publicly. No other way around it. But then Obama did flaunt the legal requirement about submitting budgets for 8 years. Instead relying on those CR's so he could skim money off the taxpayer dime.

Who is writing the EOs? Well,we know who had a "phone and a pen" and lots of experience with EOs. It has been suggested that what we now have is Obama's third term. And after Marxist takeover will come his "Muslim religion." Now is the time to fight with all your might. The first thing is to get rid of the counting machines and other election fraud.

Anybody supporting Biden's right to ignore giving his yearly report to congress, needs to go research the constitutional requirement of this speech. It is also about respecting the part congress plays in the governing of this nation. It is required, and Heritage has some very good information on the subject.

Maybe I'm taking it in a way that was unintended, but addressing fellow posters who may have a different opinion as "Patriots" seems dismissive and confrontational. Has discussion of the State of the Union Address somewhere by someone been deemed moot/debunked and not to be further tolerated?
There's a much larger issue of Biden's mental capacity to be examined, and this just happens to be a curious indicator of his problems. I'd say we all, Patriots and "Patriots" alike, now know that it is not mandated by the Constitution.

#4 is correct that the "State of the Union" address is not specifically in the Constitution, however over a long period of time it has become an accepted and important custom for the president to address the nation from a joint session of Congress. It has become a part of the fabric of our Republic as much as standing for the playing of the National Anthem before sporting events. That is nowhere in the Constitution either. Just as we defend standing respectfully for our Flag and Anthem, we expect and deserve to hear from the person deemed holding the office of president to address the nation once a year from the Capitol of our nation.
Also, the address of a president just assuming office is not referred to as the "State of the Union"; it is an "Address to the Nation". Just wanted to set the record straight for those playing along a home.

As long as Biden and his wife play along with the leftist Democrats, the leftist Democrats and their media puppets will continue to claim that instances of Biden’s age related declining cognitive abilities being self highlighted by Biden just about anytime Biden makes public comments, is just “Joe being Joe”, and the Democrat low information voters who don’t have a clue will either believe what the leftist Democrats and the media tell them, or will simply shrug it off.

Covid is NOT the excuse. There was an article posted here over the weekend, and it stated there had been a threat made to blow up the whole Capitol. Seriously. *eye roll*

You can't start a State of the Union with words "what am I doing here"? Make a montage shown on a jumbotron like "salute the Marines" "you are a lying dog face pony soldier" "I don't work for you man" it's on You Tube if you care to see all this.

#22, the "acting chief of police" actually compared the "plot" to that very show. They can't even come up with anything original when they lie. I truly believe that, with that as their excuse, they'll HAVE to deliver it virtually, don't you know, which, of course, provides the perfect opportunity to tape and edit the speech over as many days as needed, releasing the final version, making Joe appear (almost) coherent.

If a tree falls in the forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound? If a desiccated fraud owned and operated by left wing interest groups does not give a SOTU speech, does anybody care?

#7 - Everyone knows...it's BS. So stop slinging it. It diminishes reality. Go after the Democrats and useful idiots who elected this guy...bell their cat with Joe and his performance.
#9/11 - And what exactly are those requirements? HINT: It's not a yearly requirement. Is Joe in any violation? How so? As for "respecting the part congress plays in the governing of this nation", how would you describe the public "respect" shown Congress since November 6th? Think the Congress has done a "respectable job" with the recent election, for example? Many of us here apparently owe Congress an apology for our apparent disrespect.
#12 - Discuss all you like, but let's not distort the Constitutional requirements and righteously make demands that simply aren't there. (I presume you have read them.) That's a difference between patriots and "patriots".
#13 - Thank you for that. Tradition is what it is, and so is precedent. Precedent has it where Presidents past submitted written messages rather than hold a self-aggrandizing television extravaganza. In fact, according to the House Historian, through 2020 only 97 were presented in-person. From 1800 to 1913, none were. BTW: Who was president in January 1981? That old, doddering fellow...the actor. He didn't present one. Or, January 1973, after a landslide re-election...that guy who later resigned.
This demand for a SOTU is partisan horse-hockey.

Biden's handlers can't expect Biden to read a teleprompter for more than 2 minutes.
Anyway, the dems can't top last years SOTU when the Presidential medal was presented to Rush.

'Doctor' Jill is not going to remove Joey from office as long as she can keep him awake so that SHE can be President. This whole affair is a travesty and there're a whole lot of people that need to be imprisoned for life!

The State of the Union speech is being recorded right now. As soon as they have enough usable takes to stitch into a 15-minute address - - they'll broadcast it. Yesterday - - they had to toss out Take #314 - - because Joe flubbed it again.
