The cynic in me thinks the press will urge a nationwide lockdown unless and until a Democrat sits in the White House at which time they will take a harder look at the diminishing Covid-19 fatalities and the increasing cost of the lockdowns. In the meantime frustrated, increasingly broke Americans are asking what happened to such rights as free speech, assembly, worship, freedom from unreasonable searches and seizures, right to bear arms, right to due process in criminal cases and privacy.

I cannot see where the federal gov''t has a constitutionally compelling reason to make sure we all don't get sick. Not overwhelming the hospitals IS arguably reason for lockdown, but not a further shutdown of all we do. If gov't can move to protect us from illness - then it can compel all sorts of things in the name of our individual health and life choices.

Cruel and unusual to let my wife cut my hair!

Why aren't cashiers at Wal Mart, Target, Home Depot, liquor stores and convenience stores dropping like flies? If these "essential" workers are ok, why aren't "non-essential" workers allowed to work?

I'm a guy. I have hair. I have a regular hair cutter. She has our contact info. Had a haircut 2 days ago. She does house calls and gave my wife a trim while she was here. Take your shutdown order and stuff it. We are all sick and tired of your BS Mayor Sylvester Turner.

I for one have been amused watching the male and female news people hair askew, slicked and matted down, lacking beautiful highlights and waves and curls, sticking out from behind the ears, fluffing out on top and sides. Little human chia pets of all shapes and sizes.

Governor Kemp of Georgia opened the hair salons Friday. My wife was standing in the door of hers when they unlocked it.

A hair stylist in our area made the top of the news cast by Demanding all hair salons be kept closed, She prattled on about cutting hair being a death trap, etc.. Not surprisingly they did not give equal time to those who are more than ready and willing to cut someone's hair.

You CAN go to the hairdresser, if she is willing and you keep it quiet. Or she can come to you, better yet. There may be some things you can't do, such as eat out, but there is much you can do. Walk the dog, the long way. No dog? Pretend you had one and you are looking for it. All sorts of excuses will work. Just go ahead and do it! (After all, there are no actual laws against it.}

I'm sure NC Governor Roy Cooper who appears on TV daily gets his wife to cut his hair and apply makeup.

My guy is cutting hair anyway just to pay his rent on his business. We have to sneak in the back door, pay cash, and park in the back out of sight of the road just to get our hair cut. It's just ridiculous. Wear masks. Not only is closing hair places stupid, but I'm still trying to figure out why golf courses are closed.

I have a friend who's brother is a hair stylist to the very wealthy (all of them liberals) and they are mostly just calling for home visits. Apparently, some animal's hair is more equal than others.

Trump had the authority to do so, since he could claim national security. And he was given the authority by congress, and to some extent the governors. But, when it was apparent that it was fizzling out in all states but NY/CA/NJ, he should have ordered a reopening of the nation with limited exceptions, like quarantine of the retirement homes, and that sort of thing. Keeping us shut down right now is beyond ridiculous and Trump just needs to stop with the dithering. Let the press howl. They will anyway. The Commissars acting as governors are ruining this nation, and it is all by design. How is Trump stopping that also not in the national best interests?
The best interests of the nation trump the states rights, and no amount of wishing on the part of the media and democrats is gonna make that go away. I find it highly hypocritical of the news anchors to not have their hair done. They have make up people, why not have those folks do a quick trim while they are at it?
