Muslims in Minneapolis say they are thrilled with a “historic” moment for the community—a call to prayer called the adhan echoing throughout a major U.S. city. Imam Abdisalam Adam, who is on the board of the Dar al-Hijrah mosque, along with others spoke with Al Jazeera on Friday about the Ramadan milestone. “There’s definitely a lot of excitement. Some people see it as historic,” he said Friday.(Snip) A noise permit was granted for the prayer, although locals say more can be done for the Muslim community. “Right now, we’re waiting for a bailout for our micro-businesses who comprise our Somali malls,

If there is no noise ordinance in your town work to get one established. Minneapolis is one pathetic excuse for an American city.

How about The Star Spangled Banner every morning. It is "historic", a call to national unity and a reminder we are the land of the free and the home of the brave!

Just like camels....let them get their 'historic' call to prayer, and pretty soon you have the whole stinking camel in the tent with you...send them all back whence they came..we don't need their cult masquerading as a 'religion'...

It's time we bring out the boom sticks and fireworks and start shooting them off to drown out the caterwauling mullahs.

Barack Hussein Obola, during the 2008 campaign, was interviewed by CBS, I recall.
Barack said the Muslim call to prayer was the most beautiful sound in the world. He then proceeded to sing it, pitch perfect, according to CBS. But Barack is not a muslim?
And nitwit voters elected him president, twice.
That's hard to believe.

Will be interesting to see if they restrict gatherings in mosques due to coronavirus as they did with Christian churches.

That the viper's nests called mosques are permitted to exist, and considered to be valid religious establishments will one day be recognized as one of the greatest, most fundamental failings of our system of government.
Islam is a cancer on humanity, and all traces should be eradicated.

Are church bells / carillons allowed, or is that a violation of the noise ordinance? A single muzzle complaint would get christian bells silenced, but a 99.99% vote of the citizens wouldn't get this caterwauling shut down.

Is Ramadan the reason why MN's Gov is giving permission for some business to reopen on Monday? I didn't see a full list of places that are allowed to reopen but I wonder if the two are connected.

By broadcasting this , it is forcing their " religion " on other people. And no, it's not the same as church bells.

Historic as the first adhan call in a major U.S. city, may it also be historic as the last adhan call in a U.S. city.
Wasn't the Islamic morning call legalized in Dearbornistan years ago? So this implies that Dearborn is not a major U.S. city.

"And no, it's not the same as church bells."
The Angelus (traditionally rung at noon from bell towers and carillons at Catholic churches, schools, etc.) is very much a call to prayer. And the hourly bells at many convents and monasteries are their hourly call to prayer.

Meetings at the mosques is only a part of the Ramadan problem.
There are also "Iftar" dinners where large groups of family plus friends share a meal at dusk when they break their fast.
Just like at the meat packing plants, these immigrants' lifestyle is simply foreign to being clean from coronavirus.

What happened to "Separation of church and state" the lefties are always crying about. By allowing that noise to blare throughout the city which will disturb all the non-Muslims and infringe on their right to peace, the government is essentially endorsing that religion over others.

Come on, Americans! Use some good old American ingenuity. Fire up the grilled and cook a pound of bacon or two and let that delicious odor permeate the air. Put on some bagpipers playing Amazing Grace on a loud speaker. Be disruptive. It boggles the mind that here we are after 9/11 a few short years ago and we are allowing this in your face disrespectful spectacle to take place. It is their way of letting us know, that they are here and have no intention of leaving. With each accommodation we make, they know they are succeeding in their strategy to force us to submit. It really is ridiculous.

And remember this isn't simply ringing bells or even a call to prayer, this is an Islamic prayer to Allah, their god. People who are not Muslim are being forced to listen to Muslim prayers. Can you imagine if a Catholic Church asked to get a noise permit to broadcast the Rosary over loud speakers what would happen? We are a country of lawyers. Where are they all on this?

A modest accommodation, for starters. How about setting aside a few days a month where all women must wears hijabs, under penalty of caning, or when the truly devout can hurl homosexuals off the tops of buildings?
