The doors to the Magic Kingdom may not reopen for a year due to strict social distancing measures enforced as the coronavirus pandemic spreads across the country.Disney, which shuttered the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, Calif. and Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Fla. on March 12, will likely be unable to reopen the parks until Jan. 1, according to a report from UBS analyst John Hodulik.“Profitability will likely be impaired until there’s a vaccine,” Hodulik said. “We believe parks’ profitability will be impaired for a longer period of time given the lingering effects of the outbreak

Don't even need to read this. I call BS. Disney World (in FL) will reopen in June.

I don't think that Disney or the workers will like it much. Does not seem reasonable at all.

"Until there's a vaccine?" Please. May as well go out of business now.

A billion plus in bonuses and they will stop revenue for a year. Don't think so.

Disney should stay closed after what it's become. Too sad.

A little karma for charging over $100/person just to enter the park.

They just announced how sunshine, warmer weather reduces the virus' affect.
Both FL and CA have lots of sunshine for longer duration than most areas.
Plus, isopropyl alcohol wipes it out on surfaces in less than 1 minute (just by spraying).
Disney resorts are typically some of the cleanest places you'll ever attend too.

Gee, how much will Taxpayers have to give them in their bailout? A trillion$$??? After all, they are "too big to fail' . an own so much of the media, that they will sway 'public opinion' to make sure their executives and 'talent' are not harmed by their own fears and stupidity.

There will be thousands of restaurant and hotel workers in Anaheim very sorry to see this, not to mention the city itself. I hope this is not going to be the future of California Adventure, The Pond, Anaheim Stadium, Dodger Stadium, SoFi (Rams and Chargers) Stadium, Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, Rose Bowl, Stapes Center, Santa Anita and Del Mar race tracks, Universal Studios, Knott's Berry Farm, Medieval Times, Adventure City, Magic Mountain, Legoland, Wild Animal Park, Sea World, and the Los Angeles and San Diego Zoos. Along with Disneyland, they are destinations impacting the entire hospitality industry of Southern California.

ummmmm......no. They can open and maintain distancing by limiting the number of people in the park at any given time. It might actually be a more enjoyable experience.
I refuse to fork out 100 a day to wait in in the lines that que up in Disney. Life is too short to spend a day in line to get on 8 rides.

Won't miss them. Wild horses could not drag me to either one. I boycott anything Disney for its corporate political correctness and virute signalling.

I'm hearing that we are expecting a new round of this Covid virus in the fall.
Sorry, Disney, but it's you clowns that supported the people who are creating the panic. Now, you're dying on you own vine. Poetic justice.

You must notice that they speak of profitability.
What they are saying is that not enough people may show up for them to make a profit.
It has nothing to do with concern over those who go there.
They are already grossly overpriced for what you get when you get there which is hours of standing in line for a momentary ride.
If a family can manage to get into 5 or 6 rides during the day they will leave exhausted from the waiting and standing.
Everything there from the parking to the rides to the food service is grossly overpriced.

Too many leftist pinheads with too much time on their hands and an agenda to push sitting around speculating about things they know little about. The head of WDW was appointed to the reopen Florida task force. Fat chance he's going to let his park sit idle into the new year.
