I’ve never been to one of his restaurants, purchased one of his cookbooks or tuned into one of his MasterClass lessons. Hell, I’ve never even looked up one of his recipes online for free. But I will watch the s*** out of Chef Gordon Ramsay television programming.
I first became acquainted with Ramsay while flipping through the channels about a decade ago, back when plugging a cord into the cable jack in your wall would still bring you all the basic channels. Landing on Fox, I caught an early episode of Ramsay’s cooking competition show Hell’s Kitchen and immediately became transfixed by his obsession

I love hell's Kitchen and the various MasterChefs. Train wrecks are always fun to watch and no one can melt down like Ramsey. And he was a good choice to replace the departed Anthony Bourdain in the food travel genre. I avoid the makeover shows. As the article says, they're formulaic and predictable, and they've been done dozens of times by other celebs.

I know one of the contestants who won MasterChef. He said Gordon Ramsay was very helpful and professional. I like Ramsay, he doesn't care for screw-ups.

The world needs more straight talk and less political correctness. He delivers both.

For all his bluster, which I don't care for, he is amazingly kind to the children. Quite encouraging.

He's got lots of Ca-hones to be such a nasty person while the other people in the kitchen have large Knives in their hands...it's only a matter of time....

While I realize that the people that sign up to appear on these shows probably know what they are getting into, I get no entertainment or joy out of watching someone berating someone else while the camera is running knowing millions of people will see it. It's just food. I don't care if Gordon Ramsey is a sweetheart off camera to kids or puppies. What I see is an obnoxious person getting joy out of embarrassing people in front of a camera.

I didn't recognize the name, read that article intro and connected it to those advertisements for shows.
I've seen the ads, but they repelled me rather than attracted. Cooking never seemed to be a competition, or a speed challenge, and adding that seems like a travesty, not an attractant.

Oh, and I loved Alton Brown's "Good Eats", have seen them all multiple times, and have all his books, and have cooked from them a number of times, learned a lot.

There are tiers to the talent necessary to make it onto the various shows. Hell's Kitchen has a lower bar for example than Top Chef. Anyone who has worked in a kitchen for any length of time could communicate with the rest of the team better than what is seen on HK. I find it kind of satisfying to see them slapped around verbally for their ineptitude. And for Pete's sake figure out how to make risotto before signing up.

I love him. He made himself with his ‘mean guy’ schtick. Very smart. He’s not everyone’s cup of tea, I get that. You should see him on his young daughter Tillie’s show which airs in England—he is a nice guy who loves his family and it’s genuine. We’ve eaten at several of his restaurants in Vegas—highly recommend them all. His fish ‘n chip shop there behind the Flamingo is to die for...and his Hell’s Kitchen in front of Caesar’s is great. Cook on, Gordon!

Gordon Ramsay, the cooking diva, has anger management issues. He is hard to watch.

“Gorgon” ramsey gets his jollies berating & belittling people who really want to be better . Cooking is supposed to provide nourishment / nurturing to people . He us really an anti chef ..kicking them in their weak spots for theater .
OTOH , Alton Brown & Ina , and the Pioneer lady truly live/live food , teaching & serving it . My cuppa tea .
