The problem with people referring to this bizarre pandemic life limbo as “the new normal” is that there are people out there, both in and out of positions of responsibility, who are digging this opportunity to boss us around. And it is troubling to see that there are a number of prominent folks who are in no hurry to curtail their ability to boss us around. We need to note carefully who these people are and ensure that they never get a chance to control anything again.
You are starting to see more of that as this drags out. You have got Nancy Pelosi, Gavin Newsom and others

Thanks Kurt! Spot on.
Underscores why we cannot take the November election for granted.
Oh, and thank God I live in the rural South.

This will be a yearly occurrence, just like government shutdown over the budget, now that the media knows the effect. Strange how the projected dead went from one to two million to 200,000. I guess they realized they'd never be able to produce that many fake corpses.

Thank God for the Electoral College! NY State and NY City may have a lot of people stacked up like rats in high rise petri dishes...but they only have a set number of votes for POTUS! Levels the playing field for those of us who have made different life choices. I too am weary of self appointed "experts" telling me what I can and can't do with my life and I don't believe America is going to stand for this stuff much longer! Public safety must always be balanced with individual freedom!!! I don't need to be protected from myself! I will handle that! Politicians like Sleepy Joe and Nancy and the Press love this Commie "Daily Directives" to the PLEBS in middle America...umm...no thanks!

My coworkers and I deal with one of these little dictators everyday. It was tolerable before the pandemic, now it's horrific. And they are all unelected.

Yesterday, I found out I needed a new filter for my HVAC. Had I lived in Vermont, I couldn't buy one.

Within a week the government took over our lives. It was easy.

In 2019 in the US we had almost 35,000 deaths from the regular flu. We are still not even close to that number. It important to keep things in perspective.

Wanna get elected in November to any local, city, state or federal office? Promise the citizens that you will never allow what has happened with this horrific government overreach to ever happen again, under your watch. You will be a shoo in.

Yesterday we ( four of us sitting six feet apart outside on the patio in the bright sun) had this very discussion about not caring what New York and Andy Cuomo does in that state 2000 miles away. It sounds selfish but we are losing our freedoms to move about because of 'nanny states' enjoying the Chinese virus egged on by the Trump hating media. Obama never had to contend with this when he just declare us safe and hit the links never to be heard from again while his media applauded.
President Trump knows this is wearing thin on the public the end of this month might be the limit or sooner like Easter before we start open season on toilet paper hoarders.

Americans have already failed the test. They submitted to hysteria and “experts”, and the politicians filled the demand to “do something”, as they always do. Slam dunk...follow the advice of experts.
In the meantime Americans have accepted usurpation of the Constitution and creative use of laws, such as the Defense Production Act, to effectively nationalize private property. They have accepted central production authority. They have accepted drone and location data surveillance for our good.
Americans failed the test. We’ll discover that the next time a “national emergency” sends them back under their beds.

Crises gave us the EPA, ( pollution) The EPA ( fuel supplies) the DHS ( 9-11) and the TSA ( same) .
I'm waiting for them to make my life easier and more pleasant rather than being more restricted.
Whatever new autonomous agency comes out of CV-19, you can bet it won't be good.

"this is why we are not a technocracy" but in effect that is what the federal bureaucracy was on its way to becoming. This is what was exposed in the indignant impeachment testimony of the witlesses. THEY are the knowledgeable ones, the smart ones, the ones with all the policies and procedures that they function by and want us to be controlled by. It is a monstrous behemoth. Trump has wounded it but it is far from dead.
Right now, we are a Republic in name but just barely in fact. The demons are howling at our gates and some of them even have elected representatives doing their will.

Here in Utah Gov. Herbert is getting his last shots in at the populace before this scam blows up. Stuff opens back up, then they get bullied into shutting back down. He's also making it difficult to get HCQ.
