GOP Texas Sen. Ted Cruz expressed his frustration with the delay in announcing the results of the Iowa caucuses by asking how Democrats will be "in charge of our healthcare" if they aren’t able to count votes.
“Dems, right now, they can’t stand in a gymnasium and count who stands under which sign, and they’re the ones who want to be put in charge of our healthcare and everything else in our life,” the Republican told Fox & Friends.
“I mean, these are the socialist candidates who say, 'We know best; trust us to run your life.' Well, guys, how about figure out how to count your votes first?” he added.
MSNBC political analyst Zerlina Maxwell referred to the Iowa caucuses as the “perfect example of systemic racism.”
Reacting to reports of mediocre turnout, Maxwell also took a shot at President Trump's hard-line immigration policies.

A key point of reference is ABC reporter Kendall Karson revealing the DNC came in and took over the tabulations of the Iowa Caucus result prior to this release. “One Democratic official I spoke to is being told that the DNC is “taking over” the accounting of results. This is important because it highlights that The Club decided what partial results, from what locations, showing what outcomes, the Club wants to put forth. Put another way, the DNC is releasing a specific 62% of the result to generate a specific Iowa narrative.

President Trump told network anchors Tuesday that he thinks Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez will run against Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and “kick his ass” in the 2022 Democratic primary in New York.
“I think she is going to kick his ass,” Mr. Trump predicted at a White House lunch that was otherwise off-the-record. The comment was reported by Fox News anchor Bret Baier.
Mr. Schumer is up for reelection two years from now. Ms. Ocasio-Cortez is a freshman lawmaker who unseated veteran Rep. Joe Crowley, a former member of the House Democratic leadership team, in the party primary.
Sen. Susan Collins announced Tuesday she will vote to acquit President Trump in his impeachment trial, becoming the second moderate Republican standing behind the president and not to break with her party.
The Maine Republican, who is up for reelection this year, said the Senate must consider what effect removing a duly elected president would have on the nation.
Ms. Collins said the president’s July 25 phone call at the heart of the impeachment proceedings was “improper and demonstrated very poor judgment,” but she said there was conflicting evidence about the motives behind Mr. Trump’s request for a corruption probe
Regarding the failed impeachment of our president, I have a few observations.
The Democrats led by the Hon. Adam B. Schiff charged President Trump with “abuse of power” and the risible charge of “obstruction of Congress.” The historically-minded reader will remember these charges as being what Republicans in the 1930s and in the 1960s quite properly called the New Deal and the Great Society, respectively.

The Navy SEAL commander, who clashed with President Donald Trump over disciplining of retired naval officer Eddie Gallagher last year, will reportedly step down from his post later this year. According to The Intercept, Rear Adm Collin Green, the commander of the Naval Special Warfare Command, will be resigning in September.
Green's retirement follows the controversial court-martial of Gallagher who was convicted of posing for a photo with the corpse of a dead ISIS fighter. But a court martial cleared him of murder charges when a medic confessed to the Afghanistan war crime after military prosecutors granted him immunity.
Maine Republican Sen. Susan Collins, a key swing vote in President Trump's impeachment trial, announced she would vote to acquit on both articles of impeachment -- noting that Democrats' "abuse of power" charge "did not even attempt" to allege that Trump had committed a crime, and instead constituted a "difficult-to-define, non-criminal act." Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) said on Monday that she would not vote to convict President Donald Trump, but also offered a damning portrayal of Congress for its handling of the impeachment proceedings.

COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa — As of 6:30 a.m. CDT the day after, media outlets had results from 0% of Iowa precincts, and 90% of the media reaction to the caucuses was about the state Democratic Party's failure to get and report results.
But we shouldn't pretend the results are a total mystery. From data reported by campaigns and media outlets, three things are pretty clear:
1.) Joe Biden bombed, finishing a distant fourth.
2.) Bernie Sanders was at or near the top of the field.
3.) Pete Buttigieg outperformed the polls to finish at or near the top.
The large campaigns have precinct captains in nearly every precinct who call in results.

The firm responsible for the app that caused delays in counting votes during Monday’s Iowa caucuses had a role in developing an outlet promoting Democratic propaganda outlets ahead of the 2020 election.
Campaign consulting nonprofit ACRONYM owns Shadow Inc., a company that operates the app Democrats hoped would simplify the process of counting the votes in Iowa’s roughly 1,700 precincts. Officials across the state struggled to use the app, leaving the results of the caucuses in limbo.

The Iowa Democratic presidential caucuses are being called a disaster, a nightmare, and an epic fail. In the subsequent round of finger-pointing, a consensus scapegoat has emerged — a mobile app paid for by the Iowa Democratic Party that was supposed to collect and report the results of Monday night’s vote.
The app was reportedly developed in secret by a for-profit technology firm with the too-good-to-be-true name of Shadow, Inc. While little was previously known about the app, new revelations are quickly emerging, including the firm’s ties to Hillary Clinton.

“Today, I dismissed VA Deputy Secretary James Byrne due to loss of confidence in Mr. Byrne’s ability to carry out his duties. This decision is effective immediately,” VA Secretary Robert Wilkie said in a statement.

Thunberg, 17, captured global attention for leading a student strike in her home country of Sweden to raise awareness about climate change. Jens Holm and Hakan Svenneling, both members of Sweden's Left Party, argued that Thunberg’s international tour to combat climate change is worthy of the 2020 Nobel Peace Prize. Federal officials on Monday announced the seizure of about 1,400 shark fins that were hidden in boxes in a ship docked at PortMiami late last month.
The severed fins were mixed in with other “non-protected” and “non-regulated” species in 18 boxes, a spokeswoman with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service said in an email. Inspectors found the boxes on Jan. 24.
Shark finning, where the fins are cut off and the rest of the shark’s body is discarded, has been illegal under federal law in the United States since 2000.
