Setting aside the angry, in-your-face delivery, President Trump’s State of the Union speech was tremendously well crafted. Trump made the best possible case for his administration, highlighting the salutary effects of conservative policies. Powered by unsustainable debt and loose monetary policy, but also by smarter tax policies and deregulation, the U.S. economy does indeed boast the best topline numbers in U.S. history. Unshackled by a number of executive orders, health-care costs really are rising far more slowly than they have in many years -- even falling in some areas.

Joe Biden really doesn’t want to talk about son Hunter’s Ukraine windfall and thinks it’s outrageous that the media keep asking about it. Don’t they know whose side they’re on? The latest Biden blowup came Monday, as NBC’s Savannah Guthrie brought up the 50-grand-a-month Hunter drew from Ukrainian natural-gas firm Burisma — though Hunter knew zip about Ukraine or gas, except that dad was the White House point man on Ukraine. “No one’s found anything wrong with his dealings with Ukraine except they say it sets a bad image,” Joe answered. “Do you agree it sets a bad image?” Guthrie asked. The ex-veep’s reply: “Yes, and my son said that.”

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa—Heading into tonight’s Iowa caucus, the clock may be ticking faster on the Democratic presidential candidates than they believe. All of the leading contenders have campaigned energetically and extensively across the state during the past few days, but none have moved to sharply contrast themselves with their rivals. None of the candidates has offered a sustained challenge to Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont, who has surged to the lead in most Iowa polls and delivered an impressive show of strength on Saturday night with a raucous rally here that attracted some 3,000 people. Nor has former South Bend, Indiana, Mayor Pete Buttigieg or Senator Amy Klobuchar

The Iowa Democratic Party (IDP) still has not reported official vote totals in the critical Iowa caucuses as of early Tuesday morning, in a largely unexplained and unprecedented delay that has raised questions about the legitimacy of the contest -- and Democratic campaign officials are livid, Fox News has learned. The Trump campaign, meanwhile, openly suggested that the delay meant that the caucuses were being "rigged," and that the embarrassing night proved that the Democratic Party can't be trusted to run Americans' health care and implement sweeping new government programs. Even if a winner were ultimately announced, the chaos and confusion has seemingly erased any hope

As the Iowa Democratic Party continues to count the results of the first-in-the-nation caucus, the Fox News Voter Analysis – a poll of nearly 3,000 likely caucus-goers – provides important insight into voters’ views as they headed to caucus sites across the state. These results represent voters’ initial candidate preferences, and the state’s complicated caucus system means the final results may well differ from this data. The survey revealed that eight-in-ten attendees were angry at the Trump administration and most of the rest were dissatisfied. On that, at least, Iowa’s Democrats could agree. On other fundamental debates, however, caucus-goers were deeply split. Twice as many voters were looking for a candidate

When left-wing Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg was recovering from lung cancer treatment, right-wing media figures as a whole showed compassion by sending her well wishes and prayers, but religious scholar Reza Aslan, formerly of CNN, seems to have a different idea on how to publicly react to another fellow human being’s cancer diagnosis. In a tweet, Aslan wondered aloud if the world would, in fact, be a “better place” if conservative pundit Rush Limbaugh died of lung cancer — a disease he announced to be suffering from during his radio show on Monday.“Ask yourself this simple question

Parscale scoffed at Democrats for screwing up the caucuses while their candidates were calling for government control of health care. “It would be natural for people to doubt the fairness of the process,

“What a night!” said South Bend, Indiana Mayor Pete Buttigieg.Indeed, all this dumpster fire of an Iowa caucus was missing was a candidate who declared victory without a single vote being reported. But shortly after midnight eastern on Tuesday morning, Mayor Pete put the cherry on top of this hideous sundae with a confounding speech in which he seemed to proclaim himself the winner. Speaking to his supporters at his campaign headquarters in Des Moines, the former South Bend mayor strongly suggested that when the missing numbers finally do come in, he will emerge with the most delegates.

(Snip) It’s a struggle for me because I had to inform my staff earlier today. I can’t escape… Even though people are telling me it’s not the way to look at it, I can’t help but feel that I’m letting everybody down with this. But the upshot is that I have been diagnosed with advanced lung cancer, diagnosis confirmed by two medical institutions back on January 20th. I first realized something was wrong on my birthday weekend, January 12th.

Climate activist Greta Thunberg has been nominated for the 2020 Nobel Peace Prize by two Swedish lawmakers. Thunberg, 17, captured global attention for leading a student strike in her home country of Sweden to raise awareness about climate change. Jens Holm and Hakan Svenneling, both members of Sweden's Left Party, argued that Thunberg’s international tour to combat climate change is worthy of the 2020 Nobel Peace Prize. In nominating Thunberg, Holm and Svenneling said the teenager had “worked hard to make politicians open their eyes to the climate crisis.” They argued that reducing emissions and complying with the Paris Agreement is “an act of making peace.”

"In addition to the tech systems being used to tabulate results, we are also using photos of results and a paper trail to validate all that results match and ensure that we have confidence and accuracy in the numbers we report." Federal officials on Monday announced the seizure of about 1,400 shark fins that were hidden in boxes in a ship docked at PortMiami late last month. The severed fins were mixed in with other “non-protected” and “non-regulated” species in 18 boxes, a spokeswoman with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service said in an email. Inspectors found the boxes on Jan. 24. Shark finning, where the fins are cut off and the rest of the shark’s body is discarded, has been illegal under federal law in the United States since 2000.
