Trump Derangement Syndrome, now playing out in the impeachment proceedings in the House, would require a Shakespeare adequately to describe and understand the way it is playing out as a motivating factor in our politics. The Bard did give us a hint of what is going on in one of his more obscure yet fabulously entertaining works, The Winter’s Tale. That mysterious late drama is a meditation on irrational jealousy, tyranny, and injustice.
In the climactic scene in Act III of the play, when the innocent Queen Hermione is wrongly found guilty of adultery by her husband, King Leontes

FTA: ''The president, as he emphasized in a recent tweet, is seeking to “reveal, for the first time, how corrupt our system really is. I was elected to ‘Clean the Swamp,’ and that’s what I am doing.”
And I, for one, couldn't be happier. It's time for those arrogant crooks to be taken down and jailed, and yes, I have no doubt this is going to include some Republicans. Too damned bad.

So, Mr. Presser believes this "impeachment" is “what your jealousies awake, I tell you ’Tis rigour, and not law.” He's WRONG.
This is a profiteering cabal, call it The Swamp or UNIPARTY or whatever, that is defending its turf and ability to raid the US Treasury to spread it around among friends and family. As Dickens famously noted, the law is an ass. Now we will further discover that politics is more than a contact sport. The Swamp is far from drained...and those alligators will yet be coming out...The Dems blew it...it's soon to be up to the GOPe to sink Trump in '20.

Well said. By adhering to the Framer's definition, Barack Obama should have been the only President in US history to have been impeached. His crimes were actually serious enough for that action yet he has not been touched - yet. Skin color by kenyan birth saved his hide.
Pelosi is the worst of the Three Stooges attempting to bring down Donald Trump. She realized early on that there were no grounds for impeachment but she allowed herself to be led into a corner. She is the worst kind of politician and it looks like only death will relieve us of this incompetent fool. As for Schiff and Nadler, the stupidity of the voters and the timidity of the GOP will probably allow them to keep their offices.

This is a very accurate description of how mentally unstable Democrats have become. Perhaps they were that way all along.

This phony impeachment situation has me feeling a bit unsettled in my mind. I have difficulty making sense of discussions of it. There are too many names and accusations, dates and characters, and conclusions that seem to have no logic. And also too many good books detailing the entire sequence of events. Perhaps with time, there will be a succinct summary with a conclusion understandable to people of average common sense.

How long before Pelosi, Schiff, Nadler, et al, assign themselves the title "Generalissimo" complete with a uniform covered in medals? Isn't the way things usually go in a banana republic?

Shakespeare is way over my head. I'll take as an example The Queen of Hearts in Alice in Wonderland. Bat guano crazy demoncraps running in circles, chasing their tail, howling at the moon and yelling "Off with his head. Off with his head."
