Immigrants are what make America great. They should also run our foreign policy. That was the implicit message of former National Security Council official Fiona Hill’s testimony last week.
“This is a country of immigrants,” the British immigrant said. “Everyone immigrated to the United States at some time in their family history. And this is what, for me, really does make America great.”
Immigration, according to Hill, is the “essence of America.”
Hill’s comment was in response to House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) asking for her opinion about the criticism of Lt. Colonel Alexander Vindman,

If immigration is so wonderful, why doesn’t Hill go back to her former country and enjoy the results of immigration there? Of course, she will be in danger of being raped, beaten or knifed in the street, but at least she would be doing her part to support her beliefs.

Not just immigration but immigration with intent to contribute and improve.

Nope. Way too much, and way too uncontrolled immigration is destroying America now. This was a majority white European Christian country and needs to STOP importing people whose backgrounds and lifestyles and intentions for the future are not compatible with that. For example, bringing in Muslims is destructive since they absolutely refuse to integrate and instead intend to destroy the country as it was founded.

I’m so tired of the word play by the media.
We are a nation of LEGAL immigrants. Those that will come into this country and help support this nation. They are not here to change our laws and Constitution but to support and live by it.
Our nation use to be a nation of immigrants. Not anymore. We are very well established now. Being a LEGAL immigrant to this country is now a privilege

Remember when immigrants wanted to be Americans?
They learned to speak English.
They obeyed our laws. They didn't try to establish Sharia.
They applied to be naturalized and studied for it.
They worked hard and didn't come here for the entitlements.

What makes America great is NOT that we are a land of immigrants. It is that we are a country built on an IDEA of individual freedom and we have a constitution that protects those individual rights. That is what has caused other people to come here. We are much more than just a sanctuary for immigrants. Fiona seems to be lacking in her understanding of America, selling the country short.

She was born and raised in the UK. Didn’t come here until graduate school, I believe. So she is essentially a Brit. They have never understood our country. Many do not even like us and our country. But they really like living here. Even being paid to work in our government. That tells us a lot.

What Hill really wants is globalism (with her and her descendants on top of the societal ladder) masked as immigration, which is assumed to be noble in and of itself. It is a lie using wordplay to say that we are a nation of immigrants. Most Americans were born here.

Well, Fiona, I too am an immigrant, and unlike you, i am able to discern the difference between grateful legal immigrants and those who illegally cross our borders, show contempt for our country, break its laws, and drain our resources.
And if I may ask, with questionable logic like yours, how did you get that cushy job? National Security(!) Council? Really?

It would be interesting to know how many immigrants there are in the State Department who came to the USA, and obtained graduate degrees, became naturalized US citizens, and who were then hired by the State Department to formulate and carry out US foreign policies, including handing out US foreign aid monies to their native countries?
That certainly is material these days when most immigrants quietly retain the citizenship of their native countries after they apply for and are granted naturalized US citizenship. Today those immigrants are usually referred to as holding duel citizenship or as duel nationals. In those circumstances you would have to be a moron to believe that their allegiances are also not divided, or that they would enthusiastically support President Trump’s foreign policy agenda relating to putting “America First”.

Her statement in the hearings has as much relevance as saying the sun rises in the east and sits in the west. Irrelevant and stupid and we don't need or want your opinion.

Don't go there. We weren't immigrants, we were colonist and never went thru Ellis Island.
Not happy with 'immigrants' who come here and talk to US as authoritarians.
