DETROIT, Michigan—Former vice preisdent Joe Biden declared at the second Democrat debate in Detroit on Wednesday evening that he would fight climate change by eliminating coal, fossil fuels, and fracking.Biden was responding to criticism from Governor Jay Inslee of Washington state, who said — echoing earlier criticism of Biden by “Green New Deal” author Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) — that the former vice president was only proposing “middle ground solutions” to an urgent crisis.
CNN moderator Dana Bash then asked Biden to clarify where he stood on fossil fuels, and the following exchange ensued: Dana Bash: thank you, vice president. just to clarify,

This preposterous sort of virtue-signallung would be a death sentence to all countries seeking to pull themselves out of 3rd world status. Does Biden have any idea at all how many would die globally because of this policy? Does he, or any other Democrat, even care?

By eliminating coal, fracking, and fossil fuels how does our economy and VERY EXISTENCE happen?
Rush Limbaugh used to sarcastically keep an "Al Gore Doomsday Countdown" when he said about 15 years ago that we only had "10 years left"--
Then we were told we had only 12 years, and now it is back to ten years....
They have all signed off on this 'green new deal' which is nothing more than government control of EVERYTHING.
Its time to resist this idiocy of eading ourselves to our own slaughter by following the new 'bible' of the demonrat socialists and their lust for power

This position could cost him Pennsylvania and definitly takes West Virginia off of the table. And probably a number of other states.
Without fossil fuels, the entire US economy grinds to a halt with the world economy right behind it.

Democrats sure have grandiose plans to eliminate everything we depend on---and have us pay the rest of the world's bills! I just wonder how these Democrats think they have grown from nobodies into god like wisdom--and breathtaking power.

Many moons ago, Biden was pushing hard to block construction of the Alaska Pipeline. It was then I realized this buffoon was always going to be on the wrong side of every issue that benefited America and it's citizens.

Hey Joe do you know that a lot of pharmaceutical drugs are made from petrochemicals? So your policy will end those drugs because pharmaceutical drugs can be made from solar or wind power. Joe you're an idiot and that's why obama chose you as VP! You were obama's safeguard against impeachment!

That, Joe, is the sound of millions of votes whooshing towards Donald Trump! At least he’s is honestly dumb. Clinton won by pretending to be a moderate better than Biden is playing at it.

Bien Peasants volunteer to live like medieval serfs in service to their elite nobility. They peddle in on their bicycles and pay to listen to the Party Officials (that flew in on their private jets) lecture them on how they aren’t sacrificing enough.

Sure Joe. Let's go from being an oil and gas exporter to total dependence on the Saudis. That where your campaign funds are coming from?

Anyone remember the bumper stickers from the 73 energy crisis? Popular in Texas: "Let them freeze in the dark" and "Drive 80 mph and freeze a Yankee"
These may come back along with the Trump plastic straws.

The big, east-coast cities would die if Biden was capable of eliminating all that. Trucks, trains, ships and airplanes would no longer be able to deliver food, medicine, or any goods- due to lack of fuel. Electric vehicles would be no help, because the power plants would not be able to supply the electricity needed to charge the batteries. Fire trucks, EMT vehicles, and police cars would all be parked. Chaos would develop, with gangs stealing available food and other necessities from remaining stock in stores. Then, they would move into private homes, taking what they want and doing what they want to people. That includes the rich people, who's security would eventually collapse when out of ammo and overwhelmed by sheer numbers of attackers.
Go ahead Joe, and the rest of you democrats. Propose this ridiculous promise that you know you can't keep!

There is a flaw in #12's plan. If we stop breathing and expelling carbon dioxide, we die.
Our rotting corpses then emit methane.

Proving once again that the comparisons to the horrors of Stalin's central planning are far from simple hyperbole.
These people are dangerous. They are the crisis not the climate.

He just wants to ban them for everyone BUT the elite who run the government since they will need to travel around as they desire, and won't want to be constrained by not having air travel at their disposal.
And, all you who think autonomous vehicles are the way to go, just wait until they can control when and where you can travel, and how much you'll need to pay for that option. Once the government controls the means of travel, they can dictate who can, and when they can, actually travel.

Just more proof the Democrats actually believe the few remaining people within their narrow band constituency are the last people on the planet. They can not possibly believe they can win the Presidency with such absolute nonsense!
