President Donald Trump’s decision to name a staunch Republican ally with a limited background in spycraft to replace Dan Coats as the nation’s top intelligence official has aroused concern on Capitol Hill, including a warning to the White House from the Republican head of the Senate Intelligence Committee. But among veteran members of the nation’s intelligence agencies the mood is resignation.
In naming Texas Rep. John Ratcliffe to be Director of National Intelligence, Trump ignored a warning from Republican Sen. Richard Burr, the chairman of the intelligence committee, according to Congressional aides familiar with the matter.

Burr is a republican?? You could have fooled me. Burr & Warner’s are pathetic. Coats should have been replaced long ago. He was on TV daily trashing President Trump.

The head of the Intelligence committee is a disgrace and should be removed from office and his post asap. He is no more a republican than Warner is. His behavior in hearings is pathetic and he is nothing more than a tool for the leftists on that committee. My guess is he is part of the leaking that is always going on and the word is the rest of the committees have no respect or trust for him. So that tells me Trump has made another good choice. Someone who comes to the job with clear eyes and is not a part of the swamp.

If this appointment upsets the lying leaker of the "Intelligence" committee, it's certainly the right move. I think the deep-state traitors are finally worried that the whole house of cards is about to collapse. Good. It makes it easier to get them to roll over on their cohorts to save their own sorry hides. Godspeed, Mssrs. Ratcliff, Barr, Durham, et al. Destroy this cabal.

The head of security for Burr's Senate Intel committee was arrested last year for giving 3 reporters confidential information on issues the committee was working on. The official had been on the Senate Intel staff for 30 years. He also had a romantic relationship with one of the reporters, Ali Watkins, who worked at someplace like Buzzfeed at the time but of course ultimately was hired by the NY Times. Richard Burr should long ago have retired in disgrace and is lucky he's not in jail. The Senate Intel Committee is a danger to all Americans.

Ratcliffe will inject partisan politics into his new role? Unlike Burr and Coates? Have to wonder what Burr and Coates are trying to hide. Corruption in Washington runs deep. Whose side are these people on? Most likely, not America's.

Burr is deep state and he does not want the new DNI to declassify the smoking guns showing the corruption and partisanship in the Intelligence Services.

I think once Ratcliff gets in there, we're going to find out that the 17 intelligence agencies that said Russia meddled in the 2016 election were all lying.

Oh, oh, Coats and Burr are crapping their pants that their demonrat criminal activity is going to be exposed and don't tell me Burr is a Republican. He's a demonrat plant masquerading as a republican. In other words a RINO. Voters should remove him from office.

The fact that Ratcliffe (love the prophetic implication of that name) has no prior background or connections in the "intelligence" community is precisely why I think he's the right guy to clean it out. No more "buddy system" (like Mueller-Comey-Wray-etc.) to keep covering up prior misdeeds. Drain that swamp! Push those rats over that cliffe (sic).

The Abbott and Costello of the corrupt Senate intelligence committee warning about politics being injected into the intelligence services...give me a break, please! Coats didn’t share Trump’s vision and he’s gone, like any employee who isn’t loyal to his boss. Trump has a plan and he wants to see it executed. He doesn’t need an underling fighting him along the way to the objective. Coats is a good man but stuck in the old way of thinking. Furthermore, there wasn’t politics in the intelligence community during the coup? Again, give me a break. I’m surprised Coats lasted as long as he did. Either get with the program or your gone! The boss doesn’t need the headache of a recalcitrant employee.

I didn't know that Time still even existed.
I am sure it is still a leftist propaganda rag, although I haven't seen a copy in at least 5 or 10 years.
Considering the source.....the information that is provided is untrustworthy and probably false.

Burr is Mark Warner's meat puppet. Anything Burr is for, I am against - he is part of the problem, not the solution.

Raymond Burr would be a better and more reliable Senator than Richard RINO Burr who leaks secure information his committee deals with.
By the way, Raymond 'Perry Mason' Burr is deceased.
