A Grotesque Political Party

The United States has a long tradition of reliance on a two-party political structure. For that structure to function effectively both parties need to be competent and responsible. Unfortunately, that is not the case now.
The lineup of Democrat presidential candidates currently stands at 25 and growing. Conrad Black has aptly described them as “unelectable non-entities.” The long and growing list is more like a tower of babel than a collection of credible leaders. Evidence of that is that leading the race currently is former senator and vice president Joe Biden.
Beyond the confines of the Democrat Party the reaction to Biden’s candidacy is typically, “Is this a joke?”

Sad, but so true...
“The most incompetently managed, crime-ridden cities in the country are run solely by Democrats. If they can’t run cities why would anyone want them to run the country? Those cities should be seen as canaries in the coal mine.“

FTA "As Victor Davis Hanson wrote recently, “One way of envisioning the Democratic obsession with Trump is as an addiction.” Unfortunately, there are no rehab programs for political parties." Amen and why they need to be voted out of office!
# 1 that is the money quote from the article and why anyone with a brain will vote for President Trump. Trouble is our education system run by Democrats is producing scarecrows with no brains!
#2 is right Tony Sabell's comment at the end of the article is worth reading as is Arrest-George_Soros's comment!

Should a political party based on the Marxist principles of wealth confiscation and "redistribution", central planning, State control (of everything), compulsory "income equality" and collectivism over individualism - in other words, a political party that stands for shredding everything the Constitution stands for - even be allowed to exist in the USA? It's still a forbidden question, but never more relevant.

I'm with #6. For those old enough to remember, I'm reminded of a scene from old western movies, repeated many times -- The wagon train or stage coach is attacked by wild Indians (yes, I said it). One person, a man of the cloth or a do-gooder, suggests reason or a spirit of bipartisanship, stands to "connect" with them. Pincushion.

The way they parrot their talking points is barbaric acting like a pack of jackals spewing hatred and lies. They (politicians and media combined) remind me of the Charles Manson like cult of followers who will do anything they're told. I watched Pelosi trying to act with authority shaking her hand as she tried to accuse President Trump of blatant lies and innuendo. Then there's Chuck U Schumer and that slime ball Warner. They're not a party but a group of outlaws that need to be knocked down and defeated at the pols.

Back in 1828, John C. Calhoun created "The Nullifier Party" that lasted about 12 years! Basically the Nullifiers claimed states could "nullify" within their own borders any Federal law they didn't like --- specifically those concerning slavery. He had a number of supporters in both houses of Congress and large and wide support from local Southern citizens as well. It was as lunatic in its ideas as the modern Dem party. Hopefully, the modern party will be dissolved as well as this past reminder.

Very true. There were Dem presidents in the past that, while espousing wrong-headed policies, were not trying to undermine America and all she stood for. Along comes Hussein who wants to 'fundamentally transform' the country. If Biden somehow won, he would be a weak 1-term president desperately trying to appease the left wingers.

" For that structure to function effectively both parties need to be competent and responsible. Unfortunately, that is not the case now."
A significant contributor to the failure of competence and responsibility is the abject failure of the media. It is their job to review and fairly critique political actions. Then, when stupid things are done by politicians, it is called out and addressed. Now, however, the media is like a parent with a spoiled child. Johnny is never wrong and becomes a foolish, rotten brat. So dems have the proposal of programs that spend trillions of dollars and no plan to pay for them and the media act as bobble heads. The nitwits on the Left seeing proposals by the dems and acceptance by media think this stuff can actually be done.
"“One way of envisioning the Democratic obsession with Trump is as an addiction.” Unfortunately, there are no rehab programs for political parties"
And, unfortunately, rehab has a dismally low success rate. A question you might ask, would you put a person suffering under addition into a highly responsible position, like running the Country?

If anything in the party's platform or actions violates our constitution, they should not be allowed in the halls of congress. The democrat platform and actions are in direct violation of our constitution and their individual oath of office. Purge the traitors from our government, and don't stop with congress - clean out the state department and dismantle the so-called united nations. It is time!

The dim party and its propaganda arm, the msm, are politically bankrupt. It's been the same talking points and policies for the last 75 years - pro choice (pro murder of the unborn), free health care, world with no borders, government for the people, anti-Semitic, social reform, women's rights, global warming, gun control, anti-Christian, etc. They think if they keep saying the same lies loud enough and long enough, the commoners will start to believe these as true.
When you look at the dims and the left in general, you see individuals who aren't in control of their own lives. How can we expect such individuals to control our lives.

What IS 'grotesque' is that there are enough unthinking, idiot voters to put the RATs back in control of the House. Cannot for the life of me see how anyone could even consider voting 'DemocRAT' with all the unAmerican, baby-killing & illegal-coddling baggage these morons carry. Bah!

True for the most part, but politicians on both sides learned long ago that "public service" was just an easy way to get rich. That's when the spiral downward began...
