With border crossings at their highest level in more than 12 years and congressional Democrats intent on blocking desperately needed humanitarian aid and border security resources, the Trump Administration is once again left as the last line of defense at the border.
On Thursday, the administration rolled out a new policy aimed at encouraging Mexico to do more to crack down on the thousands of Central American migrants passing through their country on the way to the United States to claim asylum.
Acting Homeland Security Secretary Kevin McAleenan described the three efforts the United States wants to see from Mexico:

Bovard packs this article with some very important information. Example:
This is where the “safe third country” doctrine comes in. Under international law known as the Dublin Regulation, migrants seeking asylum are required to claim it in the first safe country they enter. The theory behind this is that if migrants are truly seeking shelter from persecution, rather than simply trying to use the system to reach a specific destination, they will stop in the first place they find relief.
The Heritage Foundation’s Hans von Spakovsky explained it this way,
Passing through another country without seeking asylum undercuts any claim made upon arrival at the U.S. border.
Do read this article. Bovard is always worth a read.

One of the country's biggest problems is the cowardice of Congress. Especially Republican representatives and senators. The whole of Congress is to be condemned for their lack of action to protect our borders. Don't vote for incumbents..

MEXICO !!!! or let me be a little more precise. American and OTHER corporations who decided to set up their plants and warehouses in MEXICO !!! Time to shut this BS down, you've been called. Time to cough up enough cash to build a wall if you EVER want to do business in the USA again. Oooops we mean a wall on Mexico's southern border, and "what the" I guess the Northern one too. Tickticktick time's up.

Double down on the wall. Work around the clock if necessary.
Erect signs at the borders stating we have no more room or free stuff. If you have the money, you can buy food, housing and medical care. It ain't free anymore. No money? Then go home.

All the occurrences from the 1990s with the federal courts making the immigration laws instead of the Congress did not fall into place through happenstance. Since long before the 1990s the UniParty Congress has abrogated their constitutional power to make effective immigration laws, because that UniParty cabal wants a massive flow of illegal aliens into the USA to continue indefinitely. The Democrat segment of the UniParty Congress has two goals when it comes to immigration, both illegal and legal, to flood the USA with poor, uneducated, and socialist minded foreigners who will sojourn in low income communities politically controlled by the Democrats, and have them counted in the federal census, so by their numbers alone those foreigners will cause a continuing number of congressional seats to be reapportioned into those areas making it easy for Democrat candidates to win those congressional seats and keep the Democrats in permanent political power. In the long term the Democrats want the entire 20 million illegal alien population to be granted amnesty and be granted US voting rights. The Republican segment of the UniParty Congress simply wants the flood of both illegal and legal foreigners to continue indefinitely for cheap labor purposes, beyond that the wimpy Republicans don’t have a clue that if the Democrat amnesty and path to citizenship for millions of illegal aliens becomes reality that the Republicans are headed for political oblivion.

Follow the money. It will lead us to the sources of abuse. The Congress has allowed this because they receive huge donations from groups that benefit from illegal immigration. Charitable organizations are massive recipients of funds from the government for aiding and abetting this crime against our sovereignty. Mexico receives money from the cartels to ignore the problem. Open border advocates are being paid one way or another. This is a business and it is very lucrative to the open border zealots in one way or another. Never forget there is a huge part of that crowd who is very committed to seeing the United States destroyed as a Representative Republic. What they cannot do with traditional weapons, they are using human beings in their act of war against this country. The American people are not stupid. They clearly see where the globalists want this to go and they are incensed that our government is proving to be totally inept at protecting and defending our sovereignty. They know that this is the existential threat of our lifetime and we must use whatever leverage we can to get Mexico to fall into line. I believe the 2020 election will be a defining moment in our history and immigration will be the defining issue.

have no idea what mexico's interest in harming our interests is by coyly letting
all these border bumrushers violate their laws to get to the us. but also have
no idea why it took us so long to figure out that financial pain is a tired and sure way to get them to stop.

Some are illiterate, some are Indians that do not speak even Spanish, many have that vacant look in their eyes suggesting little behind them, some bring Tuberculosis, Zika, Dengue and Dysentery, all caravans are organized by leftists NGOs paid by Soros. Democrats should close this Migration even if these are their voters.

It is past time that we withdrew our military from Germany, Korea, and the middle east - they are only welcome there now because of the large influx of money they bring to those countries. Station them on our border and put the Army Corps of Engineers to work building a REAL wall.
