The most important requirement for the Democratic Party’s presidential nominee? Electability. It matters more, we keep hearing, than nominating a candidate who has good policies. It matters more than nominating a candidate with a track record of passing progressive legislation. It certainly matters more than nominating a candidate who could be the first female president.
Unfortunately, very few people who say they are putting electability first seem to understand what “electability” means, or what today’s electorate actually looks like.

Joe Biden 2020 = Bob Dole 1996 . . . . Except Bob Dole is a real war hero, is known for his genuine sense of humor and can usually remember what he ate for breakfast on most days.

The author dances around the central weakness of the Democrat party. They need super-high, enthused turnout from a limited number of demographic groups. The black vote needs to be 90%+ in their corner. Aggrieved women and assorted leftist malcontents need to be enraged. Upper income whites working for governments or non-profits want the gravy train of government spending and lots of cheap-labor immigrants.

No. He's boring (Trump calls him Sleepy Joe for a reason), and he was Obama's VP which makes him a corrupt hardcore lefty sycophant.

You mean Mr.Gropy McPlagerist? He's been running since Eisenhower was in the office. Got nothing to show for his last two efforts. We have a betting pool going on how soon he makes his first major gaffe.

If joe bidet self-identified as a transgender LGBQ-whatever young person of color, wouldn't that solve the problem? After all, the dhimmicrats and other libterds would have to take him at his word.

I still can't see lazy Joe Biden meeting the high energy levels required of any candidate running against Donald Trump. The Democrats are going to be hard enough to bring under one candidate. Will Bernie slide out at the last minute, avoiding another voter split as happened in 2016? I still think Bernie helped us elect Donald Trump because his supporter were so angry at Clinton for her filthy tricks stealing state primaries from him..and consequently demonstrating how utterly disrespectful she and her people were of rules and laws. Bernie, basically is not much of a campaigner, either...he has a fixed base of far left wing nuts in his bag. Biden is not very charismatic, needs a lot of speaking help and practice. he sounds static and muddled ...and I can not see him doing very well at all blabbing through a debate with the very charismatic, smart, savvy, and aggressive Donald Trump.
Let me also add, the Democrats did 2018 well only in the smaller, easily controlled House races. But, they still lost miserably in the larger Senate races. Democrats really do not look electable at all in 2020.

RE #1: Joe Biden 2020 = Bob Dole 1996
Let's instead hope that Joe Biden 2020 = Walter Mondale 1984!! And he ALSO had a female VP candidate.

Biden is a stalking horse who will prepare the way for someone like Michelle Obama. Or, knowing that he'll probably not last a full term, the Dems will put their real choice in as VP (some leftist who could never win on her own), with the second slot filled by a Dem Speaker of the House.

Absolutely not. Joey and his party both have deep ties to China and are beholden to them for their personal riches.. Besides, we've already had a corrupt pervert for President (the Horndog) and a corrupt one for President (Dumbo). So why should the country be saddled with a two-fer pervert and moron?
