Romney rejects Trump judicial pick who smeared Obama

Mitt Romney was the only Republican senator to vote against one of President Donald Trump´s judicial nominees on Tuesday. And he did so in part to defend former President Barack Obama. Romney cast the lone GOP "no" vote against Michael Truncale, who was confirmed 49-46 on Tuesday morning to the Eastern District of Texas. Truncale called Obama an "un-American imposter" in June 2011, and explained to the Senate Judiciary Committee that he was "merely expressing frustration by what I perceived as a lack of overt patriotism on behalf of President Obama." He also said he believed Obama was born in

Comments:

Hopefully, Mitts will never be president, but that doesn´t stop him from filling the shoes of McCain in the Senate.

Romney is a blind guide to the mentally disabled. Obama WAS an un-American imposter. Truncale was spot on. Everybody but Romney knew it.

All the nasty words directed at Romney are quite correct, don´t go far enough in fact.
And yet, and perhaps because of it, this worthless lout is the darling of the Rockefeller Republican GOP-e RNC "wiser heads". A plague upon him and them as well.
I am sorry Ovomit won. I am glad that Romney lost.
And a "digitus impudicus" to the voters in Utah who voted for this creep.

In 1976 Ford lost to Carter - but it was worth 4 years of malaise to get Reagan, who probably would not have been president otherwise.

Same with Mittens, we had to endure another 4 years of 0bama, but the payoff was Trump. If Mitt had won in 2012, we´d either still have him, or we´d have Hillary. On balance it´s worked out for the better, certainly when it comes to judges and the RINOs Mitt would have nominated.

The fact that the Church leadership tolerates the corruption of the mormons who represent them and the nation in congress tells me that they do indeed get involved with politics. They may not publicly say so, but they are indeed involved.

Mitt Romney is about as greasy and smarmy as they come. Or maybe we should start calling him Mitt McCain because I sure can´t see any difference. And bravo for pointing out his hypocrisy about all the criticisms he has made aimed at Trump.

Poster 29, how is it any different than what the catholic church has been doing for the past several years and still is? They knew how corrupt ted kennedy was and never said a word. I´ve often thought that kennedy was blackmailing them because he had to have known about the priests molesting little boys.
And just how many pro-abort ´rat politicians are catholic. My senator, patty murray is catholic and a few weeks ago she refused to speak out against the killing of babies already born. The catholic church has a lot to answer for.
Also, every single country in South America, Central America and Mexico are second or third world countries and they all have one single thing in common, the Catholic church.

Great comments. Definitely have Romney pinned. When I think of Romney, I think of the passage in the New Testament when Jesus likened the Pharisees to whited sepulchers filled dead men’s bones and all uncleanness. Romney has such an abundance of self-righteousness that he willfully refuses to see his own shortcomings but enthusiastically points them in others. He believes he is better than this President when, in fact, he is far beneath him. What he fails to see is that we see right through him. He is filled with animosity and venom, but his worst personality traits are envy and disloyalty.

The Mittens/RYANO team sure has let us down.

It just goes to show you a pefect example of why you NEVER should vote for or support a RINO.

The problem is that they just sit around and let good challengers destroy each other in primaries and then swoop in for the kill with their massive war chests filled by associations with corrupt cronies to survive primary challengers in run-offs if it ever comes to that--

The ONLY solution to this is TERM LIMITS. This will be a HUGE step to ending the corruption in DC and in your state legislatures.

Then, maybe there would be a chance that the representatives would fight for the citizens instead of their own pocketbooks with shady deals!!

Bringing shame on Utah and giving fodder to the anti-Mormons to chew on.

I have no clue as to his long game but I will vote for him again if he runs because he counts more for the GOP than a more vicious dem. He has that "R" by his name. But will vote first to primary him out. The people who tried to take out Orrin Hatch might help primary him out but knowing he is losing supporters of him personally the opportunists on the political scenes locally might give us a doozy. Mitt Romney was in the tank for Obama, which is why he went belly up when he had the goods to expose Obama for the fraud that he was. Mittens either lacked the guts, the character, or both to do what SHOULD have been done to that arrogant poseur, Obama, when he ran for president. Watching that house of cards crumble in the "debate" was a clue into the "character" of Romney. "Mittens" and the late John McCain could not have rolled over and gone belly up any faster than they did, even if they tried. Romney is showing his true colors by refusing to accept the copious amount of evidence, both then and now, that shows Obama to be the first president in our nation´s history to try to bring the country down. There isn´t enough money in print to make me cast a vote for Romney.

By calling Obama "un-American," the judge may have been expressing a political opinion that many share ... without implying any opinion about Obama´s place of birth.

And speaking of which, I agree with the judge: Obama was probably born in Hawaii. But there is evidence that could reasonably be interpreted otherwise.

So Politico´s reporter is wrong to proclaim "´birtherism´"... a racist theory that the president was not an American citizen."

Racist? Not necessarily. And an honest journalist would not have assumed it.

The Trump administration has ruled that gun shops are considered “essential” businesses that should remain open as other businesses are closed to try to stop the spread of coronavirus. India has announced a "total lockdown" of its population of 1.3 billion people in the fight against coronavirus, as the World Health Organization warned the US may become the new global epicentre of the pandemic. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi issued the most extensive stay-at-home order yet in the battle against COVID-19 as he ordered a 21-day lockdown from midnight in the country. In a televised address, Mr Modi said: "To save India and every Indian, there will be a total ban on venturing out of your homes." Italian engineers are making ventilators out of diving masks and fitting them with 3D-printed respiratory valves in an inventive plan to keep hospitals supplied at the height of the coronavirus crisis. A Brescia-based startup firm has offered the contraptions for free to local hospitals in the region of Lombardy which is at the centre of Europe's worst virus outbreak. The crucial part of the equipment is the 3D-printed 'Venturi valve', a device named after 18th-century physicist Giovanni Battista Venturi which connects the mask to an oxygen tube. The company is gearing up to make 100 of the chess piece-like valves per day and hand them out to medics

At the end of an hour-long phone call with White House and Homeland Security officials, a police chief from outside San Francisco made a stark plea: “Stop testing NBA players, and start testing our first responders.” The appeal came during a call on Friday organized by the International Association of Chiefs of Police in order to provide police departments with information “to get through this crisis OK,” Dr. Alex Eastman of the Dallas Police Department said on the call. A New Jersey State Police official expressed concern that federal privacy laws were masking the exact locations of confirmed coronavirus cases in his state, endangering officers and citizens there.

All of the soldiers were in their late teens and early twenties and were stationed at a sentry post near the Wiwon Dam in Chagang Province, (Snip) Their death sparked panic among the military’s leadership, which initially believed that the men had died of COVID-19 infections. As we reported two days ago, Joe Biden completely made no sense when he was trying to explain the Wuhan coronavirus relief bill. It was really bad and it explains why they’re afraid to have him deliver an address to Congress or do any kind of a real solo press conference, because at this point they have to be afraid this is all going to fall apart if he does anything live and this all becomes too obvious to the American people. But there’s only so long that they can hold this off. And it’s getting worse, as video today revealed. Biden was holding an event to announce the nomination

Nancy Pelosi’s top priority is to turn America into a one-party nation ruled by Democrats. Her bill HR 1 trashes the U.S. Constitution in an attempt to rig the system and make it virtually impossible to elect a Republican president or Congress again. It’s a power grab. The bill eviscerates state voting laws and forces all the states to conform to a set of rules that includes automatic voter registration. Anyone who goes to a DMV or applies for food stamps, Medicaid or other social services, or attends a public college will be automatically enrolled to vote. Noncitizens are obligated to identify themselves and opt out,

I’m probably second to none in my dislike for Meghan Markle. There’s something unattractive about a mature woman marrying into the British Royal family with one of the world’s most expensive weddings, hanging out with the Queen, living in insane luxury…and then whining non-stop about the horror of her life. There’s something even less appealing when that woman accuses the Royal family of race hatred. And the problem is that, when it comes to that left-wing diva, Meghan Markle, it’s hard to believe most of what she says. After weeks of hype, CBS finally televised Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s interview with Oprah.
