Jackson, Miss. — A member of a black church in Mississippi has pleaded guilty to burning the church, which was also spray painted with the slogan “Vote Trump,” a week before the 2016 presidential election. Andrew McClinton, 47, pleaded guilty to arson Thursday, the Delta Democrat-Times reported. His sentencing is set for late April. Investigators said McClinton, who is African-American, belonged to Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church in Greenville, which was vandalized and burned.(Snip) Greenville Mayor Errick D. Simmons initially urged officials to investigate the church burning as a possible hate crime. Simmons is African-American and had been elected

He seems pretty happy with himself.
Whitey could have done it, wants to do it so Andrew just saved them the effort. Kinda like black men built America. We should thank him.

Between Smollett and McClinton it is getting harder and harder for a minority to commit a hate crime in Trump´s name any more.

Maybe he was upset by Trump´s election which happened a week later.
The article isn´t very helpful. But it hints that McClinton wanted to burn the church for some other reason, and he sprayed "Vote Trump" as a diversion.

I guess if you are black and going to burn a black church down (and blame it on white Trump supporters) you had better burn it down in Chicago. That way you can get off.

Ain´t that the fruit of Slick Willie´s loins from a wild Scottish weekend during his beard and sandal days in the UK? I seem to remember an article several years ago mentioning a Pretender to the throne.

Always the frauds. They can´t find any real white racists, so they have to invent them to fake their extreme racial hatred which they keep telling themselves is "in response to the hatred of whites"....except they can´t actually find any.
So they fake it. Again and again. Whenever some apparent white racial attack happens, you can about 95-98% be sure it is a fraud.

He needs to hire some blacks in "white face" to do the dirty work like Smollet is said to be posing!

Face it racism is dying. Are there racists in this country? Yes both black and white racists but when black racists have to commit crimes upon their own race to perpetuate the white racists it becomes tedious.

FTA:“There is a dark past in America and in the Deep South regarding the burning of African-American churches,”
BY Democrats when the churches were actually burned by white people while Republicans from the north brought rifles to many, many black communities so that they could defend themselves against the racist Democrats who would not sell fire arms to blacks.
If this nation weren´t so utterly stupid, McClinton would have had nothing to exploit when he committed this crime. Rush of course was right; stupidity is the most expensive thing on earth and sadly, Ron White was right because it cannot be fixed.

This sort of thing actually makes me wonder when did the KKK actually stop doing this sort of thing, and when did the "alleged victims" pick it up in order to get in the news?

He may look African-American - - but when he burned down the church he was self-identifying as white.
So - - yes - - it WAS a white racist hate crime - - - - - - sort of.

The members of the local community knew it had to have been committed by someone who lived there. The church is located at the end of a street well within the community area it serves. The locals who spoke with the media said that everyone in the community knows everyone else and and would have immediately recognized someone from outside the community, especially if that person was not black.

The NAACP is creating an award for McClinton as we speak. McClinton sounds like a new burger on the menu at McDonalds in honor of Hillary Clinton. Two all grease patties to grease the skids and remain free from prosecution.

So the mayor and the local politician (brothers) stick to their guns that they all hoped it would be a Trump supporter. Were it not for the insurance investigation, it probably would have stood as an unsolved crime by unknown whitey.
No comment from the church pastor about his church member burning down his church. Great reporting, Associated Press. ~

The worst passions are easily inflamed. We´re living in an age where one Party is invested in fanning the flames of hatred, vengeance, envy and greed.
There used to be more evidence of countervailing ethic, and that was primarily from the Judeo-Christian system of morality and ethics:
Love one another; forgive one another; treat each other how we´d like to be treated; "keep in your mind whatever is good, beautiful and pure"; seek to do good; avoid evil; don´t steal; don´t murder; don´t lie; stay faithful to your spouse;
don´t BEAR FALSE WITNESS.

It often takes a while for the lies to unravel, but by then the damage is done. This one received international news coverage, even though the black locals weren´t buying that a white person was responsible (saying white people are scarce in those parts, and would have been seen by someone).
