What, then, was it all about? I think I know. It was all about General Flynn. I think it began on the battlefields of Iraq and Afghanistan, when Flynn changed the way we did intelligence against the likes of Zarqawi, bin Laden, the Taliban, and their allies. (Snip) This earned him a following among some who worked for or with him, but it also gained him the enmity of those who had been cut out of “the chain of command.” By the time he was made head of DIA, Flynn had a real problem with the intelligence community,

After his re-election, Trump should pardon Flynn and make him an intelligence czar.

It would be a good start to Pardon Flynn, but how about him being reimbursed the millions he owes to his attorneys? He lost him home and everything he had saved for retirement and still owes millions. This should not stand. The government agencies that went after Flynn should be responsible for making him Whole again!

I can´t believe a Go Fund Me page was never started for him.
I would contribute in a heartbeat!!!

Congress could make Gen. Flynn whole with what is known as a private bill----and take the money from the "intel community" budgets for good measure. And by all means make him the intel czar with authority to conducted the audits mentioned in the article.

I´ve been saying this for years, but Ledeen doesn´t understand one key point. Flynn wasn´t making anyone jump the chain of command. If that were the case, he would be admitting that commanders in the field did not use the assets under their command to prosecute the war. If he circumvented the flow of information and analysis to DC then yes, that´s a good thing to speed up things in theater. If Ledeen is saying the commanders had their head up their patootie (entirely possible for some) then that is not a Flynn problem per se. But it does open a whole host of questions about military and civilian leadership writ large.

For those of you too young to know or those of you who may have forgotten. I want to remind you that the Watergate conspirators all went to prison and why the same fate should not await Hillary and her band of conspirators in the worst scandal this country has ever seen is beyond me.

Didn´t Flynn´s current problems start when that woman lied to congress about him? She is another that needs dealing with. And no thanks to Trump waiting until reelection. Going after those who have been flaunting the law for decades would actually help him to win reelection in 2020. Threatening to go after a man´s son like Mueller did to Flynn was revolting and should get him disbarred.

At best Flynn was a target of opportunity in this tale. He served his purpose to the conspirators as that head on a pike at the bridge others must cross to work for Trump and his 2020 campaign. Get the message?
As noted, Flynn has spent millions on his defense. Imagine the bill PDT´s lawyers will present him with if Congress starts "investigating" his businesses, his taxes, his "emoluments", and all the rest that will doubtless come down the pike shortly.
And then the cost of an impeachment defense, even if the articles never gets out of committee to the floor. That´s not government money. Better get that Go Fund Me page up!

I can´t comment on how the flow of intel worked during the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, so perhaps Flynn´s changes wer an improvements just from Ledeen´s description. I can comment that ever since 9/11, billions of tax dollars have been poured into the IC, civilian and military and for what? Agencies that never had need for intel analysts all of a sudden had to have them and an Ops Center to monitor and respond to real time intel/events. Intel suddenly became sexy and very well funded - not that their black budgets were ever in risk of being reduced even before 9/11.
And Flynn supported a female FBI agent who filed an EEO complaint against McCabe.

It seems to me that destroying General Flynn was, as #8 said, a sign to discourage anyone from associating with or working for President Trump.
That is the first step in destroying someone in a powerful position, as was done in the Soviet Union. Remove and destroy the target´s allies, one by one, until the target is standing alone and without allies. Then go after the main target.
It´s like chopping out a tree complete with it´s stump..... cut out the small roots, then the larger roots. After that, the main stem is easier to destroy.
The ´Rats and their media co-criminals did their worst, but failed.
I would like to see the AG do a Prompt, Vigorous, and Fair investigation of the whole crowd.... Lynch, Yates, Holder, Clapper, Brennen....the names are too numerous to mention here, but the Heads of the Snake are HildeBeast & Obummer.
Lock ´Em UP!

I thought that Gen Flynn refused any defense fund donations. And yes, he needs to be pardoned now ... as well as any other family member who could be used to get back at Lynn.
Ditto for Manafort, at least to time served.

Sounds like Gen Flynn needs to be brought back and made a national security advisor to the President.

Ridiculous. It was all about bringing down a legitimately elected president by the apparatus put in place via appointments by Barack Obama during his second term.

Pardon all of those involved as peripheral people in the special investigation.
Restore their fortunes, their good names, and pay their attorneys’ fees.
No need to wait until after the Election, no need. The left is going to complain and howl anyway. Just get this nightmare behind us!

It´s an exaggeration to say it was ALL about Flynn, but this is an important story that should be more widely known. And as Ledeen says, Flynn should be pardoned and the intelligence community investigated.
