Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah), who is emerging as a pragmatic leader among Senate Republicans, is at the center of private discussions among GOP senators about crafting a legislative response to climate change. Senate Democratic Leader Charles Schumer (N.Y.) has tried to put the focus on Senate Republicans for not having a plan to combat global warming, which has been linked to erratic weather events costing American communities billions of dollars in damages

FTA: “There’s no question that we’re experiencing climate change and that humans are a significant contributor to that,” Romney told The Hill. There´s no question WE are experiencing the stirrings of a gigantic, flawed ego slouching towards another doomed run for president by this putz. And in case you thought there was any chance Graham is not a McQueeg-like jerk, this, FTA: “I’ve talked to Romney. The Green New Deal is kind of a ridiculous proposal, but denying the problem is equally as bad,” Graham said.

The ´climate´ is what it is... simply by definition, it cannot change. Nor are there ´fossil fuels´ or even ´sustainability´. I remember the frenzy that the atomic bomb would destroy the planet... and that ongoing scam about the end of the world in ___ days.

The meaning of "pragmatic" is "practical" . What is practical abut pushing a scam on the American people? Well, it would enrich certain high up people. Why does the phony baloney green deal lets kill off the American economy and enslave her people con game require a response? It only does if you intend on making money and acquiring more power by seeming to be be a moderate in this scam. " The urge to save humanity is almost always a false front for the urge to rule". Mitt Romney is a crook. He has always been one, always will be one. Now that he is in the Senate, he is going to let that part of himself come out to play finally. He must be absolutely exhausted from having to hide that part of himself for all these years.
His sleazy smiling countenance was made for the current climate of the Senate. When the chickens he hatched at Bain start coming home to roost, I hope he remembers the lack of support he showed to other innocent men, and doesn´t get too disappointed if nobody offers him any support either.

Has Romney now succumbed to Satan and his lies that man can control global weather? That if we only taxed enough people we can control erratic weather events in specific areas?

They are called “flood plains” and “100 year flood plains” for a reason. And as areas get populated and built out with housing developments it changes the terrain, which changes the scope of flood plains. Area where there used to be farms are now heavily populated and concrete is everything - so naturally there’ll be heavy monetary damages and some loss of life. Floods happen, droughts happen, tornadoes happen, hurricanes happen. We humans are in Mother Nature’s way - simple as that.

They are among us, #21.
Romney´s advocates on this site are well-known and were prominent in reassuring us that he would be a reliable conservative senator for the good people of Utah.
They have now fallen silent as they always have in the past once Mitt Romney´s immediate political objective has been achieved. They no longer defend him here because they no longer need to.
And that´s fortunate for them because Romney is, of course, indefensible. A political weather vane who spins on the winds of opportunity and self-aggrandizement, Mitt Romney is utterly without principles. He lies about his conservative opponents, lies about his positions on issues, and even lies about the little things in life like how long he´s been a hunter, when he joined the NRA, and why he became pro-life when previously he wasn´t.
It would be difficult to find a more perfect poster child for the dishonest self-serving Republican Party Establishment than Mitt Romney.
In the movie The Maltese Falcon, there´s a wonderful scene where the villains congregate on one side of the room, whispering conspiratorially. Humphrey Bogart´s Sam Spade leans over to they´re hired gun and says, "Six, two and even, they´re selling you out, Sonny."
Whenever you see Mitt Romney meeting with Republicans and reporters, it´s six, two and even they´re selling us out.

It makes as much sense that humans control global climate than that a butterfly in Brazil flapping its wings affects storms in the UK.
Romney is that dumb.
Take an orange and look at its skin.
Those ridges and furrows, were it the size of earth, would dwarf the Marianas Trench (deepest place) as well as Mt Everest (tallest place) by a three times.

He says the president hasn´t taken on the mantle of president. And that moderating of the more entertaining to me part of the president is probably what is needed to win in 2020, pragmatically speaking.

#26- Indeed, God is sovereign over all. God controls the universe, including weather. Scripture is the inerrant Word of God:
Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind and said: “Who is this that darkens counsel by words without knowledge? Dress for action like a man; I will question you, and you make it known to me. “Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth?...” (Job 38:1-3)
(Matthew 5:45, 8:26-27; Mark 4:39-41; Luke 8:24-25; Acts 14:17
Genesis 8:22; Leviticus 26:4; Deuteronomy 28:12; 1 Kings 8:35-36; 2 Chronicles 6:26-27; Job 5:10, 26:8-9, 28:25-27, 36:26-33, 37:1-18, 37:10-24, 38:24, 38-41; Psalm 78:26, 135:7, 147:8, 148:8; Proverbs 3:19-20; Jeremiah 5:24, 10:13; Jonah 1:4, 4:8; Zechariah 10:1)

If I recall, he was endorsed by PDT. Why, the President tweeted, "He will make a great Senator and worthy successor to @OrrinHatch and has my full support and endorsement!"
"
And Romney was so happy we replied, "Thank you Mr. President for the support. I hope that over the course of the campaign I also earn the support and endorsement of the people of Utah."
Don´t know what all the griping is all about. It´s not like Romney lied, or behaved differently than he had in the past. And now watch Lindsey play the same game, albeit in "defense" of PDT and most of his agenda. It´s all boob bait.
This is all about 2020...

What is the evidence that we’re experiencing climate change and that humans are a significant contributor to that??
I fully understand that human activities can pollute the air, and through our capitalist system, the United States alone has made more progress to lower emissions than the Paris Accord required...and no other country has really made an effort.
Just as there is no "pee free" end of a swimming pool, one country can not be the only one trying to control emissions. As long as China, India and other countries do not take the necessary measures, then the efforts of the United States will be undone by the "bad emissions" from all the rest of the world.
The lying politicians who support devastating our economy to lower emissions, while the rest of the world are not even taking the smallest steps in this area should properly be voted out of office.
Any recommendations should include a plan to include other countries in the effort.
