During a weekend interview presidential hopeful Robert Francis “Beto” O’Rourke said AR-15 sales should be banned in America. This is a continuation of the anti-Second Amendment campaign O’Rourke conducted in his failed 2018 Senate bid. For example, in February 2018 interview with CBS News O’Rourke supported banning bump stocks and made clear his belief that AR-15s ought not be sold in America. He said, “I think banning bump stocks makes a lot of sense. … I don’t know that we should raise the age for buying an AR-15 I just don’t think we should be selling AR-15s

99% of all illegal shootings do not involve an AR-15; banning them serves no meaningful purpose. And gun control laws do nothing to quell an individual´s desire to take someone´s life with or without a gun.

It´s scary that people who have absolutely no idea about guns can be in positions of power to control who can own those guns!!!!!!
It´s really sad that Robert O´Rourke actually lives in Texas and doesn´t have a freakin´ clue about guns!!!! That is a special kind of stupid!!!!!!!
I guess he was too busy wearing dresses, playing terrible "music", drinking and doing illegal drugs, illegally hacking computers, driving while intoxicated, getting arrested, marrying for money, etc, etc, to learn how to be a man!!!!!!
Come to think of it, he is the perfect example of an average lie-beral Demon-rat!!!!!

The AR15 is now the most popular sporting rifle in America.

If he wants to ban the AR-15, then I know I need to get one or several.

In reality he does not want to ban just the AR-15 semi-automatic rifle but all semi-automatic pistols, rifles, and shotguns being manufactured in the USA these days, thus banning just about all the popular modern firearms being sold in the USA. Because all those firearms are mechanically similar, and have the same destructive effect when they are fired by a criminal nut job and hit a number of people. No surprise as that is the leftist and liberal Democrat political agenda intended to disarm all law abiding people in the USA.

It´spast time to push back seriously on how the fedgov thinks it can ban new manufacture mgs, real ones, or sound supressors, or anything the 1932 nfa covers. The fedgov , regardless what black robed tyrants say, wasn´t given yhe authority to use its rraxing power to infringe on the second amendment. Just like the comnnerce clause wasn´t written to allow the fedgov to,ignore that it was given only limited, clearly defined powers. Not what powers it claims today.

FTA: In the building up to his call for a ban O’Rourke described the AR-15 as super powerful weapon designed “for the express purpose of killing people as effectively as possible, in as great a number as possible.”
Super powerful? Seriously? Compared to the M-1 Garand carried by most GIs in WWII, the AR-15 is a piker! The AR´s purpose was more to injure than kill, and decrease the recoil to the rifleman. I have a Molot VEPR 7.62x54r (basically the same Russian round as the 30 ought 6 fired by the Garand) that looks like a grown-up AK-47. It is basically the current Russian sniper rifle, semi-automatic. That´s OK, right, Beto? It ain´t an AR-15.

#10 is exactly right. The 5.56 NATO is specifically designed to be LESS powerful than past military rifles.
The WW2 M1 rifle fired at 150 grain bullet, the M16 fires either a 62 grain bullet, at slightly higher velocity.
Ridiculous, false, ignorant statement.
The 2nd Amendment will not be erased.

In reality he wants to disarm the entire US population so the thug police of a Left Wing State can easily control them. Even more basic he wants do away with the idea that our rights are God given and possessed by us naturally and without permission of authority.

The AR-15 is the best way for the citizens of this country to defend themselves from oppressive government. So of course the socialists would want to ban it.
