Colorado could be part of voting history next general election day, joining 11 other states looking to ensure that their electoral college votes echo the will of the American majority to elect the next president. Gov. Jared Polis signed a law Friday that would allot the state´s electoral college votes to whichever candidate won the national popular vote. The Washington Post previously reported the law´s signing. The trend comes as Americans have shown greater support in recent years for a more democratic presidential election process, without the translational risks of the electoral college. But the daunting requirement of changing

Former Massachusetts Gov. Bill Weld took aim at President Trump on Saturday, declaring his intention to win the Republican primary. The 73-year-old White House hopeful, who ran as the vice presidential nominee in 2016 for the Libertarian Party, said that he has the experience and the temperament needed to take on someone like Trump, whom he says fundamentally lacks the basic knowledge required by the office. "Before he was elected president of the United States, he was a New York City and Palm Beach socialite judging beauty contests and employed in the reality television industry. I come from a long line of farmers and timber people, folks who made their living from what grew out of the ground, men who had a great and abiding respect for the soil and water – who harvested the timber with an eye on selective cutting, for leaving seed trees to replenish the woodlands, for never leaving the dead trimmings next to a standing tree to keep the bugs who attack dead wood from going into a live tree and killing it. They would let fields lie fallow every so often to give the soil a rest and let

Why does Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) still have her position on the House Foreign Relations Committee? House Republicans stripped Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa) of his committee positions after making his own controversial remarks. Omar should have met the same fate. But considering recent history, it´s not surprising that Omar remains unpunished. It´s just the latest example of their party turning a blind eye to the rise of anti-Semitism in their ranks over the years—if not embracing it at times. Perhaps the most shocking thing was Omar´s subsequent criticism of Barack Obama, calling his “hope and change” slogan a mirage. “We

When Indiana homeowner George Hollingsworth noticed some damage Tuesday to the door frame on his garage, he suspected a break-in, the Marion Police Department wrote in a statement. On Wednesday, Hollingsworth began cleaning out his cluttered garage to determine if anything had been stolen, police reported. That’s when he found the body of a suspected burglar crushed beneath a 900-pound antique floor safe that had apparently toppled onto the stranger, police wrote. “My mind couldn’t comprehend it,” Hollingsworth said, WXIN reported. “This can’t be real. It’s like some strange tale.”

The recent death toll of Christians in Nigeria has reached 120 with this week’s slaughter of more than 50 by Fulani Muslim militants in the Kaduna state of Nigeria, the Christian Post reported. The Fulani jihadists, who have become a greater threat to Nigerian Christians than the Islamist terror group Boko Haram, stormed the villages of Inkirimi, Dogonnoma, and Ungwan Gora in the Kajuru Local Government Area last Monday, destroying 143 homes, killing 52 people, and wounding dozens more.

White Democrats are invoking God far less than their predecessors, referring to religious faith as a source of division rather than unity, according to an analysis by Professor Peter Beinart of the City University of New York. A striking quality of the presidential campaign announcements by leading white, progressive candidates from the Democrat Party is the absence of any positive mention of faith, wrote Beinart, a liberal political commentator, in the Atlantic Friday. Unlike Bill Clinton, Al Gore, John Kerry, Barack Obama, and even Hillary Clinton — who all invoked God in their presidential announcement speeches — the new batch

Florida’s political partisans don’t like each other. That might seem obvious, but compared to other states we take it to the extreme. Our partisans — liberal and conservative — are among the most politically prejudiced in the country, according to polling firm PredictWise. That’s not something to be proud of. The analysis, featured in a recent article in the Atlantic magazine, ranked each county in the nation for political tolerance. An accompanying map shaded the least prejudiced counties in white. Dark green indicated most prejudice. Florida was entirely dark green, every one of our 67 counties. No other state was so biased.

A source close to Abrams confirmed the meeting and said that it occurred at Biden´s request, according to the Associated Press. The meeting is significant because Biden represents the moderate, establishment wing of the Democratic Party and is widely expected to be an instant frontrunner if he decides to seek the presidential nomination in 2020. America today is an enormously divided nation, both politically and culturally. We should hope this situation soon will change in a manner that, among other things, embodies and puts into practice the very special words of the “American’s Creed.” In order for this to happen, many currently serving politicians—at all levels of government—will first need to learn what the “American’s Creed” says and then learn to use its words as guidance for actions and decisions. Last year marked the 100th anniversary of the adoption of the “American’s Creed” by the U.S. House of Representatives. In April 1918, Congress accepted

The ´angel moms´ were present in the Rose Garden when Trump declared that a national emergency existed on America´s southern border; they returned to the Oval Office to see him formally reject an attempt by Congress to overturn it. ´Today I am vetoing this resolution,´ he said. ´Congress has the freedom to pass this resolution and I have the duty to veto it. And I´m very proud to veto it.´ Within an hour, House

Beto O´Rourke said Friday night that he had been wrong for joking at several events in his first two days campaigning in Iowa that his wife has been raising their three children "sometimes with my help."The former congressman from Texas, who launched his bid for the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination Thursday, addressed the remarks during a recording of the podcast Political Party LIVE! in Cedar Rapids. The comments triggered complaints from Democratic operatives and activists, many of them women, that female candidates could never similarly joke about their roles raising their children.

In a universe of parallel political parties RNC Jeb Bush is mirror image of DNC Beto O’Rourke. “I think someone should run. Just because Republicans ought to be given a choice,” said Bush, who also served as the governor of Florida, in an interview with David Axelrod that will air Saturday on “The Axe Files.” He added that beating Trump in 2020 will be difficult for anyone because “he has a strong, loyal base” and “it’s hard to beat a sitting president.” (more) (Video)

Former British spy Christopher Steele confessed that he used an unverified report submitted to a CNN website, where “random individuals” can post information, for his salacious anti-Trump dossier. Steele made the awkward revelation during a deposition last year in a case involving Russian entrepreneur Aleksej Gubarev, who claims his companies Webzilla and XBT Holdings were defamed by Steele after the dossier was published by BuzzFeed. Steele was asked during the deposition how he verified allegations about Gubarev´s companies and whether he found “anything of relevance concerning Webzilla,” according to the newly released transcripts of the deposition. “We did. It was

It didn’t take long for some mainstream media members and Democrats to blame President Donald Trump for the horrific massacre on Friday that targeted Muslims in mosques — leaving at least 49 people dead and at least 48 others wounded. At least one gunman targeted, shot and killed Muslim worshippers in two mosques.A 28-year-old Australian who claimed responsibility for the terror attacks in New Zealand is in custody. He also live-streamed the brutal massacre. The suspect issued an 87-page manifesto outlining his radicalization and hatred for Muslims and immigrant minorities.Witness Carl Pomare told Radio New Zealand he saw hundreds of

Beto O’Rourke is about to launch a presidential campaign off the back of a failed Senate bid. He’s not the first to do so – Abraham Lincoln famously followed exactly that path to the White House. But nobody else is Lincoln, and Beto is hardly anyone at all: as a contender for the 2020 Democratic nomination, he’s the ‘not’ candidate. (Snip)His path to the White House, if he has one at all, leads through the graveyard: if Beto does well enough to merit a place on the ticket as running mate to almost-octogenarians Joe Biden (who turns 77 this year)

These arrogant, smug, rich pampered pukes in the middle of the college admissions scandal — they’re even more obnoxious than you think. I read the entire 204-page affidavit the FBI filed in support of the criminal complaint, and it’s like being locked in a windowless room with 12 or 15 of the Democrat candidates for president. They ooze smarminess, entitlement and sanctimony, and as stupid as they are, they are absolutely positive that they are the smartest, most woke people in the room. Let’s go straight to the affidavit. Meet Agustin Huneeus Jr. of San Francisco.

In an interview broadcast yesterday by National Public Radio, Sen. Kamala Harris (D.-Calif.) said that she would not impose the death penalty on someone who committed treason against the United States. Harris takes the position that the death penalty should never be used as punishment for any crime. In the interview, which aired on NPR’s Morning Edition, Steve Inskeep had the following exchange with Harris: (Video) Inskeep: California’s current governor, Gavin Newsom, has this week, as I am sure you know, announced a moratorium on the death penalty in California. Is there a federal equivalent that you would do? Federal

Former British spy Christopher Steele admitted that he relied on an unverified report on a CNN website for part of the "Trump dossier," which was used as a basis for the FBI´s investigation into Trump. According to deposition transcripts released this week, Steele said last year he used a 2009 report he found on CNN´s iReport website and said he wasn´t aware that submissions to that site are posted by members of the public and are not checked for accuracy. A web archive from July 29, 2009 shows that CNN described the site in this manner:

The US is suing Volkswagen, accusing the German carmaker of "massive fraud" over the diesel emissions scandal. The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) claims the firm misled investors by issuing billions of dollars worth of bonds and securities, without disclosing that it had cheated emissions tests. Volkswagen´s former chief executive Martin Winterkorn is also being sued. The company said it would contest the SEC lawsuit vigorously. VW first admitted in September 2015 that it had used illegal software

When Democrats lost to a non-politician in 2016, they could not swallow the failure and began to degrade their opponent´s victory (by manufacturing "Russia collusion"), insult people who voted for the winner (calling them racist), and assassinate the character of the winner (calling him a dictator). To make the case for the third act, they invented a story that Donald Trump likes dictators and wants to be one and will not leave office if not elected in 2020. But his actions show the opposite. Trump does not want to be a king or a dictator, while his predecessors behaved as

For fair-minded observers, this has been a bad week for the credibility of the two most aggressive (and punitive) “watchdogs” of the right — Media Matters and the Southern Poverty Law Center. Thanks to Peter Hasson at the Daily Caller News Foundation, we discovered the stunning hypocrisy of Media Matters president Angelo Carusone. The man who helms an organization that combs through the past of every conservative public figure looking for evidence of hate and bigotry has his own history of hateful posts. And now the SPLC faces its own internal challenge. Yesterday, the SPLC fired

Long-time actor and director Rob Reiner is one of many Hollywood celebrities to have frequently expressed disdain for President Donald Trump, particularly when it comes to his border policies. However, Reiner’s stated opposition to Trump’s border policies hasn’t stopped the “All in the Family” star from implementing a barrier to protect his own home. So reporters from The Daily Caller paid a visit to Los Angeles to check out Reiner’s massive wall. Check out Reiner’s wall that protects his Los Angeles home in the video above, and see how Hollywood elites protect their homes.

The written word cannot express the true extent of the tragedy that occurred in Christchurch, New Zealand (snip) In fact, conservatism had nothing to do with this. We need to understand exactly how people like this shooter think, and how the media is doing that admirable goal a disservice. How do we know that the shooter isn’t a conservative? For starters, he explicitly says that he detests conservatism twice, once in the “Q&A” and again in his more ideological section, where he devotes a whole page to it

Every element of the college admissions scandal, aka "Operation Varsity Blues," is fascinating. There are the players: the Yale dad who, implicated in a securities fraud case, tipped the feds off to the caper; a shady high school counselor turned admissions consultant; the 36-year-old Harvard grad who sold his talents for standardized testing to the highest bidder; the comely actresses from Full House and Desperate Housewives; the fashion designer; the casino magnate. Who would have thought that one of the major headlines of 2019 would be "Lori Loughlin released on bond"? There are the children: the social media influencer

Beto O´Rourke´s announcement he´s running for president may have captured the hearts and minds of many Democrats who believe he can beat President Trump in 2020, but as far as TV´s Dr. Drew Pinsky is concerned, "something´s not right" with the former congressman. "I thought that was Tony Robbins," Pinsky, a board-certified internist and addiction medicine specialist, said on the "Brian Kilmeade Show" in response to audio of O´Rourke´s presidential announcement video. "I´m just saying, there´s something gonna go down there. I can feel it coming. I don´t know what it is... There´s something not right," Pinsky said.

Here’s the signal question facing the Democrats in Washington: Does the Superstar Leftist Trio in Congress — Alexandria and the Supremes — truly represent the views of the party’s voters as 2020 approaches? If they do, then the decision to capitulate last week to Rep. Ilhan Omar and back away from censuring her anti-Semitism was the right call politically, even if it was morally despicable. Clearly, enough Democratic members of the House believe the trio —

A Dominican National in the US illegally has been charged with assault for biting off the tip of a veteran ICE officer’s finger, according to newly unsealed court papers and law enforcement sources. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers were attempting to take Cristopher Santos Felix into custody on March 3 when he chomped down on the unnamed officer’s left ring finger, a source told The Post. Santos Felix entered the country in June 2015 on a visitors visa, sources said, and then overstayed it and never left.
