MILWAUKEE— Democrats selected Milwaukee to host their 2020 national convention Monday, setting up the party´s 2020 standard-bearer to accept the presidential nomination in the heart of the old industrial belt that delivered Donald Trump to the White House.Democratic National Committee Chairman Tom Perez chose Milwaukee over Houston and Miami after deliberations lingered longer than party leaders or officials from the three finalist cities had expected. The convention is scheduled for July 13-16, 2020. It will be the first time in over a century that Democrats will be in a Midwest city other than Chicago to nominate their presidential candidate. Instead,
With the self destruction of the demon-rat party evidenced by their no-policy obstruction, will there even be a demon-rat party to hold a convention next year? WWG1WGA! MAGA! KAG!

I wonder how much "UNDER THE TABLE" compensation was transferred. Things like, favors between satin sheets, hotel rooms with hot and cold running waitresses, voter deliverance. Feel free to use your imagination for other perks.

Should be fun watch Dems pretend to be part of the beer & bratwurst crowd while in Milwaukee.

Democrats are trying to gain Wisconsin back after Hillary wrote it off as in the bag and never stepped foot in the State.

As a former resident of Milwaukee and currently residing 90 minutes north of the city I am proud to say that I have not set foot there since 2013. It is truly a s-hole. It is the perfect venue for the 2020 democrat convention! They deserve each other.

Politically, Florida or Texas who have been a better choice for them. So I’m thrilled to see this stupid move right out of the gate.

I, thankfully, live an hour away. Parts of Milwaukee are beautiful but I fear that will not be the case after this circus leaves town. Other parts are not so nice, and won´t be any nicer afterwards either.
Way to put out the "Welcome Antifa" sign, guys. Enjoy!

This is going to be a real challenge for Milwaukee. I just don´ t think that they have the hotel rooms for such an event and have already heard of networks booking entire hotels. I´d think that delegations will pushed out to accommodations in surrounding counties. As a mid-sized city, with significant crime problems, the police with be spread very thin. I´d image the only way to make it safe for the delegates and contain the crazies will be to lock-down the bulk of the central business district for the duration of the convention. This is going to be very interesting to watch.

Politically, Milwaukee isn´t a bad choice. Wisconsin (and much of the upper midwest) is among the swing states and it´s probably a good idea to be there.
Wisconsin (my birth state) elected a Dem. governor, so they will have his support. It may be a good reminder to all us on the Trump train that 2020 is not going to be an easy road. It looks as the Democrats aren´t going to nominate someone who only shows up to campaign every third day or so and thinks that the fix is in so she´d win anyway.
And although it has changed politically, Milwaukee isn´t that bad of a city. Good food, good brew, and since the city has a history of socialist mayors back to the early 1900s, the Democrats will fit right in. Too bad they didn´t go to Chicago. Maybe we could get Abby Hoffmann out of retirement (or the grave) and replay the riots of 1968.
But I´ll be far, far away.

I think it serve them right; both of them. Dems because they are ugly and their mothers dress them funny and Milwaukee because it is there.

I keep reading that top Democrats and even some Republicans believe Texas "is in play" for 2020. If they think that is true, wouldn´t smart politicians put the convention in Houston? We´re talking 38 electoral votes.
Of course, I don´t think Texas is very likely to go blue in 2020 and I am positive there are no smart politicians in the Dem party.

The Harley anniversaries draw a bigger crowd than a political convention. The city isn´t just two big hotels and the Arena downtown anymore. The town can use the financial shot in the arm.
Then there is that element that is likely to use this as an opportunity to torch their own neighborhoods...especially if the cops crack down and someone gets shot, as is likely.
Wish it could have been in Baltimore...
