This may be the week Alvin Bragg’s case
against Trump falls apart

Even for those of us who have long been critics of the “hush money” case against Donald Trump and its dubious legal theory, it has been surprising to see that the prosecutors had no more evidence than we previously knew about. The assumption was that no rational prosecutor would base a major criminal case almost entirely on the testimony of Michael Cohen, who was recently denounced by a judge as a serial perjurer peddling “perverse” theories in court. The calculus of Alvin Bragg is now obvious. He is counting on the jury convicting Trump regardless of the evidence.

“How big is the sun? We just heard right this minute a million of our earths could all fit right in it.” Those words can be found in Dr. Seuss children’s book There’s No Place Like Space: All About Our Solar System. About what you’re about to read, it won’t be a statistical or scientific argument supporting or disdaining the theory that is global warming. No such skills exist to make either, but even if they did exist, the view here is that statistical arguments about anything involving personal freedom are loser arguments. Think back to the spring of 2020 and the coronavirus to see why.
Antisemitism Awareness Act Is the Antidote

Last week, something all too rare occurred: The House of Representatives passed excellent legislation with a broad bipartisan majority. The Antisemitism Awareness Act, which Republicans backed 187-21 and Democrats 133-70, does far more than provide a critical tool in the fight against surging antisemitism. It’s a model of excellence in the fight against DEI and ESG, wokeism in general, the overreaching administrative state, and the erosion of free speech rights. That’s why it’s surprising and disappointing to see opposition arising not only from antisemites – from whom it was expected – but from politicians, scholars, and pundits who normally side with freedom. Many of their critiques rail against a straw man:
New evidence shows yet MORE Biden lies

President Biden has always insisted he had nothing to do with the Justice Department’s move against ex-prez Donald Trump for his alleged theft of classified documents — but new information gathered by RealClearInvestigations suggests that (as so often with Biden) this is likely a lie. “I don’t want to get myself in the middle of whether or not the Justice Department should move or not move on certain actions they could take. I agreed I would not tell them what to do and not, in fact, engage in telling them how to prosecute or not,” were Biden’s precise words to lapdog journo Scott Pelley in September. A set of newly

After President Biden gave his ultimatum of withholding offensive weapons to the Jewish state if Israel were to launch an invasion of Rafah, rocket attacks rained down on Israel on Friday from Rafah, with more rockets fired on Saturday. Hamas launched rockets from Rafah at the southern Israeli city of Beersheva on Friday for the first time since December, as Iranian proxy Hezbollah sent a barrage of rockets into the northern Israel city of Kiryat Shmona, causing a massive fire. Within the Gaza Strip on Friday, four Israeli soldiers were killed. "When administration officials attacked or berated Israel publicly previously during the war, Hamas hardened its demands

Many Republicans will be shocked to learn that Election Day 2024 happens long before Nov. 5. In fact, it hurts the Republican cause – and the elections of President Donald Trump and House and Senate Republicans – to focus narrowly on Nov. 5. The first election dates are Sept. 16 in Pennsylvania and then Sept. 20 in Minnesota and South Dakota. The next election days are Sept. 23 in Mississippi, and Sept. 24 in Missouri. There are 43 other states and the District of Columbia that follow with their early voting dates. Only Alabama and New Hampshire do not have early voting.

It is a presidential election year and a leading candidate for president of the United States, who also happens to be a former president of the United States, is currently a criminal defendant chained to a dingy courtroom four days of the week -- time that he should be spending interacting with voters out on the campaign trail. That's terrible. But it's only the beginning. The daughter of the presiding judge is a professional political operative for the presidential candidate's opposition party, and the candidate himself is subject to an over-inclusive and unconstitutional gag order. The George Soros-funded district attorney, who campaigned on a platform of prosecuting that candidate

Nearly two years after Nina Jankowicz briefly led the Disinformation Governance Board at the Department of Homeland Security, she’s launched an organization demanding transparency and the public release of documents about the public debate on disinformation. An interesting move, likely without true transparency in mind. My organization, Americans for Prosperity Foundation, has spent the same two years fighting DHS for documents on the federal board Jankowicz managed. We’re filing a second lawsuit under the Freedom of Information Act to fight continued government stonewalling of our requests. Thus far, DHS has refused to provide unredacted versions of documents that outline its purported authorities to regulate disinformation.

I’ve never seen as much of the best and the worst of humankind as I have in the past six months in Israel and Gaza. I was here in New York on the 7th of October, and on the 8th, I went down to Times Square. And there were these men and women, waving signs, celebrating the massacre. They were holding these signs in Times Square, “by any means necessary.” At a time when we already knew what those means included. I thought I had to get to Israel as soon as I could, that we were going to see a kind of Holocaust denialism in real time, and therefore I should see

For Donald Trump haters, the Stormy Daniels trial is a fantasy come true. An orgasmic treat of Donald in his boxers, being spanked on the bottom by a porn actress. The former president trapped in court like a caged lion, forced to listen to all the humiliating detail instead of being out on the campaign trail entertaining the orcs. Their matinee-idol judge, Juan Merchan, with his fetching gray cowlick, threatening to throw Trump in jail if he doesn’t stop shaking his head. Swoon. And, somewhere, they hope, Melania shedding a tear under her Gucci sunglasses. Whoopi Goldberg looked as if she was having an out-of-body rapture on ABC’s “The View”
'No choice' but to impeach Biden over

A Republican senator is renewing the call to impeach President Biden following reports of aid to Israel being delayed during its war with the terrorist organization Hamas. "The House has no choice but to impeach Biden based on the Trump-Ukraine precedent of withholding foreign aid to help with reelection. Only with Biden, it’s true," Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., wrote on X on Thursday. A recently passed $95 billion supplemental foreign aid package included roughly $26 billion for both Israel and humanitarian aid for areas including Gaza. The aid was encouraged by the Biden administration, which had proposed it nearly six months prior.
