President Biden has fired the Architect of the Capitol, Brett Blanton, on Monday, a White House official told The Hill, following outrage over an inspector general report that found Blanton misused a government vehicle and allegedly impersonated a law enforcement officer. “After doing our due diligence, the Architect of Capitol was terminated at the President’s direction,” the official said. The president’s move comes hours after House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) called for Blanton to step down or be removed Biden. House Administration Committee Chairman Bryan Steil (R-Wis.) and Ranking Member Joe Morelle (D-N.Y.) had also called for the resignation

Actually, the architect refused to demolish the Washington Monument, and use the stones to build the Vegetable's pyramid on the same site.

Mr. Blanton said he needed the vehicle to stay in communication with the Capitol, and return, if needed, but he was not on Capitol grounds J6. And, Federal employees are allowed still to work from home due to Covid, Mr. Blanton often not on the premises. Then, he admitted his wife and daughter drove the official vehicle. Mr. Blanton, further said he read the executive summary of the IG report, but not any of the pages and pages of detailed transgrressions of his department, refusing for 3 months to appear before Congress for an explanation. When he did finally appear, he stuttered frequently, and finally earned his dismissal.

The FBI has conducted two searches at the University of Delaware in connection with the investigation into President Joe Biden's handling of classified documents, a source familiar with the investigation told CNN. The previously undisclosed searches were conducted in recent weeks, with the consent and cooperation of the president's legal team, the source said. The library at the University of Delaware, Biden's alma mater, is home to an extensive collection of papers from the president's time in the Senate, according to its website. Investigators retrieved materials from two university locations on two different days. The material did not appear to have classified markings, according to the source,

Nikki Haley, the former governor of South Carolina and U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, called for a new generation of leadership during her 2024 presidential campaign kickoff speech on Wednesday, taking shots at the older generation of politicians in the White House and in Congress. “We’re ready to move past the stale ideas and faded names of the past and we are more than ready for a new generation to lead us into the future,” said Haley, who at 51 would offer a change in pace from 80-year-old President Joe Biden and 76-year-old former president Donald Trump. Trump is the only other candidate who has formally announced a 2024 bid.

The four-term congressman has been under investigation for several years to determine if he violated sex trafficking laws and obstructed justice in that probe. Gaetz has previously denied all wrongdoing, and said he has never paid for sex nor had sex with an underage girl. CNN first reported that the department had decided against charging Gaetz.

U.S. military and intelligence agencies tracked the Chinese spy balloon for nearly a week before it violated American airspace last month, according to a new report. As the U.S. monitored the balloon, it appeared headed for the U.S. territory of Guam. But the balloon was seemingly blown off course and instead ended up over Alaska’s Aleutian Islands before ultimately floating over the continental United States, the Washington Post reported. U.S. officials are considering the possibility that China did not intend to send the spy balloon over the continental United States, but instead took advantage of the balloon being blown off course to surveil sensitive locations in Montana.

U.S. intelligence officials were tracking the spy balloon that was shot down earlier this month since it lifted off from the south coast of China, U.S. officials said Tuesday. According to U.S. officials, after takeoff, the spy balloon drifted east in the direction of Guam and Hawaii and then went north to Alaska and entered U.S. airspace on Jan. 28. Given the path, it's possible that the balloon was blown off course by weather, but U.S. officials said that once it came south over the continental United States, it was being controlled by China. Up until January 9, 2023, when CBS News reported that President Joe Biden had a classified documents scandal of his own, you could have bet the ranch that DOJ was poised to indict former President Donald Trump for illegally retaining national-security intelligence at his Mar-a-Lago estate. Prosecutors were getting their ducks in a row, taking the kind of steps that are only taken when the government is very serious about filing charges: appointing a special counsel, forcing former executive officials to testify before the grand jury despite potential privilege claims, aggressively litigating in the district and appellate courts to prevent Trump’s
