Republican Rep. George Santos positioned himself in a prime location for President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address — an uncomfortably prominent place for the embattled new lawmaker who faces multiple investigations and has acknowledged embellishing and even lying about his life story.
Santos’ presence at the center aisle to see and be seen with the arrivals was met with a stern rebuke from a fellow Republican, Sen. Mitt Romney.
“You don’t belong here,” the Utah Republican scolded Santos as he entered the House chamber and spotted the New York Republican on the aisle.

I really miss Rush. Regardless how complex or critical the issue, I could always count on Rush Limbaugh’s entirely rational and moral analysis, delivered by an apex professional with genuine compassion, even for those with whom he disagreed.
He was ensconced behind that golden EIB microphone; a master of ideas and argument. From his lofty height, he engaged with every thorny problem with an equanimity that drew a placid sagacity from an ocean of experience, and confidence. After all, Rush was “documented almost always right 99.7% of the time.”
He was a compass that always pointed the precise bearing to truth. He was the constitutionalists’ loadstar.

An Arizona rancher has been charged with first-degree murder and had his bail set at a whopping $1million for fatally shooting a Mexican citizen on his property.
George Alan Kelly, 73, was arrested following the January 30 fatal shooting of Gabriel Cuen-Butimea, 48, on his ranch in Kino Springs, just a mile and a half north of the US-Mexico border.
Authorities are still investigating the fatal shooting, with the Santa Cruz County Sheriff's chief deputy saying it does not appear that Kelly knew Cuen-Butimea ahead of the shooting.
But a friend of Kelly's told KOLD he has had issues with people on his property in the past,

Somehow, the weirdest thing that happened at the State of the Union was not Joe Biden proclaiming that he’ll veto any legislation that raises the cost of “frisizhnjubs,” a line I’m still trying to figure out.
Instead, it involved a pre-speech kiss delivered by Jill Biden to Kamala Harris’ husband, Douglas Emhoff. Honestly, I have no idea what happened here. When I first saw that, I tried to rationalize it. Maybe non-family members kiss on the lips like that routinely and I just missed it all this time. But the more I think about it, the more I don’t think I missed it. Rather, it’s just incredibly strange.

Jill Biden will host Bono and Paul Pelosi in the First Lady’s box during Tuesday night’s State of the Union address. Her guests will include Americans who have become known in the public eye for their roles in some of the top issues President Joe Biden is expected to push in his remarks.
Those guests include a Texas woman who nearly died due to the state’s strict abortion law; the man who helped stop the Monterey Park Lunar shooter; and the mother of Tyre Nichols, a black man who died after being beaten by police in Memphis.
Other guests have ties to Joe and Jill Biden’s top priorities in the White House,

Disney’s “Proud Family” cartoon series featured kids singing a song about reparations that America “owes” to Black Americans and how slaves “built” the U.S. (snip) In the show’s recent episode, “Juneteenth”, which aired on Feb.1, 2023, kids discover that their town’s founder was a slave owner.
The song in the episode opens with the line, “This country was built on slavery which means slaves built this country.” This line was repeated continuously throughout the show “We the descendants of slaves in America have earned reparations for their suffering and continue to earn reparations every moment we spend submerged in a systemic prejudice, racism and white supremacy

AMC Theatres has introduced a new pricing program, offering cheaper seats for movie fans who don't mind sitting in the front row, in the latest attempt to increase attendance and profits after the COVID-19 pandemic. The U.S.' biggest cinema circuit on Monday said its new pricing initiative, called "Sightline," will be expanded to all its domestic locations by year end, including dine-in cinemas, after having already rolled out at some AMC theaters. (Snip) Those who want the best seats will have to pay a premium. "Preferred" seats — typically in the middle of the auditorium — will cost more than the standard

President Joe Biden's State of the Union address kicked off with a sudden smooch between first and second couple members and yet another bold fashion move by influential Sen. Kyrsten Sinema.
The early fireworks opened up a speech that typically devolves into policy lists and platitudes as the night wears on
Tuesday night's prime time event featured angry exchanges between Biden and House Republicans who booed him for claiming they want to 'sunset' Social Security and Medicare.
Sinema made a bold entrance into the House chamber for the speech, after forcing Washington to hold its collective breath during talks on the Inflation Reduction Act, then later announcing she had switched from Democrat to independent.

Republicans booed President Joe Biden during his State of the Union address on Tuesday night after he called on Congress to raise taxes on the wealthy and Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene called him a 'liar' after he blamed the nation's debt on Donald Trump.
The evening started off with a smile – Speaker Kevin McCarthy made small talk with Vice President Kamala Harris, Biden started off his speech with some bad improvised jokes, and there was a standing ovation for infrastructure.
But it quickly turned contentious

The 2024 Republican presidential primary has hardly begun, but a consensus has already formed in conservative media that Donald Trump is toxic and unelectable. This narrative, commonplace but seldom challenged, is being pushed aggressively by pundits who are obviously partial to Florida governor Ron DeSantis. Many of these personalities insist that Trump has an obligation to step aside, and they pretend that Trump is attacking DeSantis unprovoked, despite the governor’s obvious intentions to run.
The DeSantis hype is not limited to media personalities

Ron DeSantis has seized control of Disney's formerly self-governing district in Florida, announcing that Disney must repay $700 million in debt and begin paying taxes.
In a dramatic escalation of his long-running battle against Disney, the Florida governor on Monday announced he was taking control of the Reedy Creek board.
The five-member board oversees nearly 40 square miles of Florida, on which the Walt Disney World Resort is built.
'Florida is dissolving the Corporate Kingdom and beginning a new era of accountability and transparency,' DeSantis deputy press secretary told DailyMail.com in a statement.
DeSantis will also rename the site, switching its name from Reedy Creek to the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District.

In her Republican rebuttal to the State of the Union address Tuesday, newly elected Arkansas governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders said that the Biden administration has been hijacked by the woke left, fostering an absurd political environment in which “the choice is between normal or crazy.”
Sanders, who previously served as press secretary to former president Trump, began her speech by drawing a generational juxtaposition with Biden, noting that, at 40, she’s the youngest sitting governor, while Biden is the oldest ever sitting president.
“I’m the first woman to lead my state. And he’s the first man to surrender his presidency to a woke mob that can’t even tell you what woman is,”
