Twitter employees have penned an open letter to soon-to-be boss Elon Musk and the Board of Directors begging to keep their jobs, after the Washington Post reported that Musk is planning to get rid of nearly 75% of the company's 7,500 workers - whittling Twitter down to a 'skeleton' staff of just over 2,000. "Elon Musk’s plan to lay off 75% of Twitter workers will hurt Twitter’s ability to serve the public conversation," reads a draft of the letter, which has not yet been published. "A threat of this magnitude is reckless, undermines our users’ and customers’ trust in our platform, and is a transparent act of worker intimidation."
I have a suggestion, learn to code....

My son works from home for a large corporation. I'm always reminding him about being of value to the company.

Memo to Twitter employees: if you want to keep your job in the upcoming reorganization, don't accuse the new owner of being "reckless." It's not YOUR company.

Oh this is rich! Communist sympathizers begging a capitalist for compassion! Elon should give them all a one way ticket to the communist country of their choice where they'll be welcomed with open arms and they can apply their trade working to censor free speech.

I thought they all were going to quit if Musk took over? I guess when you have no skills you hang on to what you already have.

And the pendulum swings ... It's sometimes hard to see this when surrounded by chaos. I believe that's been done on purpose. It's called the Cloward-Piven strategy of Organized Crisis.

#2, the best way to show his value is to show up for work.

Twitter, much like the US Congress is utterly corrupt, poisonously partisan, and turns a blind eye to their own evil. Getting rid of 75% is merely a good start. There's still much to do to fix the evil beast.

they're "begging" for Musk to not fire them and let them stay on at their jobs and then they use the word "reckless" in the body of the letter - who wrote that thing and have they never heard of the word, humility?

All of them should be fired and blacklisted for their allowing Bot-Sentinel and other bot companies to take over the social media. Virtual thugs and bullies given paychecks and support by Twitter. Now they should face the real world with the fecal matter they flung at innocent people and all those who committed suicide because the bot-companies were given succor. Let them eat the poo they flung now.

In that environment the only legit way to maintain your dignity is to resign.
At least in my State, it is a private contract that may be terminated by either party. Your choice, do you wish to be declared redundant, or attempt to move on the another opportunity with your head held high?

I think he may have legally had to make his plans public because otherwise he be trading with insider info. If any employee wants to keep their job they need to make sure they are adding value to the bottom line.
