Russia launched fresh hell across Ukraine on Monday with deadly missile strikes on several cities, including the capital, Kyiv — a horrifying escalation that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky insisted was an effort to wipe his country “off the face of the Earth.” At least 81 cruise missiles were fired at eight regions by midmorning, only around half of which were shot down, according to Ukraine’s defense ministry. Explosions were reported in Lviv, Ternopil and Zhytomyr in Ukraine’s west, Dnipro and Kremenchuk in central Ukraine, Zaporizhzhia in the south and Kharkiv in the east, many hitting at rush hour.

Russian terrorism against civilians. Their cruise missiles aren't like ours at all as far as accuracy. Our Tomahawks can hit within a single digit number of feet of the intended impact point. Russian CEP's are more like 100-1000 meters, depending on exactly which models they are firing. And, having burned through the majority of their most precise cruise missile stocks, they have been firing (proven by photos of the missiles just before impact) much of their older 60-80s missiles with CEPs of up to 1 km. CEP is circular error probable, which is the radius of a circle that 50% of fired missiles will land in. If you fire a missile with a CEP of 500 meters, half of them will hand in a 1 km diameter circle......and half will hand outside of that. This makes them just terror weapons, hitting in an area of 10 city blocks on a side. Hideous......but typically Russian.

I’d still like to know why we can’t give Russia an assurance that Ukraine will not be admitted to nato. And why we blocked the Russian- Ukrainian peace deal of April 2022. Schmoe can you please explain so we can know for what purpose or principle you have guided us so near to Armageddon? And delivered armageddon to so many Ukrainians.

Like the Germans bombing London, this will only stiffen the resolve of the Ukraine people. Putin should look for a compromise before it is too late, and it is almost too late.

Luhansk, Donetsk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia provinces are set to hold referendums between 23 and 27 September 20. Vladimir Vysotsky, the voting chief, showed reporters ballot boxes made of clear plastic, promising the voting process would be “just as transparent”. The stations Vysotsky visited on Thursday were, according to his estimation, 100% ready for polling. Polling station staff were seen being trained for a last minute referendum announced only on September 20. Russia did not recognize the independence of the Donetsk People's Republic before February 21, 2022. Ukraine said it would not recognize the results of the new vote.

President Joe Biden's national security adviser, Jake Sullivan, discussed unspecified "security issues" with China's top diplomat in a Luxembourg meeting on Monday, according to a White House statement. The meeting between Sullivan and Yang Jiechi, which followed a May 18 phone call between the two men, "included candid, substantive, and productive discussion of a number of regional and global security issues, as well as key issues in U.S.-China relations," according to the statement, which didn't elaborate. "Mr. Sullivan underscored the importance of maintaining open lines of communication to manage competition between our two countries," the statement said.

NATO on Friday rejected Ukrainian calls to help it protect its skies from Russian missiles and warplanes, wary of being dragged into Moscow's war on its neighbour, but Europe promised more sanctions to punish Russian President Vladimir Putin. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy strongly criticised the decision, saying the alliance had given Russia the green light to continue its bombing campaign. He had earlier appealed to NATO to set up a no-fly zone over Ukraine, which Russia invaded by land, sea and air on Feb. 24.

So far, Justin Trudeau’s invocation of the Emergencies Act hasn’t yielded any overt scenes of state power; no clouds of tear gas or columns of troops being marched into the capital. But it’s very different story within the Canadian financial sector. One of the most far-reaching implications of the Emergencies Act is what it prescribes for the Canadian financial system. According to the government’s new Emergency Economic Measures Order, every single bank, credit union, investment broker and insurance provider in the country has been deputized to figure out if they have a blockader as a client, and to immediately freeze their accounts if so.

A watchdog group is pressing the Department of Homeland Security to disclose its methods behind a new domestic terrorism threat bulletin that warns of “the proliferation of false or misleading narratives” as a cause of undermining public trust in the federal government. The Center to Advance Security in America (CASA) said it will file a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request seeking the basis for the DHS bulletin. The group said the Biden administration’s policy involves “the use of the domestic security state to potentially target political opponents, squash free speech and deliver federal dollars to special interest allies.”

As COVID continues to ravage through Vermont, so too does the increasingly invective rhetoric deployed against those who are unwilling or unable to take the vaccine. A vaccine so remarkably ineffective at preventing contagion, that Vermont – the state with the highest vaccination rate in the nation – recently made national headlines for also having the highest case rate in the nation. And higher case rates have led to more deaths – many more deaths. There have been three times as many COVID deaths since the vaccines than before.  CORRECTION*

The mandate requires indoor masking while Covid-19 spread is “high” or “substantial” in Chittenden County... Per state law, it must be renewed monthly and cannot extend past April 30, 2022. People do not have to wear masks in restaurants, convenience stores or gyms if everyone in the establishment has shown proof that they are vaccinated, the ordinance stated.

This comes weeks after PayPal blocked several important accounts in the UK, including Toby Young’s personal account, the Free Speech Union, and the DailySceptic.
