Just Got Much Better

At age 88, most Iowans would be sitting in a rocker on their front porch listening to the corn grow and watching their great-grandchildren at play.
But Senator Chuck Grassley has a different idea. The seven-term senator has been listening to the importuning from national Republicans to run for what would most assuredly be a slam-dunk eighth term and has decided to grant them their wish.
There are no major league professional sports teams in Iowa. There are some good college football programs at Iowa State in Ames and in Iowa City, where the state university plays. But the closest Iowans get to the major leagues is their iconic Senator Chuck Grassley.

Mitch will make sure Chuck stays in as majority leader, not to worry.

If the Republicans have to run an 88 year old to take control of the Senate, they don't deserve to have it. No one should be allowed to stay 42 years in either house - I don't care who you are or what party you are in.
I don't want an 88 year old flying the plane I am on, and I damn sure don't want one piloting the country, either.

These are dire times for our republic. Senator Grassley has fifty times the intellect and computational capability as the azzhat biden. Give the dims a slam dunk majority? No damn way!

Iowans don’t measure the quality of their state by stupid pro sports teams! One Iowa farmer feeds thousands of people! The educational system is the best in the US! And the quality of life is top notch with genuine people who care about anc for their neighbors! But a costal elitist in DC will never understand any of this!

He's too damn old! There has to be someone in the great state of Iowa that is qualified and under 60, for Lord's sake! We need patriot fighters not desiccated Uniparty lifers.

At this point, I don't care which Republicans win, as long as they can win. I want my country back.

As I look back in history, I can see little or no difference in the outcome whether the republican uniparty or the democrat uniparty had the majority. Election promises by republicans were NEVER kept. They know how to pontificate and stir the emotions of the voters, so they will take action and vote. But nothing ever stirs them to do anything but make speeches to empty rooms and hold fund raiser after fund raiser.
Trump is the only one who ever moved the needle one bit!
I am weary of the "we'll get 'em next time" mantra by the republican party.
If you are not actively fighting for the overturn of a fraudulent presidential election, I won't bother to care if you are reelected or not.
I remember visiting the capitol when my kids were young. We watched them assist Strom Thurmond in to cast his vote. It was a pitiful site. I am very familiar with the decline that goes on between 80 and 88 as I watch my parents. If Iowa doesn't have anyone who is healthy and vibrant to replace him, shame on Iowa for not developing a strong bench!

So? Republican’ts take over the senate (again). What did they accomplish when they had both houses and the white house? The leftist agenda continued unabated.
Republican’ts/DemonCommieRats; DemonCommieRats/Republican’ts: two wings of the same vulture: TYRANNY!

I don't care how old Grassley is he has a better intellect than Lunch Bucket Vegetable Joe Biden. I like Senator Grassley until he shows me something of himself declining I want him there.

All the cynics are posting quickly. It does not matter his age, if he's functioning well, which it certainly seems is the case.
First rule of politics, win.
You don't get to govern if you don't win, and it's that simple.
Oh, they didn't do this, or that when they had the Majority, is the past --- turn the page, and look forward.
Focus on regaining the Senate Majority and the House first, or you get everything the Democrats will ram through.
