St. Louis County in Missouri is mandating face masks for everyone over the age of 5 when indoors regardless of vaccination status amid the spread of the delta variant, officials announced Friday. Masks are also "strongly encouraged" for groups when outdoors. We’ve lost more than 500 St. Louisans to COVID-19, and if our region doesn’t work together to protect one another, we could see spikes that overwhelm our hospital and public health systems," Dr. Fredrick Echols, acting director of health for the City of St. Louis, said Friday. St. Louis County reported 241 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday, bumping the 7-day average

Near as I can tell, a mandate is not a law. So what's the point? We already know, for a fact, that breathing through a piece of fabric for hours at a time is dangerous. Oh wait, maybe that is the point.

I agree with all the above. But, while true that a mandate is not a law, we are stuck with having to work around the effects. Prime example: grocery stores. I live in an area where there are several (large and small) from which to choose, but when they all require customers to be masked before entry, where can we go maskless to buy our food? Yes, there's delivery to the door, but who wants to do that now unless necessary for other reasons (or simply convenience)? Mandates can have the same results as laws, much as Federal agency guidelines/rules/requirements have the same result as a law passed by Congress.

When are they going to close the border and stop sending the illegals all over USA? Probably why the cases are rising. I still don't agree with masks though. When the gov't takes it seriously, then I might. What would have become of covid if it hadn't been an election year? How many lives wouldn't have been lost due to suicides ,loss of livilihood etc. One has a 99.7% chance of surviving covid.

‘Local officials’ now seem to think that their personal opinions override the CDC. I’m sure they feel very powerful insisting that all the peons scurry around wearing totally useless masks that do more harm than good. Those who get a thrill up their leg by following orders set down by these morons can have at it. I won’t be wearing a mask, including to the grocery store. Come and arrest me. I’m done.

When these "mandates" first came in, I just ignored it. I went into the grocery and hardware and Walmart and did not wear a mask. Once, entering Walmart, where they had re-routed traffic inconveniently to a long line out front.....INCREASING the number of people close together....they had a woman sitting on a stool at the entrance to their tape-defined line. She said, as I walked by, not stopping, "Sir, do you have a mask?" I tossed "No" over my shoulder as I walked on. Not one word was said by anyone inside, and I did my own checkout. They won't do anything to actually try to enforce this in most places, you will find. Just say "No" and go on. After a few weeks of this, I finally buckled under. Not again. Will not wear a mask.

If a young healthy person's employer isn't mandating the vaccine, the only selling point for the vaccination is that once you've had the shot(s) you won't need to wear a mask. So why are leftists politicians killing this vaccine incentive?

Why don't the vaccinated and masked stay home, and everyone else go about their lives. Or maybe they could have odd vaccinated days, and even unvaccinated days. Going further, we could have Democrat, and Republican really holidays. I would like the towns divided with the Democrats and their immigrants, felons, and homeless people on their side.

Both children suffered wounds to their legs and were taken to hospital, but were found to have non-life-threatening injuries, Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet reports. In a remarkable display of how committed the Democrat party is to utilizing the narrative of domestic extremism for their own benefit, Nancy Pelosi is placing satellite field offices for the DC Capitol Police in key regions around the country. When we consider the FBI has field offices all over the country, you might ask: why does the Capitol Hill police need to expand beyond Washington DC? Essentially, what Nancy Pelosi is doing is expanding the federal law enforcement mechanism of the legislative branch into specific areas where they can investigate political opposition armed with legal authority.
