Joe Biden told a business owner struggling to hire staff that he needs to pay better wages, as he seemed to concede that the pandemic increase in unemployment benefits was keeping people away from work. The president spoke at a half-empty CNN town hall at Mount St. Joseph University in Cincinnati on Wednesday night. Flattering camera angles hid the small crowd from viewers at home, but reporters traveling with Biden tweeted pictures of rows of empty seats. At the event, Biden was asked by Ohio restaurant owner John Lanni how he planned to resolve the staffing crisis in his industry

Comments:

Biden is absolutely clueless. Typcal of someone who'se never actually worked for a living. It reminds of what Hillary said years ago, during Bill's Administration, when she said: "I can't go out and save every undercapitalized entrepreneur in America," when asked what might be done to ease the burden of her health care plan on small business. They don't care. None of them do.

Can't get anyone at $15 bucks an hour? Too bad, Mr. Business Owner. You better start paying $30 an hour, or we will just raise the minimum wage even higher so that your cheapest meal will have to be $100 a plate. Of course, no one will pay that, and then your former employee will be making zero. This is the plan, of course - make as many Americans permanently dependent upon the government for all their needs. We are charting a course for Zimbabwe, because these clowns don't even care if no one pays taxes anymore if the end result is dependency. They will just print more money.

I can’t think of a worse asshat than Biden in all my recollection of history. His only independent function is breathing oxygen and putting one foot in front of the other. “It’s a wonder that brain can keep those legs moving!” — Lex Luther about his assistant Otis, in Superman the Movie.

Pay more ? Great idea! Where do you think I will get the money to do that? This is a business, not the government. We can't just spend or pay out money we don't have. Biden has no clue how business really works.

It's pretty comfy sitting home and playing x-box games with the likeminded over the internet. OTOH, employers need to understand that this latest generation of workers just isn't into work. Many have bought into the gig and hustle economy. When the time comes to drive Uber or deliver pizza again, they will. But don't expect them to work jobs that require they show up at 9 o'clock with a boss holding them to the minute of their arrival. Times and expectations are changing...like it, or not.

It’s pretty basic economics, when restaurants have to pay their employees higher and higher wages, in order to still make a profit and stay in business, the restaurant has to raise the price that they charge their patrons for the food that they serve. Biden and his family are all multi-millionaires and could care less if a crab roll costs $10.00 more a serving. If Biden were really just plain middle class “Joe” from Scranton as he falsely claims all the time you can bet that he would care.

I don’t understand why people don’t just become artists. No training or art background required. Starting artists can easily sell their paintings for anywhere between $75,000 and $500,000 each.

Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam's push to ban the sale of assault weapons has failed after members of his own party balked at the proposal. Senators voted to shelve the bill for the year and ask the state crime commission to study the issue, an outcome that drew cheers from a committee room packed with gun advocates. Four moderate Democrats joined Republicans in Monday's committee vote, rejecting legislation that would have prohibited the sale of certain semiautomatic firearms, including popular AR-15 style rifles, and banned the possession of magazines that hold more than 12 rounds.

Democrats already have lined up possible charges if they choose to pursue impeachment 2.0. Still pending is a wide-open probe launched by Rep. Adam B. Schiff, California Democrat. Mr. Schiff has been investigating President Trump, his family and businesses, the Trump Organization, over the congressman’s suspicions of blackmail, money laundering and bribery. Republican staffers say the inquiry was put on hold last fall pending the Ukraine impeachment proceedings led by Mr. Schiff. But there is no sign Mr. Schiff has given up trying to prove Mr. Trump is corrupt, and if the president is impeached again, the charges would likely

People who support Trump are mentally defective, so they must be deprogrammed. What does that mean? Sounds Stalinist in the extreme. It also reeks of Chinese Cultural Revolution underpinnings. They are now being sent to this jail rather than being released like the Biden Admin. has been doing. We are adding more officers, National Guard & jails,” Abbott said in a tweet Thursday.
