Newsmax released an article this week that gives voice to further distrust of America’s once-premiere law enforcement agency. The column was based on a series of questions and concerns presented by Representative Matt Gaetz (R-FL) regarding the still murky details around the January 6th storming of the Capitol building. Two questions lobbed at the FBI are both haunting and disheartening: “What did the FBI know? And when did they know it?”
The fact that the agency responsible for investigating the lawlessness of that date is itself under scrutiny is alarming.

Darius Dotch chuckled in the midst of a Juneteenth performance last Saturday in St. Cloud. The onstage moment wasn't a mistake. He was re-enacting an 1865 letter from Jourdon Anderson, a Black man who escaped slavery in Tennessee, to his former master, who had wanted him to return to bondage. The actor and hip-hop artist lingered on a moment of droll poignancy.(Snip)Black people mark Juneteenth with recitations of historical texts, theater, poetry, dance, music and art. Some also commune through food and drink, parades and family games. The holiday is seen as one where Black people can be their authentic selves.

“It was a queer, sultry summer, the summer they electrocuted the Rosenbergs……” So goes the opening sentence of Sylvia Plath’s 1963 novel The Bell Jar, referring to the Jewish American couple, Julius and Ethel Rosenberg, who were convicted of conspiracy to commit espionage and sent to the electric chair exactly 68 years ago today. Their execution casts a morbid shadow over Plath’s book, just as it did over the United States, and it is seen by many as the nadir of America’s engagement with the cold war.(Snip) During their trial, Ethel in particular was vilified for prioritising communism over her children, and the prosecution insisted

Georgia's secretary of state is poised to remove more than 100,000 "outdated" names from the state's voter registration rolls unless those on the list take immediate action.Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger released the full list of people who could be affected by the registration update on Friday."Making sure Georgia's voter rolls are up to date is key to ensuring the integrity of our elections," the Republican said in a statement. "There is no legitimate reason to keep ineligible voters on the rolls."Some critics, such as Gerald Griggs with the Atlanta NAACP, described the move as a voter purge. Griggs said thousands of voters were improperly removed from the 2019 list.

Dozens of House Republicans are demanding President Biden remove Vice President Harris from her leading role handling the US migrant crisis, citing her “inaction” on the issue.“Despite being in the midst of a border crisis this country has not seen in two decades, Vice President Harris has not yet shown adequate interest in observing this crisis first-hand,” wrote Wisconsin Republican Glenn Grothman in a letter President Biden signed by 56 House lawmakers.“In the 85 days since the Vice President has been tasked with solving this crisis, she has yet to visit the border and meet with Border Patrol agents,

I have despised Nicolle Wallace ever since I learned of the ways she sabotaged the vice presidential run of Sarah Palin, whom she was supposedly helping run for national office. In my book, she is a vile snake. Since then, she has gone as fully left as David Brock, another onetime conservative who went to the dark side, trying for years to get Rush Limbaugh thrown off the air, destroy Fox News, and discredit every conservative.
Wallace's show on MSNBC thrived while there was the Trump presidency to attack and spew hatred at. But it turns out that without Trump, not too many people want to watch her.

Joe Biden barely worked on Friday and left Washington DC to go hide in his Delaware basement for the weekend.Biden just returned from his first foreign trip where he spent 8 days in 3 different countries.78-year-old Joe Biden looked weak on the world stage, stumbled his way through pressers and spoke gibberish in meetings with foreign heads of state.Biden was in such poor shape overseas that Trump’s White House doctor-turned Congressman, Ronny Jackson and 13 other House Republicans are calling on Biden to take a cognitive test.

A former ethics chief in the Obama administration has accused President Joe Biden of thumbing his nose at government ethics with the prevalence of family ties among his administration's hires. 'I'm sorry, I know some folks don't like hearing any criticism of him. But this royally sucks. I'm disgusted,' tweeted Walter Shaub, who led the Office of Government Ethics from 2013 to 2017.'A lot of us worked hard to tee him up to restore ethics to government and believed the promises.

Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, on Saturday shared a celebratory message for Juneteenth, a new federal holiday, celebrating the emancipation of Black slaves after the Civil War.
"Today is Juneteenth, a special celebration of the fact that our country strives each and every day to make good on its promise to protect the inalienable right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness for all men and all women who are created equal," he tweeted. The tweet emphasizes the freedoms listed in the Declaration of Independence — the same freedoms Americans fought for during the Civil War — rather than the political differences the country is currently grappling with.

It’s a late-breaking case of electoral bondage. Zack Weiner, 26, a City Council candidate running in Manhattan, has found his campaign tied up after video of him enjoying a sadomasochism session found its way onto Twitter.
“My magnificent domme friend played with Upper West Side city council candidate Zack Weiner and I’m the only one who has the footage,” reads a tweet from the anonymous account which posted the video last week. The footage—flagged to The Post by Weiner’s own campaign manager—shows a gagged Weiner, unable to speak, subjecting himself to various abuses by a leather-bound woman who pours wax on him

WASHINGTON—Russian oil imports have set a new record in the United States despite the strained relationship between Washington and Moscow. Industry experts believe the Biden administration’s climate policies will make the country more dependent on foreign oil producers.
The United States imported record levels of crude oil from Russia in March and is expected to continue importing at high levels in coming months, according to the Western Energy Alliance, a trade association that represents 200 independent natural gas and oil producers in the United States.
Imports of crude oil and petroleum products from Russia reached 22.9 million barrels in March, the highest level since August of 2010, according to International Energy Agency

Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker signed a law on Thursday expanding curbside voting and establishing permanent vote by mail.
Senate Bill 825 lays out procedures for election authorities to establish curbside voting during early voting or on Election Day.(Snip)The bill also directs authorities to establish central polling places where “all voters in its jurisdiction are allowed to vote on election day … regardless of the precinct in which they are registered,” according to its text.
The measure also allows sheriffs to establish temporary polling locations at county jails. These sites would be available to people who live in the county and are in custody, but have not been convicted
