Former Rep. Paul Mitchell (R-Mich.) is blasting House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) for scheduling a vote to determine Rep. Liz Cheney‘s (R-Wyo.) future in House Republican leadership.
During Tuesday’s appearance on CNN, Mitchell was asked what he thought of McCarthy’s role in the push to oust Cheney from her leadership position.
“I just think Kevin’s primary interest is achieving to get the gavel. He will do almost anything to get the gavel and become speaker — short of throwing his mother under the bus,” Mitchell responded.

A house (Republicans) divided against itself can not stand. Thanks for preventing socialism.

I have no problem with a vote to oust Cheney.
What's the buzz?

McCarthy hates being forced into this vote. I am enjoying watching this worm squirm. Dick and Liz Cheney are Deep State power and Kevin has to proceed very gingerly. Rep. Mitchell is correct. Kevin McCarthy’s focus is on getting himself in the Speaker’s office. Stefanik is better than Cheney but she is no strong conservative. Thus, the leadership direction does not change one whit.

McCarthy is already Speaker, and has to do nothing to become Speaker. As Speaker, I hope McCarthy exercises his authority to ensure Paul Mitchell gets no committee assignments, and is assigned no role in the party. Michigan can have him, but we do not have to take Paul Mitchell. Thank you.

this man is absolutely correct. mccarthy is a ryan in mccarthy clothes. do not trust him!!! the republicans had better find someone to be certified pro-Trumper to lead this bunch of loose cannons if they take the House in 2022.(emphasis on "if")

We were told same about Ryan - give him a chance, he is really such a great conservative . Then with each wimpy move, oh well, there were no good choices, etc. Now pie-in-the-sky about McCarthy now.

No fan of McCarthy here but isn't funny how leftist and rinos howl when their ox gets gored. By the way Paul, Ms. Cheney is the one that crapped in her own house. This isn't McCarthys doings.

Wow, what news, huh?
He's Minority Leader, and has worked hard to elect more Republicans, so yes, he's looking to be Speaker.
Liz Cheney has had ample time to approach her colleagues and articulate her position on the Republican agenda which needs to be overwhelmingly what the caucus believes.

McCarthy as Speaker would be worse than Paul Ryan. McCarthy is Mitch's beeyatch and house boy. McC does everything McConnell and Rove order him to do. He is as fake as fake gets and a deep state never Trumper underneath his Brooks Brothers suit and Florsheim shoes.

McCarthy may seem like a nice guy, and maybe is, but HE HAS NO SPINE!!!
He should be fighting Piglosi on anything and everything, and planting bombs and Dirty Tricks to destroy her, just as Democrats have been doing for 70 years.
If the public only knew how corrupt, treasonous, and fascist Pelosi was, she'd be thrown out. It is McCarthy's job to shine the light on Piglosi

The fact that liberals are so concerned about Cheney tells you all you need to know about her. Good riddance. Liz.

Almost all of them need to be thrown out on their behinds. Hard.

And here lies the problem. Republicans fight among themselves and do nothing for US. Dems always stick together.

I would take a rotten piece of stinky old salmon over Nancy Pelosi as Speaker, so McCarthy sounds good right about now.
