After President Joe Biden, Governor Tim Walz, and Congresswoman Maxine Waters all weighed in on what they hoped the “right” verdict would be in the trial of Derek Chauvin, the former Minneapolis Police officer was found guilty on Tuesday afternoon of all three counts brought against him for the death of George Floyd on May 25, 2020. After the unanimous verdicts were read, Chauvin was handcuffed and remanded to custody of the Hennepin County Sheriff’s office.
There is no question there will be an appeal in the case.
Appealable considerations began with no change of venue. Witness intimidation, public

I am disgusted. I cannot believe the verdict, right or wrong, was reached without intimidation. The venue should have been moved and the jury sequestered. I am sickened by the reactions of Bidet, Giggles and the media. Giggles all but canonized a drugged up thug. There is something seriously wrong with a culture that makes heroes out of criminals and then blames me for their problems just because I am white.

The talking heads I’ve heard' including the conservatives, seem to be okay with the verdict and seem to think an appeal will be turned down. If they think this will satisfy the liberals, they are stupid.

Sorry to disagree but I think that Derek Chauvin left the bounds of reasonable judgment when he continued to use maximum force on a man who was unconscious and without a detectable pulse. Another officer suggested that they put GF on his side. Chauvin continued even after the EMS arrived. Should an officer get charged with manslaughter or murder for poor judgement? Well, part of his responsibility includes protecting a suspect in custody. He failed at this. Unless Chauvin speaks about it, we will never know what he was thinking. It's a shame, especially since GF is being held up as a sainted individual. The mobs are already attacking a truck driver in MPLS. And the fool fest of Sharpton, Crump, Jackson et al is in full swing.
This is just a sickening case and no good will come of it.

Maxine Waters and her army of professional rioters made a reasonably successful appeal possible. Judges don't say what this judge did unless they are p!ssed.

This case could have, and should have, been a positive event toward racial harmony in the country.
Very probably the jury would have reached the same verdict without the race hustling woke-wackos threatening to burn down the country if they didn't get the desired verdict.
A clean verdict simply recognizing the facts of the case would have been a victory for the country and justified the beginning of return to respect for our justice system. It is a shame that that was tainted by the howling mob.
An attempt to bribe a juror for a vote would be treated as a crime. An attempt to intimidate a juror is much worse. It casts a pall upon even the most honorable juror who would never consider taking a bribe. Everyone who "protested" outside the courthouse should be ashamed of themselves. Mad Maxine and her ilk should be criminally prosecuted for their acts.

I believe the judge told the defense lawyers they have something like two weeks to file an appeal of the verdict.

#4~ For the record, Derek Chauvin’s defense attorney, Eric Nelson, “showed a video from police body-worn cameras from a different angle showing DEREK CHAUVIN’S KNEE WAS ON FLOYD’S SHOULDER AND UPPER BACK, NOT HIS NECK.”
According to published reports, Mr. Floyd “had a deadly cocktail of drugs in his system. It’s believed that this same cocktail of meth and fentanyl are what sent Floyd to the hospital, where he nearly died, only two months before. Fentanyl causes asphyxia. ... Pills were found in the Mercedes SUV and the police squad car, where Floyd had been for a brief time, had meth and fentanyl in them, which he was believed to have eaten to hide evidence from cops.”
Officer Chauvin weighed 140 pounds and is 5’9”. Mr. Floyd weighed 223 pounds and was 6’4”. According to Mr. Floyd’s girlfriend’s testimony, “he was using drugs again after a short sober period.” Mr. Floyd had been with his drug dealer when the police officers arrived at the scene.
Officer Chauvin along with three other officers “acted entirely according to the training and guidance provided them by the Minneapolis Police Department.” Mr. Floyd was placed in what is called “the recovery position to alleviate positional asphyxia” with Officer Chauvin “kneeling on the side of the suspect’s neck.” Mr. Floyd “was at imminent risk of death from sudden cardiac arrhythmia caused by excited delirium. So it was that these officers followed the MPD’s official procedures for how to properly and safely subdue someone in that life-threatening condition. In doing so, they were not only keeping Floyd in the prescribed “recovery position” to alleviate his risk of asphyxiation, they were also keeping an agitated and delirious Floyd from harming himself as they awaited the arrival of the ambulance that they had twice summoned to provide medical aid to him.”

You should inform yourself of the facts, #4. When you listen to the Enemedia and believe even a tiny bit you are disinformed, misinformed and uninformed.

Not excusing the cop, but before too long, no capable person will want to be a law enforcement officer.

Will the appellate court be any more amendable to the actual evidence than the trial court?
