Brett Favre thinks politics are hurting sports and would like to see both things go back to being separate.
Favre made comments earlier this week, saying sports are better off being something to unify the country rather than used as a tool to further divide people.
"I think both sides, for the most part, want to see it just remain about the sport, not about politics," the Hall of Famer said. "At least, that’s my interpretation. I know when I turn on a game, I want to watch the game. I want to watch players play and teams win, lose, come from behind...

Brett, I'm with you bro. But, it is too late. Baseball- fascist politics is the new Amerikan pastime.

Brett is right. I will go even further. NO business should be into politics.
Coca-Cola, Nabisco, General Mills they need to produce their product and make a fair product and stop trying to tell people how to live and how to think. It's none of their business if I am a racist, a Patriot or a Communist. Just stay the hell out of my affairs.

I’m so done with following, reading about, and watching professional sports.
I used to be such a big follower and diehard fan. But the woke BS aside, I lost interest years ago. Don’t know how it happened, bit it did. Since then nothing has happened in any of the big four professional teams sports that has renewed my desire to attend and watch their product. In short, I’ve been insulted enough.

We used to love watching sports, but once I see a player kneel, I turn on Family Feud. Am not going to sit here and watch millionaires trash my country and flag.

That would be a smart thing to do, along with "Shut up and sing." and "Shut up and act.", and "Shut up and just sell your product."
But I'm not holding my breath that any of these 'woke' people will ever truly wake up.

Too late. They lost me years ago, not going back. No more wasted time on sports politics or the enablers in the booth.

That horse has left the barn and is now grazing on thin grass two pastures over. Sports hasn't just lost a couple of years, they have lost an entire generation, not to mention hundreds of millions of dollars. Felt good to take that knee while the anthem was playing, didn't it?

I know that a lot of "us" think that professional sports is dying because WE have turned it off, but I'm not sure this is true. The NFL owners renewed Goodell's contract after the initial kneeling when they still had a chance to correct it because he is making them so much money. And, they are continuing to bring in HUGE revenue despite many of us permanently turning it off for real. Maybe this will eventually kill off or bring "big sports" down, but I don't see financial evidence of it yet.
(I was a lifelong 50+ years Packers fan, saw them play in 4 different stadiums including 1 Super Bowl, but no longer watch at all).

Liberals have to politicize everything, down to and including math. There is almost no safe subject anymore if you are speaking to a liberal. Certainly not the weather, not cars, not sports, not school, not kids, not pets, not even barbecue. Everything can be turned into a political topic. It did not used to be this way. They are zealots. Their constant moralizing, preening, lecturing, holier-than-thou testimony, proselytizing, damning, blaming, shaming and shunning of the white middle class makes them the as insufferable as the witch-burning elders of Salem.

Too late, Bret. Your sport is almost dead. You should have spoken up sooner.

Thank you Bret. I echo others in saying that its too late. I am sure some well-paid football and baseball players may be starting to understand the fascists have destroyed sports. It is not going to be the same anymore.

I agree, but this is too little too late. The NFL and MLB are dead to me, after 50 +/- years of viewing/supporting, and I am not going back. I don't miss it and have more free time.

Pro Sports don't need or want fans in seats, all they need is TV contracts. Someday when enough people cut the cord the money won't be there and then they might figure it out.

I watch actors, athletes, and musicians for their talents, not their political opinions. They are our escape from the world of politics and what is going on in the world.
