Daunte Wright choked a woman and threatened to shoot her if she did not hand over $820 she had stuffed in her bra, court papers obtained by DailyMail.com allege. That is the case that led to a warrant for his arrest at the time he was shot and killed by police officer Kimberly Potter in Minnesota on Sunday, leading to days of unrest. And online speculation that he did not know there was a warrant out for his arrest is false, DailyMail.com has learned.(Snip) Wright was due to face trial on a charge of attempted aggravated robbery—with a possible maximum sentence of 20 years

FTA: "'Defendant Wright then pulled a black handgun with silver trim out from either his right waistband or his right coat pocket and pointed it at victim and demanded the rent money,' continued Mikkelson. 'Victim said "Are you serious?" Defendant Wright replied: "Give me the f**king money, I know you have it." When the woman again asked him if he was serious, Wright is said to have replied: 'I'm not playing around.' Mikkelson's report said: 'The $820 cash was tucked in the victim's bra and defendant Wright placed his hand around victim's neck and choked her while trying to pull the cash from under her bra."

I don't care if he had a warrant out for cannibalism he shouldn't have been shot when he was unarmed. Police have to respond with appropriate force regardless of the charges made in a warrant.

It’s beyond tragic that the heroes of the black community are thugs, rappers and gangbangers instead of men like Clarence Thomas, Thomas Sowell, Lloyd Marcus, Ben Carson, Walter Williams...

I have a problem with the police officer having trouble identifying her taser from her gun. But if this man had simply complied with the officers none of this would have happened. And his family will walk away with millions as they try to convenience us that he was an angel hunted down. When you are confronted by law enforcement do what they say. Everyone keeps talking about "the talk". Evidently they are not including the most important guidance or the kids aren't listening. You can scream racism, police brutality, white whatever ism later. DO WHAT THEY SAY. It will never end well.

Such a promising young man. On his way to medical school with plans on becoming a pediatric brain surgeon. Always volunteering at the Jewish senior center and being an usher at church every Sunday. Between tutoring children in math and science at his local elementary school and being a member of the PTA promoting before and after school activities and clubs and leading weekly Bible study and prayer groups, the community lost a real role model.

That's the news I was waiting for. If it was actually a warrant for a traffic stop it would have been ignored by the media 3 days BEFORE he was shot. Oh !!! It was !!!
The few mentions in the press said it was failing to appear on a misdemeanor warrant. I may be wrong.
In Minnesota is aggravated robbery at gunpoint a misdemeanor ?

Where are the journalists in this country when Britain's Daily Mail is the source for this story? You watch Project Veritas latest video and you understand why we no longer trust the mainstream media to inform us of objective truth. Doesn't happen.

OK, I thought I had read in one early report that the warrant was for armed robbery and aggravated assault. When I went back and searched.....guess what? The search engines hid that info, and the 'latest stories' all refused to release it.
A whole different kettle of fish.
Another violent young black man came to a violent end. Pretty predictable. And THAT is why he was violently resisting arrest. He knew he was going stay in jail waiting for his trial.
What percentage of the black 20 year olds have a violent criminal history? Half? More than half?

This guy should be alive right now. All he had to do was peacefully comply with the police. His escalation of the event caused the police to escalate their responses and when there are loaded guns involved, the danger is magnified astronomically. Any mistake becomes a life threatening mistake. The officer did the wrong thing at the right time and now this person is dead. That's all it takes. Many lives have been adversely affected. I always counseled my son to comply with police. It seems in the black community, the counseling is different.
I must say, it is sad that I have to get the full story from a UK based site, and not a US source. The first amendment is alive and well...in Britain. Actually, the Daily Mail is one of my first gotos now, because they don't edit the guts out of the story. I can't find any American sites with that courage.

Another choir boy image flushes down the drain because of media lies. We live in a sick society when only a black can murder another black without riots and burning a city down. Its always somebody else's fault except when its their fault. Problem is, they don't fear the police, they hate the police. If they feared the police they would be following the officers instructions when stopped and they would live to tell about it. Nobody talks about that. They say the police have to change, but no, its the community that has to change their attitude toward law enforcement. Got it..

I think whites should riot because they still haven't named the killer of Ashley Babbitt. We know it was a black capitol cop, and someone on that farce knows who it is. Hey, if the blacks can riot over every thug that gets themselves killed by a cop, we should be able to do it, too!

That’s why black get shot. Most have criminal records or warrants fo their arrest. Resisting arrest is a natural reaction for crooks.

#6, no, he didn't need to die. I'm sure the cop that accidently shot him would be the first to agree with that, as that was clearly not her intention.
But (and that is a big "but"), if he hadn't escalated things, and complied with the directions of the officers, it never would have gotten to that point. This past week in Texas, two cops were shot (with one being dead now). In the heat of a situation, in the blink of an eye, it is usually life or death for the cop. So they have to trust their guts. Are they always right? Of course not. But if they are wrong, it far more often leads to the cop's death than the criminal's.
