Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi said Tuesday she would have fought Capitol rioters should they have entered the House chamber, according to USA Today.
Pelosi and other members of Congress were in the House chamber on Jan. 6 when a group of rioters entered seeking to disrupt the certification of the 2020 presidential election.
Pelosi was asked by USA Today what she would have done if she wasn’t evacuated in time, to which she responded, “Well, I’m pretty tough. I’m a street fighter. They would have had a battle on their hands.”

The U.S. Capitol Police officer who shot dead an Air Force veteran during the tumultuous events on Jan. 6 will not be charged, the Department of Justice (DOJ) announced Wednesday.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia and the DOJ’s Civil Rights Division decided jointly not to pursue charges against the officer.
The decision came after a “thorough investigation” into the shooting of Ashli Babbitt, a 35-year-old who joined others in storming the U.S. Capitol in Washington during a joint session of Congress in January. Babbitt was shot while trying to climb through a broken window into the Speaker’s Lobby, adjacent to the House chamber.

Vice President Kamala Harris said Wednesday she has no plans to visit the U.S. southern border but she’s looking forward to a trip soon to Mexico and Guatemala to address the core causes of surging migration from Central America. She also cautioned that her work isn’t likely to show noticeable results anytime soon. “It will take some time to see the benefits of that work,” Ms. Harris said. “These are not issues that are going to be addressed overnight in terms of the root causes.”(Snip) Ms. Harris said the U.S. needs to provide the region with economic development aid, to give “some hope

The National Collegiate Athletic Association, a cartel controlling the multibillion-dollar college athletics business, may be painting itself into a corner. Probably because it is a creature of the higher education industry that has gone off the deep end in its commitment to far-left politics, the NCAA is taking an extreme position on transgenderism and apparently seeking a confrontation with the State of Florida if it passes a law currently under consideration that would limit participation in women’s sports to biological women. President Joe Biden wants cities to put more apartment buildings and multifamily units, such as converted garages, in areas traditionally zoned for single-family housing. As part of his $2.3 trillion infrastructure plan, cities would allow for smaller lots and for apartment buildings with fewer than six units to be built next to a traditional house. Current zoning laws that favor single-family homes – known as exclusionary zoning – have disproportionately hurt low-income Americans. Many of them can't afford to buy a big lot of land, leaving them trapped in crowded neighborhoods earmarked in the past for Black and brown residents, while white

White House press secretary Jen Psaki said the Biden administration is currently “engaged with NASCAR and Country Music TV,” among multiple other venues, in an effort to reach White conservatives who may be hesitant to get vaccinated against COVID-19. During a press briefing Monday, Ms. Psaki was asked to address a New York Times report that said rural states such as Mississippi, Ohio and Oklahoma are seeing a lackluster demand for the vaccine. Ms. Psaki said the White House was addressing the problem primarily at the local level but that other measures had been taken to “get directly connected to White conservative communities”

The White House is spending close to $352 a night to provide beds to the estimated 80,000 migrant families expected to flood the border from now until September, according to a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement document obtained by the Washington Examiner.
The contract rents out hotels in Texas and Arizona for six and a half months — 199 days. In these hotels, 1,239 beds will be occupied by those participating in the border surge, which the government dubs “emergency family reception sites.” After three days of sleeping in the hotel, migrant families who entered the country illegally will then be freed into the United States with a court date to

President Biden’s U.N. ambassador wants the world to know that the Declaration of Independence and the principles espoused within are laced with “White supremacy.” Linda Thomas-Greenfield made the blanket comments about founding documents this week while speaking to the Al Sharpton-founded National Action Network (NAN). “I have seen for myself how the original sin of slavery weaved White supremacy into our founding documents and principles,” she said.(Snip) She did, however, lament a rise in hate crimes and the “bullying, discrimination, and violence that Asian Americans face every day—especially since the outbreak of COVID-19.” Ms. Thomas-Greenfield noted that continuing struggles with
