For as long as anyone can remember, to be a conservative meant embracing what is today known as civic nationalism. This is a form of nationalism that champions the traditional liberal values of individual liberty, equality before the law, tolerance of cultural diversity, and individual rights. Unlike old-school European nationalism, civic nationalism is divorced from biology. As Ben Shapiro would put it, nations are just ideas. In fact, there is growing suspicion that civic nationalism was always a lie. It was a way to keep middle-class whites from seeing who was subverting their society and corrupting their culture.

One simply CANNOT win a game in which one's opponent owns the board and can change the rules to suit his purposes.
Solution: Do not play the game.

Given how I feel about the injustice that has taken over the nations courts and the election process I'm going to have a hard time getting very enthusiastic about holidays like the 4th of July anymore. I can never forget Memorial Day or Veteran's day because those sacrifices can never be erased. But Independence Day is starting to feel more like a day of mourning and less of a celebration.

This is a Huge and important question: where do we go now? We are essentially the new Dissident Right, old-school conservatism is dead. Civic Nationalism has not worked for us - ever. We have played by the rules and obeyed the managerial class and here we are now standing by as our country is taken over by Communists, and there is no way to resolve this in sight. This is the result of Conservative leaders bleating out the same tired old conservative case, playing by the rules (think Lindsey Graham), Trump being the last ditch effort to make the system work but it failed! Where do we go now? Fascinating article.

#3 asks, "Where do we go now?" I think #1 has the answer, "Do not play the game."
We're not the first people to fall under communism, but we could be the last. President Trump taught us, and the world, how to fight back against totalitarians. He had them all, including China and Iran, on the ropes so much they had to steal the election in the dead of night. Not content to deny him his rightful elected office, they are hell-bent to smash him politically, professionally and personally. This scorched earth strategy includes his children...even Barron. It also includes the American people. The same people they don't understand. They have no clue, while we "adapt and overcome." (TK is a Marine. Viet Nam 66-68. He volunteered for a second tour.)
President Trump did not play their game. He busted up their charades and started playing baseball. Hard ball. He never accepts their premise, but instead implements real-world actions to solve the perpetual problem they've milked for decades. He proved to his countrymen, and the world, how wonderful freedom works when it's allowed to work. When they put up roadblocks, he either worked around them or bulldozed through them. We must model our actions after his.
The good news is there is a pony under this pile. Our exulted elites are intellectually lazy and haven't had an original thought in a hundred years. Their bureaucrats are inefficient and ineffectual due to their "progressive" ideals. Rather than focus on the mission of the office or agency, the employees are bombarded with endless consciousness-raising sessions disguised as meetings. Efficiency is an unknown concept, and I believe the word is verboten. A novel idea is killed faster than a cockroach in a new mother's kitchen. I know. Through a combination of three separate stints in city & county civil service, I survived 23 years. Ye, gads! I never added it up before!
Quiet non-compliance is the key. Whenever a new edict is enacted, pretend you didn't get the memo. This can work for a long time. If a county is enacting a new land ordinance, say putting meters on private wells, they first notify by letter. Throw it away. There will be plenty of compliant comrades who will respond. Staff will be busy for a long time with the easy people. Throw all follow-up letters away. If I know my drones, and I do, the problem children will be put at the bottom of the in-basket. Your file could stay there for years. Buy as much time as you can.
With foresight, TK moved us up here to the homestead 22 years ago this June. It will be easier for us to ignore the madding crowd. Over at the Treehouse, Sundance often ends his posts with "Live your best life." Throughout the difficulties ahead our reliance on God and His Holy Word will guide us through this exile life. At the end of this road is eternal life with Our Lord Jesus Christ. Our mission is to always fight the Good Fight. Do not consent to evil. Saints are not born; they are made.
