The practice of democracy in our constitutional republic flourishes in the presence of contradictions. Democracy, itself, is bound by our inalienable rights, bestowed to us by our Creator. These rights, not given to us by our government by any majority or by any vote, cannot be rescinded, for they were not wrought by man.
Voting is a contradiction for it is both public and private at the same time. Its process is intended to be secret, but transparent. Its agency is intensely partisan, but its effect is intended to be unifying.
The legitimacy of voting must survive despite the contradictions intrinsic to the process.

Step #1. Stop sending money to Washington DC or any of the state capitals.

We don't need 'steps'; we need all States to follow the rules/laws.
All voting is to be done IN-PERSON, by REGISTERED voters, using a photo I.D. Absentee ballots must be REQUESTED and have cause. Only legal voters allowed to vote. AND, use PAPER BALLOTS that are hand counted NOT run through electronic counters. Observers from all parties allowed to monitor with no interference.

Will never happen while democrats have control of any part of the legislature or executive branches of government.

If the current election is allowed to stand then it does not matter what is done in the future. We will be forever broken. There are democrats out there who do not even consider what they did as cheating.

There is no system that can be devised that cannot be corrupted or manipulated to give a favored outcome. That said the need for ID and in-person voting with a provision for absentee votes (the way it was 50 years ago or so) works just fine. Add to this strict enforcement of laws against voter fraud with serious penalties that are actually enforced and the fraud will dwindle greatly.

You can't fundamentally transform a country by free elections or by telling the truth.

I'd like to see election tampering (read cheating) in a federal elections a federal crime with severe prison time. As long as there's a continuation of Democrat candidates needing 50. 001% of votes to win an election and Republicans needing 55%, America will continue to spiral downward.

Any revamp of voting that does not allow dems to cheat is doomed to failure.

#1 It doesn't matter what your laws are if local election officials can override them however they wish to modify the rules before an election. Like mailing out 2.4 million ballots to the general public w/no chain of custody.
#2 We need what in the IT community we call "Best Practices" to guide election procedures. Compact, definitive list of best practices that any objective observer can determine who is or is not in compliance.

All this talk about voter integrity is out the window from here on if Biden is handed the fraud election. There will never be another Republican in office ever again. If Trump receives a second term because of the immense voter fraud being proven then there is hope. I'm not holding my breath on this and will most surely remember 2020, as it could be the year the Republic died.
Remember Pelosi said before Nov. 3 there were still arrows in the democrat quiver well this was the 'big one'.
I agree there needs to be changes but one party will not agree to those changes.

Honest elections are not possible when Democrats cheat. Democrats are in search of power, which comes from getting elected. Getting elected means more ballots than the other person. Obvious conclusion: print more ballots. Then count them. Many times. Is simple. Then arrange for voting "machines" which change votes. It is legal, as they haven't been caught yet. Change enough votes and win. Then buy more "machines". Then cheat some more.
Eventually you will own it all.

No early voting. Require a photo id from each voter. Paper ballots that are signed by each voter. Those three steps alone will eliminate the kind of fraud we've seen in this election.

Nothing says nothing like the proverbial" We must fix the system so this NEVER happens again" screech ;meaning "we just CAN'T punish anyone until we do-and probably not even then". No surprise that a "Poindexter" would write this.

But, John, we aren't going to deal with this "next time". I want the November 3, 2020 presidential election results overturned first and we'll go from there.

Actually, I believe that elections CAN be designed so they are fraud-proof. At a minimum, definitively auditable. I make that assertion having spent much of my adult life analyzing and designing both processes and automated systems that need to be auditable, including the ability to trace when and by whom an attempt was made to create or edit an entry fraudulently.
The most important part of the strategy that would assure validity and verifiability is to have a "unique verified voter ID" (like the "Real ID" that will soon be required for air travel) AND a "unique ballot ID." If both were developed and required in every state, a few additional process staps (such as two-factor verification that that particular voter did in fact receive/submitted that particular ballot) would assure fair elections regardless of whether they are mail-in, early, or in person.
So it IS possible to do it. The only question is whether the Republicans will find the will to force it to happen over the desperate objections of the Democrats.

After the Bush/Gore fiasco, the election reform commission, chaired by President Carter and Secretary of State James Baker, released a report in 2005 with recommendations about how to restore confidence in the electoral system. Among these were practices that were to be prohibited.
This election, ever one of these recommended prohibitions were implemented by Democrats. It seems that the Democrats used the 2005 Carter-Baker report as a manual for how to rig an election!
Since many of these changes were not made by state legislatures, but other officials, they violate the US Constitution. The Constitution states that only state legislatures can make the voting rules.

Bottom-line, the only way the Left can gain and keep power at all is by cheating. That explains why it's their modus operandi and lifeblood. Without it, they die.....

Good luck, as long as election and voter fraud favor the Democrats big time, nothing will be done to stop those frauds that the Democrats have been perfecting in their liberal big cities for over a hundred years. The reason for that is that the Republicans are too naive and wimpy to actually take on mass election and voter fraud. In that respect you can safely bet that there are a whole bunch of wimpy Republicans in the Congress who are happy to be in the minority, where they can covertly money grub as much as possible, and where they would not be responsible for passing any legislation, and can go home to their conservative Districts and States and “snow” their constituencies to the effect that everything that is wrong in DC is the fault of the leftist and liberal Democrats who control the Congress.
