Late Saturday afternoon, during live coverage of the protests and riots in reaction to the police-involved death of Minneapolis resident George Floyd, CNN host John Berman and senior political analyst David Gergen fretted over Attorney General Bill Barr calling for "law and order" in a statement addressing the violence. Gergen called the choice of words a "dog whistle" and declared it to be "nuts" that it was included in the statement.

All one can say about Gergen is he's Out to Lunch and the restaurant is closed...he's waiting at the front door wondering why no one is letting him in...8 hours later he's sleeping on a park bench and gets arrested as a vagrant. Another day in the life of this total Moron!

Clearly, Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, former mayor of Baltimore, had the right answer. "[W]e also gave those who wished to destroy space to do that as well". /s

We have seen live coverage of the Democrat’s attempts to ‘calm things down’, starting with the pathetic mayor of Minneapolis. Gergen must have missed all that. And if he considers the phrase ‘law and order’ to be some kind of racist dog whistle than he’s the racist and also the one that’s nuts.

How come liberals are the only ones who ever hear these "dog whistles"? I mean besides dogs.

Relentless beatings and dog attacks on the rioters will calm things down quicker than any therapeutic babble from the likes of the poofter Mayor of Minneapolis and the washed up Gergen.

Gergen used to be somebody a long time ago. Sounds like he's morphed into a left-wing loon

#7, Gergen has been in a slo0w motion dive off the cliff, beginning with his willingness to be coopted by Dollar Bill Clinton back in the 1990s.
gergen's moral compass, never that strong, is now spinning in circles.
He is the Wrong way Corrigan of politics.

Gergen works for rich white liberals and he whistles their tune. It has made him wrong on everything he has ever said, but It has made him a good living. The man always speaks as if suffering from constipation. I doubt any of these characteristics make Gergen a very persuasive spokesman for the left.

A black man dies of a heart attack while being arrested for passing counterfeit bills in Minneapolis and the country erupts. In 2017 a Minneapolis cop named Mohamed Noor executes a blonde woman from Australia for no reason and everyone sat on their hands and said, "gee - that doesn't seem right". Do the protesters believe that people come in 'black' and 'disposable'? Only a black man deserves justice? Isn't shooting an unarmed woman in the head a bit more injustice than a perp having a heart attack? If Floyd were white there wouldn't have even been a local news story. Black privilege... I guess. All this is to try to blame Trump somehow. Which is absurd... but we've come to expect absurd.

Isn't it time CNN's broadcast license was pulled? They perform no useful public function.

#1 has such a way with a phrase. LOL Gergen has been lights out for years, especially during the Dubya and Obama eras. He bookends David Brooks very well for they are a matched set of numptys.
Everyone is asking very good and very relevant questions. I loathe pot stirrers like Gergen.

Gergen is nuts, and AG Barr is correct.

An excerpt from another article in the news today:
"Methvin compared two July 1967 riots: In Toledo, rioters began smashing things, throwing rocks at police cruisers. The authorities resounded instantly and decisively, arresting the thugs, with order restored within 36 hours. No one died.
Not so in Detroit, where the authorities decided to allow rioters to let off steam. Five days of violence followed, with more than 40 fatalities and more than one thousand injured. Property damage was estimated at over $40 million, in 2020 dollars, roughly $300 million. It was the worst rioting in America since the 1863 New York City draft riots, not to be exceeded in scale until the 1992 Rodney King riots."

Dave 'gurgling' Gergen is still alive? He's the media elitists' stuffed Pubbie-Toy to be trotted out and onto the set when they need someone to dissemble on stage and speak lies about what Republicans should really think. Call him what he is, "Crazy Gergenheim."
