President Trump blasted Jeff Sessions once again this weekend. He tweeted:
3 years ago, after Jeff Sessions recused himself, the Fraudulent Mueller Scam began. Alabama, do not trust Jeff Sessions. He let our Country down. That’s why I endorsed Coach Tommy Tuberville (@TTuberville), the true supporter of our #MAGA agenda!
There’s nothing new here or in Trump’s follow-up venting. What’s new is that this time Sessions, whose chances of defeating coach Tuberville reportedly are slim, fired back:
Look, I know your anger, but recusal was required by law. I did my duty & you’re damn fortunate I did.

Again, look at the poster. Yes, Jeff Sessions, deserves everything he is getting. He served no justice in a situation when he recused himself. It would have been more appropriate resigning or not taking the job in the first place. I tire easily of posters claiming that Donald Trump should stop. If it was your reputation and character being attacked on a daily basis, would you stop? It is your choice if you choose to but don't judge people who want to fight for their life.

Session KNEW that the Russian probe was bs and he got scared of the deep state and ran the other way. That action put our Country into 3 years of fake ginned up "Collusion" by the media and deep state idiots who then Impeached President Trump. And Trump is supposed to stop? NO. Enough. We are done with the lying media and we are done with people who won't stand for TRUTH.
The leftwing media is the enemy of our Country.

Sessions recused himself without consulting with the president and that is insane. My only fault with Trump is that he let Sessions stay in too long.

Agree with OP. President Trump is only helping Doug Jones. Should Sessions win the runoff some Republicans might not vote for him because of the hate and anger stirred up by the President. Outside interference in our Senate primary is one of the reasons we got Jones in the first place. Groups affiliated with Mitch McConnell ran vicious negative ads against Mo Brooks in support of Luther Strange in the special election for Sessions' seat. Strange and Roy Moore made it to the runoff and the rest is history. Many Alabamians were already leery of Strange because of his actions as Atty. General, his negative ads reinforced this. Had McConnell stayed out of it things might have worked out differently. Sessions did what he thought was right. He is not the cause of Trump's "reputation and character being attacked". Maybe he made a mistake, so have others in the Trump admin. Trump himself, praising (rightly so) Gen. Flynn now, fired him. He did not stand by him but he did what he believed he had to do. So did Sessions. The goal here is to defeat Doug Jones. Let Alabamians decide. We cannot afford to hand it to the Democrats for six more years.

I agree with Trump. Sessions should have resigned .He sat on his ass while Rome burned. No supervision to the Rosenstein-Mueller -Strok cabal. He put the country thru 2 years of hell.

If he couldn't do the job, he should have resign, or 'recused' himself before he accepted the position. The more I look at this, the more Sessions stands out as a key part of the problem.

You bet #1. One has to really twist yourself into a pretzel to see Sessions as honorable.
Yes, we need to keep the Senate Republican but the voters will exhibit the courage Session lacked and vote for Tuberville. Sessions promises he would reliably stand with Trump. He is concerned only with getting back with Mitch and company for LIFE. This is not about what is good for Alabama.

Oh yes he does OP. He served the swamp not the nation and he participated in the attempted coup. Sessions deserves every drop of scorn and mocking we can give him. I truly hope Alabama elects Tuberville, he supports Trump.
As a general observation, most of the problems we have right now are because of all the cuckservatives who do not like it when decent people respond badly to poor treatment from politicians or the media. That problem went on since at least 2000, when Bush beat out the cuckservative darling named McCain. We have a man who is an actual voice for us now in DC, and I for one welcome his defending us and himself against swamp rats like Sessions. Who by the way, lied through his teeth to Trump, along with his buddy Grassley who refused to vet a new nominee when it became apparent Sessions refused to do the job.

Anti-Trumper Mirengoff steps into the fray with his own clickbait story. This is a nothingburger. Few pay any attention to Sessions any more, even in his own state. His coming out of mothballs and whining now is absurd. He caused a lot of damage. And Ann Coulter is detritus of another time. She is all about Ann. Ask the average person if they know who she is.
Mirengoff will have to find another “let’s make the President look bad” meme… but some will always be happy to post his scribblings.

Oh please #4. Where does appeasing a situation help it? I have said this so many times. I think the Republican party (national level) needs to get their act together and define what a Republican is. As soon as someone decides to run for office as a Republican, guidelines should be discussed with that person by the head of the National Republican party. When Republicans start veering off course, the party should be having a discussion with that person. This is getting old and I personally think it is about time that roles are defined.

Sessions effectively worked for the Deep State in recusing himself, and I do NOT trust him. I know someone who had a couple of meetings with Sessions while he was AG. When asked what he thought of Sessions, he indicated that he felt like Sessions was just doing what his "aides" told him to do, and my friend could not explain at all why Sessions seemed so totally helpless.
I wouldn't vote for Sessions for a post on a home owner's association, let alone for the Senate.

Anyone from Alabama, enlighten me. Does Doug Jones have any chance of winning here? Won't Republicans support whoever is the nominee?

IF Sessions had done his JOB instead of hiding behind Mommies dress there would have been NO RUSSIA investigation, PERIOD! Sorry I'm not cutting him any slack because he just happens to be a Republican...
