A former governor of Massachusetts is offering himself as a Republican alternative to President Donald Trump. No, it’s not Mitt Romney. Bill Weld has no illusions about winning the GOP nomination but says he’s running because it’s time for somebody to stand up and plant a flag. “The flag is decency. The flag is integrity. It’s not an issue. It’s not free trade,” he told the Deseret News and KSL editorial boards Friday during a campaign stop in Utah. Weld was scheduled to tour the Latter-day Saint Humanitarian Center and visit Utah Valley University. Weld sees Utah among the top three states (behind Vermont, ahead of Massachusetts) where he

Didn't Weld pull this same antic in 2016? Just a Never Trumper spoilsport.

Weld is left holding the bag after the impeachment campaign failed to drop PDT's poll numbers into challengable figures. Had they done so, Mitt would have jumped into the race...and because they did not Weld, who was fronting the organization, was left alone. He's making the best of nothing. Mitt will be back after the GOP convention as a "moderate" third-party entry to "save" the Republican party and broaden its appeal in the face of "socialism". The basic mission is to siphon enough "moderate Republican" votes from PDT to toss the close states to the Dem nominee. Let's not forget, only 70,000 votes were the difference between PDT and President Hillary Clinton.

Weld and Romney belong to the puzzy wing of the RINO party all worried about decency and decorum. All that decency and decorum got the Bushes squat but the democrats were happy to play along.

Weld must be a little short on pocket money. I wonder how many suckers would contribute money to me, if I jumped into the race?

I like Bill Weld who once said, "the best welfare program is a good job." He is a great guy, but Bill... the only reason you still have some prestige and dignity left is that nobody knows either who you are or that you are even running. As pointed out elsewhere, the best place for you to run is 21 or the Harvard Club for a nice soothing martini.

If he gets 10% in all three of these states combined, he will claim a "moral victory".
And then take his hard-earned spot as a token "conservative" over on CNN or MSNBC...

Meaning Weld is broke, desperate for attention, and campaign funds are better than standing at an intersection with a sign.

What this guy spouts is the exact reason we voted for PDT. It's time we fought back and he's doing a great job.

Do you remember when Weld was the gov of MA? Yeah, he resigned to gov job with the hope that BJC would appoint him to be an ambassador to someplace. BJC never appointed him to anything.
Weld certainly made a fool of himself.
