The House is now investigating whether President Trump gave false answers in the written responses he provided to former special counsel Robert Mueller as part of the Russia investigation. House general counsel Douglas Letter requested in federal court Monday that secret grand jury evidence from Mueller’s investigation be provided to the House for its impeachment investigation into Trump, citing concerns that the president may have lied in his written responses to Mueller. “Did the President lie? Was the President not truthful in his responses to the Mueller investigation?” Letter asked in a letter to the U.S. Court of Appeals for

Just because tweo people remember an event differently does not mean either of them is "Lying".
Trump said he did not remember a conversation, Cohen says the conversation took place, both can be true and neither individual is lying.
This I don't recall defense has been used, and accepted as the gospel truth, by dems literally thousands of times (see anytime Hillary has testified, under oath).
If you believe it unconditionally for dem defendants, you must do the same for repub defendants.

This is nothing, wait until the democrats get to "Double Scoop-Gate". How dare Trump ask for extra ice cream....there has to be a crime there somewhere.
All this leftist insanity has me wondering if they're going bat sh&t crazy because the Barr-Durham investigation is really going to thin out the democrat ranks with indictments and resignations. I believe they were up to their wallets in Ukraine corruption, using the country as a laundromat for US tax dollars.

The Chinese have a torture called "a thousand little cuts" which results in death (or, in this instance, impeachment). The Dems and perhaps the Deep State, are masters of this process. Accuse Trump of any wrongdoing, and they are hoping that something will stick by the 2020 election. After all, haven't we always heard "Where's there's smoke, there's fire"?

OMG. This is what is called beating a dead horse. Wasn't the $34 million spent by Weissman/Mueller enough? I mean, we get it. You don't like Trump and want to get rid of him. I felt the same way about Obama, but we do have a Constitution and form of government (which the dems are trashing). This really is dangerous stuff, and the electorate too dumbed down, too indoctrinated by our education system, and too out of touch with our traditions (unvetted immigrants) to know differently.

It's NOT up to the house. They can recommend it to the Senate, once all T's have been crossed and all I's dotted, but the Senate makes the ultimate decision through a public vote AFTER a trial where the accused is afforded ALL of his Constitutional rights, unlike the Soviet kangaroo Court currently occurring in the House.
This is just another steaming shovelful headed to the leftist dungheap in Congress!!

Lying to Mueller in an investigation is the same as Clinton lying to the FBI. Clinton got impeached but not tried. This is just another witch hunt. The impeachment parameters are so great they can investigate anything they want to look into. They can't prove quid quo pro, they were working on extortion and found that didn't work because the populace didn't really understand 'what extortion' and now they are bribery. First time in history that charges have been changed twice in the process of trial. Lying to a special investigator is the new witch hunt.

Sounds like they realize 'Impeach!!' isn't flying so they'll try for a process crime - good luck with that as corrupt wiseman would have been all over that, plus President Trump had his lawyers going over every written answer to make certain there were no openings at all. Are we ready to play Cowboys and leftards yet?

So when Mueller's stern mug is plastered all over Old Medias' opening headlines again, you'll see those eyes now and know how empty it is behind them. You can hear that squeaky, feeble voice and laugh. Good times.

I read today that one Democratic member of the 'House' stood up and and said STOP the nonsense. If more did so, the H of R would have to cease the conspiratorial actions and get back to the work they are being paid to do. For the most part, they are almost all cowards, afraid of their own party bosses.

Trying to use a new tactic to see if they can obtain the SECRET grand jury testimony, which they are NOT entitled to, but hoping some Obama-appointed judge, I presume, will put blinders on and "rule" in their favor.
This is more Bull Schiff, and telling that the Democrats don't have what they thought they had. Particularly with them withholding transcripts from people who've testified but don't corroborate their desired narrative.

How about investigating whether or not there is an Easter Bunny, Santa Claus, Leprechauns, or Tooth Fairies.
This makes sensational anti-Trump lead stories and it will continue around the clock. After all, it is the seriousness of the false allegations and not the nature of the real evidence that matters in the court of public opinion as implanted by the art of mass brainwashing.

They are just admitting that the Ukraine phone call gambit isn't working so they'll try to leverage the Stone conviction. This is their second attempt to get the DC court to grant them access to the redacted grand jury testimony from the Mueller report. The original request from the House Judiciary Committee was granted by an Obama appointed judge and then stayed by 3 judges on a DOJ appeal so it failed. If they can get this gambit to fly it would give the impeachment inquiry "judicial enforcement authority" meaning they could compel testimony and documents from the Executive Branch and the President could not claim executive privilege. The suit should be dismissed as duplicative of the original decision but who knows with the DC court. The HJC hearings will be a total bust without this powerful authority but the court stayed this ruling because they don't believe the process is constitutional.

The partisan Democrat Ukraine impeachment inquisition is going into a tail spin, so the Democrats are looking to dredge up another bogus charge against Trump, this time relating to his written answers to their questions in the phony Russian collusion inquisition. This is just another reason why President Trump should never set a precedent by testifying either in person or in writing to the Democrat Ukraine impeachment inquisition, especially as Trump routinely uses an imprecise and non-lawyerly Queens, NY vernacular when he speaks that the Democrats are bound to turn on end claiming that Trump committed perjury in that testimony.
It’s time for Trump to tell the Democrats to go jump in the lake, as it would never be correct for the President, who is the leader of the Executive Branch of the federal government to diminish himself by testifying before the supposed co-equal Legislative Branch that is trying to remove the him from office over partisan political policy differences, and obviously to assume a dominant position over the Executive Branch now and in the future. The founding fathers were highly perceptive of that happening well over 200 years ago. Now here we are.

Let me get this straight, when a Clinton says they have no recollection it becomes gospel. But democrats get to decide what Trump remembers and what he does not. Just making sure I know the rules.

Agree with several other posters. Three things though. The impeachment scam isn't going over so they're coming up with another fake charge and see if it sticks. The Barr-Durham investigation, if it ever comes out, will be damaging or Ginsberg is a lot sicker than we've been told. They have to make President Trump ineligible to nominate a Supreme Court Justice.

This is more about Barr, than it is Trump. They never imagined Trump would release the transcripts to the Ukraine call, and were going to make stuff up and claim Trump was covering it up. He quickly released it, and blew their plan out of the water. Barr has to give them the grand jury testimony which, he can't, and he won't, This is their effort to neutralize him before the findings of the ISG and Durham reports come out.

What is really GREAT is that next time the Republicans get control of the House they are certain to act as though they are still in the minority and will accordingly act like the Democrat Parties house guests, careful not to insult anyone or break anything.

The American people are trying to determine whether the current House of Representatives represents them at all and should remain in office. Of course President Trump should remain in office. He's doing a good job and getting things accomplished. The Congress hasn't done anything for 3 years except waste their time trying to remove him from office. I'm more interested in whether or not Mueller lied to the President and the American people.

I'm pretty sure he trimmed his toenails once and left the clippings on the floor. Someone should investigate. And then we should put on an impeachment show. With lots of witnesses who never saw him do it, but are pretty sure it disqualifies him from office. Sheesh.
