Study: Religious School Kids Are Way More
Tolerant And Informed Than Public Schoolers

Original Article

A new study by researchers at the University of Arkansas and the University of Buckingham, which analyzed 57 international studies, concluded that religious schools are far more effective at teaching children to become engaged citizens than secular public schools — resulting in students who model political tolerance, knowledge, and skills better than their publicly educated peers. The study found that receiving a private, faith-based education increased political tolerance and knowledge by 12 percent of a standard deviation. In turn, receiving such an education also resulted in increased volunteering and community engagement — all positive traits for a healthy society.

I was the principal of a 2-room, 8-grade Lutheran school out in the countryside. Our students, for the most part, scored much higher on the achievement tests than their public school peers. Our students would enter the public school system in 9th-grade, and often had to coast for at least a semester until they learned something "new." Public school teachers would respond to the higher academic scores our students would get by saying, "Well, that's because you're a private school and can be selective when you admit students; we have to take everybody!" However, we charged no tuition and anyone that expressed a desire to enroll was accepted. The two teachers in their 4-grade classrooms worked tirelessly without any teacher aides or assistance. I will go to my grave defending multi-grade parochial school classrooms, Unfortunately, the school where I was privileged to serve, closed due to low enrollment. When visiting prospective families, I often heard two reasons why they elected public school over our school: 1. The public school can offer so much more in sports, band, and other extra-curricular activities. 2. "We let our children decide where they want to go - and they've chosen the public school, because that's where their friends go."

always have and always will be speaking from a publicly schooled "student" from the 40's, 50's and 60's in and around Boston, where "education" was a "profession" to be praised and emulated but the catholic school kids were always more advanced than we were from the public schools

A week or two ago we attended one of our grandson's year end presentations. 20 or more home-schooled kids dressed as historical figures and gave a memorized biography. Audience then answered "Who am I?" The vocabulary they were using (4th grade) was adult level. Probably exceeded a lot of current college students.

A model-turned DEI manager who was fired because she posed in front of an Israeli flag emblazoned with swastikas is now suing because her First Amendment rights were 'violated'. Sherzad, who identified as Muslim, and who is in a relationship with a woman, began her role in October, 2023, and travelled to Barcelona to attend a pro-Palestinian rally just two months later.

House Speaker Mike Johnson reportedly apologized to President Joe Biden for rolling his eyes at the president’s angry State of the Union address in March. Johnson’s office did not deny his apology when Breitbart News asked for comment. The apology is the latest revelation that suggests Johnson’s sympathies lie with the establishment and Washington, DC, elites, rather than with the voters who elected him to Congress and the Republican conference. Just last week, Biden steamrolled Johnson by allowing Democrats to, in effect, seize control of the House, thereby allowing Biden’s agenda to sail through Congress.
