It was the music that changed first. Or maybe that’s just when many people at the pale brick Catholic church in the quiet Wisconsin neighborhood finally began to realize what was happening.
The choir director, a fixture at St. Maria Goretti for nearly 40 years, was suddenly gone. Contemporary hymns were replaced by music rooted in medieval Europe. (SNIP) The shift, molded by plummeting church attendance, increasingly traditional priests and growing numbers of young Catholics searching for more orthodoxy, has reshaped parishes across the country, leaving them sometimes at odds with Pope Francis and much of the Catholic world.

There is a very large Catholic Church about a mile from us and it is always full. Maybe there is hope…

Good! About time. Our parish was part of our life when we were young. Forty Hours, Stations of the Cross, Parish CYO organizations. GET back to that too. (I still see Nuns that were teaching at the school I attended. My wonderful 8th grade teacher just passed away in the fall. I actually miss her)
I can't stand the "hymns" sung in church, so I along with many others, do not sing. The one "hymn" sung in church was "down to the river to pray" Instead of singing, I stood up and looked for the Foggy Bottom Boys to see if they were singing along .

The movement reported in this is real, even if American Pravda predictably mischaracterizes the reasons behind it.
The Second Vatican Council was not invalid; but Tradition is not obsolete. Blessed be God for ever!

The Catholic church where I go is pretty old fashioned. The services are PACKED and there are lots of young families. I think that says something.

Our Catholic Church still uses bells, incense, and talks about sins, confession and God's grace and the forgiveness of sins. Our Catholic School is great, Christ centered and well attended. The Masses are well attendend and the message is glorious. I love going to Mass, I do not miss a weekend and I feel a sense of communtiy while I am there. I don't care if the FBI is in the parking lot taking our license plate number either...

Oh, Tim, that’s an awful lot of verbiage devoted to your fears about the Catholic Church’s recognition of its own doctrine. There are way too many ignorant premises and theories to address. Human beings need roots. The current culture is rootless. It’s really not any more difficult than that. But please, don’t try to sell me that one man needed his comments to be anonymous because he was afraid of retribution. That’s the progressive side of the spectrum, Tim.

I am a Catholic to my bones, but I left my local church when they rearranged to wording of the Mass yet again and removed the Latin influences and hymns and turned to the secular instead of the Sacred. This was mainly thanks to Pope Francis.
Prior to this, I attended Mass every Sunday, was in the choir, looked forward to the beauty of the various holiday celebrations, etc. I will likely return on the advent of a new plume of white smoke over the Vatican but not before.

Don't know about the rest of the country, but the Catholic churches in East Texas have seen a great boom in attendance - and building. Mostly because of hispanic 'immigrants'. Many, if not most, are deeply religious - maybe an unforeseen consequence of the progressives' open border policies.

People are hungry for the Gospel. And God. And they don't like this 'make it up as we go' stuff with the Ligbit (LGBT) flags and the "if you don't like it, we'll change it" mentality. Where Churches, any church, preaches the good news, it will have good attendance and the Gospel, and only the Gospel, is baked into Catholicism; aberrations are simply that--departures that will get dealt with.
So. Alert the FBI already.
