Romney ‘Can’t Understand’ Why Trump Would
‘Disparage’ ‘Heroic,’ ‘Honorable’ McCain

Breitbart Politics, by Tony Lee

Original Article

Posted By:ladydawgfan, 3/20/2019 8:08:56 AM

Freshman Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT) on Tuesday evening said he cannot understand why President Donald Trump would “disparage” the late Sen. John McCain (R-AZ), whom Romney described as “heroic,” “courageous,” “patriotic,” and “honorable.” “I can’t understand why the President would, once again, disparage a man as exemplary as my friend John McCain: heroic, courageous, patriotic, honorable, self-effacing, self-sacrificing, empathetic, and driven by duty to family, country, and God,” Romney tweeted.

Comments:
That´s because you are a pathetic moron who hasn´t been paying attention to McStain´s record of voting against the interests of his constituents and this country!

I don´t have any trouble believing that at all.
I´m positive he doesn´t understand.
I have no doubt he also doesn´t understand why PDJT was elected (hint: DJT actually campaigned and put forth some effort)

Mittens is a nitwit.

McCain circulated the utterly bogus and discredited fake “dossier” that Hillary paid for, in an attempt to undermine and reverse the 2016 election in what basically amounts to supporting a despicable “DeepState Uniparty” Coup Attempt.

That is sedition, and possibly outright treason. You loser doofus!!

Mittens is a nice man, but he has little in common with persons people who see their way of life being dismantled on a daily basis by the the socialists and attacks from the media.

The RINOs stand up for each other, but NOT the base of the party who wants republicans to stand on principle and NOT on what will sell out the nation.

It is not just that Nobama and the socialists gained an 8-year foothold moving at light speed towards socialism that has now come home to create a real threat to our way of life that upsets the base, it is that Mittens/Ryano so easily peddled the sell of our stability by kicking the can down the road on so many issues by their allegiance to the RINOs.

The evidence of this is how NOT ONE SINGLE REPUBLICAN voted for Nobamacare, but now the RINOcrts have taken over the party and WON"T vote AGAINST it or to protect our national security from the INVASION at the border.

The RINOs keep rolling over and playing dead because only a few still fight against the wave of idiocy that is proposed by the left.

Mr. Wikipedia tells me that Mitt got several deferments and various reasons. IMO, his daddy was the governor of Michigan and he could. This is only one of many things that Romney doesn´t understand. The Mittens received two 2-S student deferments. One 4-D ministerial deferment while a missionary. And, two additional student deferments thereafter.

Like rarely disparages like. That´s why Romney sees no problem with McCain - cut from the same cloth, politically.

The rest of America originally honored McCain as the ´representative´ of Vietnam POWs. But as he abused his status and our regard, we got fed up with him. The luster off, we saw him as the disingenuous Rat that he was. I´d rather not talk about him at all. But if certain people keep pushing his ´virtues´ I´ll start remarking about how they were anything but!!

For some reason,Romney seems committed to inheriting the title of republican "Maverick" that McCain so proudly held.

Sort of like a consolation prize for being rejected in the presidential campaign. Maybe that is how McCain saw it, too.

What do you think Weld is doing, getting Mitt´s band back together? Running for President?

They were and remain allegiant to big government country club Republicanism. They continue to walk among us.

The quick shot on this is to say I can´t understand why Mitt Romney can´t shut up. There´s no reason for a statement like this, and no benefit to the Republicans from making it. Every time Romney speaks, he aids and abets the leftist narratives that are being constructed to destroy our President. Anyone with basic political integrity or even rudimentary party loyalty would keep his mouth shut and let our enemies do the criticizing.

But, of course, I understand exactly why I Mitt Romney´s making statements like this, and so does anyone else who´s been reading this site for the last 15 years. Politically, he has never cared about anyone other than Mitt Romney. He is a completely unprincipled political opportunist. In this case, he re-entered politics to pursue one specific agenda. To bring down the Trump revolution from within and restore the Republican establishment that his father did so much to create.

None of this is a surprise to anyone. What is surprising is those who spoke so eloquently in support of putting Romney in the Senate, who reassured us that he would be "fine," who vouchsafed that his conservative Utah constituents would keep him in line, have nothing to say at this point. Not even the usual alibis: that Romney was being misquoted, that his intentions were being misrepresented by an unsympathetic media.

I sometimes wonder about such folks. Were they really that stupid? Or are they so self-deceived, that they saw no conflict in deceiving others so blatantly? The less charitable assessment is they knew exactly what they were doing and supported Romney dishonestly because they agree with his agenda: Destroy President Trump and bring back the perpetual Republican establishment that brought us guys like Jeb, George, George, and John.

Woke Mittens! When McCain was running against you for President he and Governor Huckabee both conspired against you in one state. GET IT! McCain is an EVIL man, the only thing saving his reputation is his war record which is fake news. The part of the BS that gets me about McCain is the war story that he didn´t want to go home and leave the other captured soldiers behind in Vietnam. False he didn´t want to face his father and Grandfather because he was a songbird, he also tried to commit suicide.

He never has had a connection with the majority of the American People. Not as a Corporate Raider with Bain Capital, not now.

Politicians such as McCain and Romney see the U.S. Senate as a House of Lords, and we need to stop electing them. It is not in our best interest.

I thoroughly disagree about Romney being a nice man. Nice men do not say and do things that Romney does currently and in the past. He is a guy who would willingly betray you, all while smiling oh so sincerely at the same time.

He is a pathetic example of a man who cannot succeed in the real world, not like Trump has done. It is starting to come out about some of his financial manipulations of companies while he headed Bain Capital.

I think that all the company bankruptcies from being deliberately front loaded with mountains of debt just so he and the managers could make money should put paid to Romney´s alleged skills at money making.

Romeny, are you actually so stupid and uninformed that you actually believe that McCain was honorable? McCain was a lot of things, but in the last 30 honorable is NOT one of them. I wonder how much honor he ever had, perhaps some in the POW camps, perhaps. Claims vary.

He pretended to be honorable, he claimed honor, but it was not true, at least for the last 25-30 years.

As one other poster has pointed out. Benedict Arnold was a genuine hero (more than McCain ever could even claim) before he wrecked it all by being a traitor. McCain wiped off entirely the very small bits of heroic and honorable conduct that he did by his despicable, mean, lying, political backstabbing in his later years, and probably corruption in the Keating mess.

You do not get a free ride forever if you do a small good thing. A man is judged by the totality of what he does.

McCain does not make it, no matter what fools like Romney say.

McCain sent David Kramer to spread the Dossier throughout the press AFTER Donald Trump was elected. McCain personally handed the false Dossier to FBI Director James Comey. McCain gave US the thumbs down and Obamacare lives on, it could have been saved if he only had told beforehand he was going to vote no. McCain-Feingold was a way of giving President GW Bush a black eye. McCain was a warmonger that responsible for Syria, Libya, who met with al-Baghdadi before he was the Caliph. McCain was a Globalist. McCain was small enough to plan his funeral to ensure President Trump and Sarah Palin were excluded. A truly small man, like vulture Mitt Romney.

Maybe because the guy was a vain vindictive skunk who went to extreme lengths to betray his party’s chosen candidate for President both before and after the election, leading to the Constitutional crisis of one executive department trying to control the government thru their unconstitutional manipulations. History will be far harder on McCain than Trump has been.

I am sorry that McCain was held prisoner during the Vietnam Nam war. I’m sorry his family has to hear what McCain was doing behind the scenes. In the end he did not think of his country or party, but only his own wounded pride.

Meanwhile the country is in a civil war.

He can´t understand it because he is McCain II: a squishy, unprincipled turncoat who loves to stick knives in the backs of fellow Republicans as long as it gets him TV time.

And in response to #31: Gov. Huckabee didn´t "conspire" with McCain to beat Romney. I worked on that campaign, and Huckabee flat-out beat Mittens by using his weaknesses against him to overcome his vast financial advantage. In fact, Fred Thompson conspired with McCain to sink Huckabee, coming into the debates and repeating a lot of garbage talking points about him not being a real conservative that too many Republican voters swallowed and some still parrot. They foolishly believed Thompson was a serious candidate, which he wasn´t. He was just a stalking horse for McCain. As soon as he fatally wounded Huckabee, he dropped out.

Huck still had a chance in a brokered convention if McCain had been kept from getting enough delegates, but Mittens then conspired with McCain, dropping out and throwing his support to him, and so we were stuck with Turncoat John for a candidate. I still have headaches from having to hold my nose hard enough to vote for either one of them in 2008 and 2012, which is testament to just how bad Obama was.

Not following, #41. Romney lost the GOP state convention vote to Mike Kennedy. During the follow-on primary, Kennedy was an option that Utah Republicans walked away from. Maybe they liked the way things work in Washington today. Orrin Hatch certainly felt Mitt Romney was the man for the job, and no one had spent more time in Washington making things the way they were than Orrin Hatch.

Utah had options. They chose Romney.

Trump was asked a question.. and Trump is every bit the maverick is McCain , two peas in a pod..John MCain rode on his family military record his courage as a prisoner, once out of the service he became more bitter of his own followers, being a maverick was his belief, but never fully supported The Bushes, lip service to Reagan and dispirsers ofcthe Republicans, so his finger was always in their eye... I bleed for his wife who played Back bencher, she is the accomplished one, raised the children, did the charity work, don’t believe she wrote a book and John probably 3 or more, fell to addiction and fought it off, she is the beautiful rich Lady that John used to advance his world travel life style.. John was no saint, his wife is.. God keep her safe!
So let’s turn the page.. let his wife lad the life she deserves. As for the self promoting one, I feel for her!

I donated more to Romney in 2012 than I have ever donated to any politician. My law partner and I closed our office to go work the polls for Romney. Now I regret it. Romney has become a santimonious jackass. He is also a carpetbagger who moved to Utah solely because he knew he could get elected to the Senate from here, and use it as a platform to keep his name in the papers.

Look Mitt...McCain was not an honorable man, he hid behind a staffer that spread lies and inundo about a duely elected president.
However, my brother who was blown in two by a land mine in Vietnam was an honorable man. Period.

If we did not invite you in – if you didn’t have the basic courtesy and respect for this country to ask to come here, then get out. Steny Hoyer tamps down impeachment talk

House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, D-Md., pushed back on impeachment talk after the release of special counsel Robert Mueller’s report Thursday. “Based on what we´ve seen to date, going forward on impeachment is not worthwhile at this point,” Hoyer told CNN. “Very frankly, there is an election in 18 months, and the American people will make a judgment.” Hoyer’s comments stand in contrast to those of some of his Democratic colleagues in Congress, who had called for President Trump’s impeachment even before the release Thursday of a redacted version of Mueller’s report into Russian influence in the 2016 elections.

Carl Bernstein argued Thursday that special counsel Robert Mueller’s report on Russian interference in the 2016 election and whether President Trump obstructed justice makes a valid case that the president is a threat to national security. Bernstein, a CNN analyst, cited his former Watergate colleague Bob Woodward’s book Fear: Trump in the White House, in which Woodward reported that former Cabinet officials believed Trump was not acting in the best interests of the United States and was a danger to national security. “That, too, comes through this report,” Bernstein told CNN.

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler said the special counsel Robert Mueller´s report was written “with the intent of providing Congress a roadmap” to investigate President Trump for obstruction of justice. Nadler, speaking at a New York press conference Thursday, made it clear House Democratic investigators are just getting started with probing Trump and plan to use the 400-plus page Mueller report to fuel the inquiry. Mueller “made it clear he did not exonerate the president and responsibility now falls to Congress” to continue the investigation and his report was meant to “preserve the evidence” for future investigations," Nadler said.

For the first time in Vatican history, the pope allowed for the reading of Islamic prayers and Koran readings from the Catholic facility. The readings and prayer came as Pope Francis met with Israeli President Shimon Peres and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas in Vatican City, a gathering designed to pray for Middle Eastern peace. A Holy See spokesman said the prayers were supposed to be a “pause in politics,” Breitbart reported. The pope said, too, that he hoped the interfaith prayers would foster peace specifically between Israelis and Palestinians, the news outlet said.

The voluminous report from special counsel Robert Mueller provides a deeply disturbing portrait of a candidate who welcomed the help of a foreign country to get elected and of a president who repeatedly attempted to undermine Mueller’s investigation. Now it is up to Congress and the American people to objectively digest the report and determine the fate of Donald Trump, who in no conceivable way has been exonerated. Over more than 400 plainly written pages released Thursday, the report provides a readable narrative that describes Trump’s eagerness for any help Russia could provide to help him win the 2016 election.
