New York prosecutors throw out
Constitution to charge Manafort

The Hill [DC], by Jonathan Turley

Original Article

Posted By:Pluperfect, 3/20/2019 5:25:46 AM

This month, the greatest off Broadway production should be titled “The Prosecutors,” starring Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr. and New York Attorney General Letitia James. As in another dramatic comedy, “The Producers,” the state case against former Donald Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort seems designed to fail, leaving its prosecutors with the convenient windfall of public support and none of the burden. The New York state charges that Vance filed against Manafort appear to run afoul of state and federal protections against double jeopardy, or being prosecuted twice for the same underlying conduct.

I always thought Manafort was a pretty sleazy character. That said, what they´ve done to him is nothing more than trying to take out Trump. Now that Manafort refused to "talk", he´s paying the price. Prosecutors knew Trump might just pardon him, so they decided to throw in the fake Sate Charges. I think they will get thrown out and I also think Trump will pardon him and Flynn both. They should not have lost everything they owned simply because they worked for Trump! Stay tuned!

pardoning him present a series of problems for Manafort.

PDJT should just commute his sentence. He walks free.

This NY garbage is nothing more than to try and hobble any attempt by Trump to pardon the guy and release him from the cesspool Mueller threw him into.

Manafort´s only sin was to help Trump get the nomination by preventing the delegates from being stolen pre-convention. That is it. The other stuff was pretty much deemed to be not worth prosecution the first time it came up.

Seems to me that the spirit of Double Jeopardy is being attacked here, and we all should hope we never fall victim to an ambitious DA. Because you know they are watching, and Mueller´s ignoring of the Constitution is going to be noted and copied.

Manafort is that note tied to a rock thrown through a window...The "law" can ruin your life, and will if you align with Trump. The charges may be designed to fail...they´re also designed to further suck the financial life out of his accounts and his family. That´s for all the world to see and contemplate.

Recent news reports in the last week revealed that Amazon has thousands of workers listening to Amazon Echo aka Alexa voice assistant recordings. That is a bit unnerving, however, this post will share several ways, including a serious DIY project, to increase your privacy. I’m going to cut right to the chase here: 1. The first method of silencing most voice assistant devices is via the manual, physical button. Some of us don’t read the manual and are unaware that there are manual overrides. On Amazon Echo, when you press the microphone button, the external ring glows red

The damage to Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris could have been a lot worse. If it weren’t for a robot named “Colossus,” firefighters could have lost their lives battling the blaze. “Time was against us, the wind was against us, and we had to get the upper hand,” Gabriel Plus, a spokesman for the Paris Fire Brigade, shared with the Times of London Thursday. “The priority we set was to save the two belfries,” he added. “Imagine if the timber of the belfries had been weakened and the bells had collapsed. That was really our fear. In the beginning,

I’m fond of referring to the climate campaigners as the “climatistas” because they remind me of the Sandinistas and their fellow-traveling fans back in the 1980s. But someone writing as “Will” over at The Medium has done me one better in calling attention to how the climate change fanatics resemble nothing so much as a full-blown religious cult. Read the whole thing, but here are the ten signs and his introductory description to each, based on the indicators developed by the Cult Education Institute: 1. The Mueller Report is a 448 page-long primal scream of rage by the frustrated Hillary Clinton acolytes who wrote it and who utterly failed in their anointed mission to (a) lure President Trump into a General Flynn-style perjury trap and/or (b) goad him into obstructing their faux investigation of non-existent Trump campaign collusion with Russia. Unable to find any evidence of actual criminality by the president, Team Mueller resorted to dirtying him up as much as possible for the benefit of their mainstream media and Democrat party fan clubs. This extra-prosecutorial exercise in character assassination was undoubtedly good group therapy

The partisan warfare over the Mueller report will rage, but one thing cannot be denied: Former President Barack Obama looks just plain bad. On his watch, the Russians meddled in our democracy while his administration did nothing about it. The Mueller report flatly states that Russia began interfering in American democracy in 2014. Over the next couple of years, the effort blossomed into a robust attempt to interfere in our 2016 presidential election. The Obama administration knew this was going on and yet did nothing. In 2016, Obama´s National Security Adviser Susan Rice told her staff

I´m Stuart Varney and this is “My Take.” Stand by for a wild week: it begins Monday! Congress drifts back after the Easter break. Normally, that would not create much excitement, but these are different times. We´ve just received the Mueller report. It’s been picked over with a fine-toothed comb and the Democrats have concluded they can still salvage something from the "no collusion" conclusion: they´re going to contest it. They´re going to re-try the whole investigation. They´re going after all the underlying documents, all the witness statements: and they´re demanding Mueller himself testify. They´ve demanded the president´s tax returns

For approximately 3 million people, nothing in the Mueller report could exonerate President Trump of “Russian collusion,” obstruction of justice, and various other high crimes and misdemeanors of which they are certain he is guilty. For those 3 million people (a number reflecting the combined average weekday primetime audience of CNN and MSNBC) Trump’s guilt is an indisputable fact, his presidency an ongoing crime against humanity, his 2016 election a fraud. In a nation of 325 million people, of course, 3 million is less than a single percentage point. However, that hard-core audience of obsessive

The most remarkable thing about special counsel Robert Mueller’s 448-page report is how blithely the prosecutor reversed the burden of proof on the issue of obstruction. To be sure, President Trump’s conduct outlined on this score isn’t flattering, to put it mildly. For example, the special counsel’s evidence includes indications that the president attempted to induce White House Counsel Don McGahn to fire the special counsel (in June 2017), and then (in January 2018) to deny that the president had made the request. Mueller’s report further suggests that the president dangled pardons.

The New York Yankees‘ anti-racism efforts have extended to pulling from their seventh-inning stretch a famous recording of the legendary Kate Smith singing “God Bless America.” Not because anyone has complained that the song is racist, but because Smith recorded other racially-insensitive standards from and during the Jim Crow era. The Yankees pulled Smith’s “God Bless America” from the rotation at the start of the season, but the New York Daily News reported the reason Thursday—“the Yankees were made aware of Smith’s history of potential racism.” According to the Daily News, the “potential racism” of which

[SNIP] “if we had confidence after a thorough investigation of the facts that the President clearly did not commit obstruction of justice, we would so state. For the first time in Vatican history, the pope allowed for the reading of Islamic prayers and Koran readings from the Catholic facility. The readings and prayer came as Pope Francis met with Israeli President Shimon Peres and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas in Vatican City, a gathering designed to pray for Middle Eastern peace. A Holy See spokesman said the prayers were supposed to be a “pause in politics,” Breitbart reported. The pope said, too, that he hoped the interfaith prayers would foster peace specifically between Israelis and Palestinians, the news outlet said.
