Ex-Romney aide is working for
likely GOP challenger to Trump

Boston Herald, by Hunter Woodall

The top strategist for Sen. Mitt Romney’s 2012 presidential campaign is working for a likely Republican challenger to President Donald Trump. Former Massachusetts Gov. Bill Weld told The Associated Press on Friday that Stuart Stevens is his general consultant as he explores a primary bid against Trump. Stevens joins former New Hampshire GOP chairwoman Jennifer Horn, who is working as an adviser to Weld’s possible campaign.

Weld is Romney’s stalking horse.

Some people just really suck, don´t they? I mean real lowdown rotten stinkers.

For the first time in decades we have a cat in the White House who knows how to pull the right levers and get things back on track and here comes this asinine clown parade of dipwads who want to screw it all up.

What is it with these losers? Ego? Is it simply that?

Why are they still hanging around? Is this our fault?

Very few will vote for a dried up, boring left wing Republican from Massachusetts. They can´t be serious. Romney and his ilk are simply out of touch with reality.

Weld falls out and Romney reluctantly picks up the flag .....
This is all so predictable and transparent.

OP/#12 gets it...but Weld will never "drop out" because he´s never going to be in. This is putting Mitt´s band back together without Mitt being involved, yet. The filing date for early primary states is approaching, some in June - too early to launch a challenge.

Weld may run as a early primary "favorite son" if Trump begins to wobble politically, pledging his delegates to support Mitt if a real opportunity challenge materializes. If not, Mitt walks away clean, and Weld is just another wannabe asterisk.

Don´t think for a minute that Trump is just going to waltz along. The "impeachment" gambit is far from over. The various legal attacks continue. And the Uniparty is all-in to destroy this guy both politically and personally.

He´s not the first President who knows how to pull the levers - he´s the first to actually pull some of them. And the Swamp doesn´t take the threat to their high life lightly.

Weld will have to be pure as the driven snow for democrats not to find something to mock him or other GOP candidate about.

I cannot see the fault in Donald Trump that so offends considering the alternative was a democrat and we know all about JFK and Clinton and Epstein´s pedo island and considering our times before the #MeToo movement started to out our powerful elites?

Doing in the GOP establishment part of Mitt´s ideas of the party of better quality acting people (awkward sentence?) is what Mitt dislikes about our president? Can´t see the results for the forest of angst at the president´s style?

After Mitt was defeated by not getting the Philadelphia angle he made a telling statement that resonated with me. He said he had come to believe God had nothing to do with elections. A very poor reading IMO of what his experience was. Mitt and Ann and their positive attitude about the campaign etc felt that God was with them IMO. But the loss has been misread IMO.

God has everything to do with elections and everything else that goes on in the world, allowing the evil people their actions and mitigating them to his own purpose. Case in point, without obama there would have been no Trump (and without Trump, no fight which seems needed?)

President Trump’s nomination of Stephen Moore and Herman Cain (full disclosure, both are friends and Moore an occasional professional colleague) to the board of governors of the Federal Reserve has become something of a cause célèbre in Washington. Moore’s and Cain’s attackers outnumber their defenders. But their defenders have the better argument. The Cain/Moore mutiny of the Establishment is a perfect microcosm of the existential crisis of modernity. Canadian public intellectual John Raltson Saul called this persistent existential crisis, in his eponymous book, Voltaire’s Bastards. (Penguin Books, 1992.)

America’s founders enshrined property rights in our Constitution, not just because they thought it would provide a strong blueprint for a free market but because they saw ownership as an essential human right. Thus, the final draft of James Madison’s Fifth Amendment has no wiggle words or loopholes. It states unequivocally that private property shall not “be taken for public use, without just compensation.” And yet despite this clear guidance, courts are expanding what can be considered public use, steadily eroding protections in takings law.

When it comes to the drug pricing debate, it´s often easy to let the details obscure the heart of the issue. Even understanding the Trump administration´s newest proposal to bring down high drug prices requires understanding the supply chain at a considerable level of detail. However, when one takes a step back, the broader principles at play become easier to see. Government policies should enable the market to function, letting companies make more money when they offer a better product at a lower price.

Now it is up to Congress and the American people to objectively digest the report and determine the fate of Donald Trump, who in no conceivable way has been exonerated.
