Senate GOP goes down to wire
in showdown with Trump

The Hill, by Jordain Carney

Original Article

Posted By:earlybird, 3/11/2019 11:08:21 AM

Republicans are going down to the wire as they try to find a way out of their showdown with President Trump over his national emergency to build a wall on the Mexican border. Republicans have just days to find a more palatable solution than the House-passed resolution blocking Trump´s actions, which is expected to come up for a vote by Friday. They are looking for ways that Trump could win more wall funding without using the emergency declaration, a controversial move that has caused angst on Capitol Hill.

Comments:
Interesting to see the Senate “leaders” Jordain talked with. Most if not all are members of what I call “McConnell’s posse”, those stony-faced robots who cluster around McConnell whenever he makes a public statement ito the Capitol press.

Their problem is that denying emergency funding tears the mask off the GOPe in terms of border security - and that includes Rand Paul´s lame excuse. Mitch will have to dig deep into his bag of tricks because he has allowed the usual suspects, like Collins and Murkowski, a pass for intransigence in the past.

At least the Dems are "honest" about erasing the borders for their sponsors.

For many years, the Rs could have funded and built a wall. They didn´t want to do that then, and they don´t want to do it now.

That we, the people, want the wall is not relevant to the reasoning of our "betters" in Congress.

May they rot.

What’s interesting is that we view the Democrat House members like AOC and the two Muslim women as radicals, forcing their party further left. But we view Murkowski, Collins, Romney and other senators as maintaining the principles of the GOP while they are also trying to force the Repubs further left.

Murkowski, Collins and their fellow RINOs are pushing the Same Old Deal, but without the PR skills of the idiots pushing the Green New Deal.

Now would be an ideal time for some real conservative republicans to begin campaigning against these feather-nested illegal immigrant lovers now occupying chairs in Congress. We are taking notes and we know an election period lie when we hear one. Time to go, RINOs.

It is Congress´ job to pass legislation to solve America´s problems. It is not to assert their authority or get their feelings hurt when someone else (the President) is forced to take action when they fail it´s duty.

They say it´s impossible to vote out an entrenched politician, because they have the money, network, name recognition and donors. Well, one thing that AOC and the Muslim chicks have shown is that you can go around party leadership if it is not responsive to it´s base. Now, Mitch McConnell is such a leader. If Kentucky can´t vote him out, the conservative is the party should take a lesson from the democrats!

I suspect several million other patriotic voters are doing the same.

I also no longer donate to the various forms of the Republican party. Now I only donate to deserving individual Senate and House campaigns.

We´ll see how this all works out in 2020...

The solution is easy. Pass legislation that narrows the reasons that any president may use to declare a national emergency and limit what funds he can move around without Congressional approval.

Congress abdicated its role when it cedes authority to the executive. And it did so because it coyldnr be bothered with doing its own job.

I lost an earring this week. The simple, square, gold earrings were a gift from my mother a bazillion years ago. Monetarily they were probably fairly insignificant, but as far as their meaning? Sri Lanka police investigators said Monday the coordinated Easter Sunday attacks that targeted Christians and luxury hotel guests were the work of seven suicide bombers. The bombings, Sri Lanka’s deadliest violence since a devastating civil war ended a decade ago on the island nation, killed at least 290 people with more than 500 wounded, police spokesman Ruwan Gunasekara said. Twenty-four arrests have been made but no single group has claimed responsibility for the terror acts, the Sri Lanka Daily Mirror reports. Defense Minister Ruwan Wijewardena described the blasts as a terrorist attack by “a radical Islamic group.”

The original authorization for the appointment of Special Counsel Robert Mueller was May 17th, 2017. However, the recently released Weissmann report shows there were two additional scope memos authorizing specific targeting of the Mueller probe. The first scope memo was August 2nd, 2017, OUTLINED HERE, and is an important part of the puzzle that helps explain the corrupt original purpose of the special counsel. (Snip) second scope memo was to provide Weissmann and Mueller with ammunition and authority to investigate specific targets, for specific purposes.
